THE HOGWARTS POST
date: September 12th 2024 by jimmie blishwick
MINISTRY VS. MUGGLE TECH
CHANGE is on the horizon. After centuries of debate and denial, the harsh laws surrounding Muggle Technology within the Wizarding Community have finally been reevaluated. For centuries the line between the Muggle World and the Wizarding World has been rigidly set. However, as time has gone by more and more we have seen ourselves fall behind the times due to our loyalty to tradition. All the while, the Muggle World has come on in leaps and bounds, from their efforts in AI to The Internet, but we at Hogwarts and beyond have been restricted in our enjoyment of it. Until now.
The Ministry issued an announcement early September revealing its approval of The Conversion of Muggle to Magical Artefacts Act, put in place to oversee the introduction of exciting enhancements of brand new Muggle technology. It has since been revealed that negotiations surrounding the act's proclamation have been in the works for over 26 years - that’s a long time wasted listening to your grandma’s scratchy cassette tapes.
Unfortunately, it is worth adding that this does not mean that we as a student body will be greatly affected by the change. Headmistress McGonagall was quick to take a stand on the matter, stating:
"Hogwarts already has rules that state any items that becomes disruptive or hindering may be confiscated. At this time, a rule will go into force, effective immediately, restricting any muggle technology use within the classroom." She appeared somewhat unfazed by the exciting development, though has still made room for it as she went on to say. "Students, however, are permitted to own such devices and bring them to school as long as they are used wisely..."
So it's official, folks, start drawing up your Christmas Lists! Looks like we're set to see some interesting products on the shelves of Diagon Alley this year. But, is it a step forward for Wizarding Kind, or more fuel for radical traditionalist? Only time will tell.
