November 2024
Another night of not being able to sleep. Honestly, Xavier didn’t mind not being able to sleep most days. He got more done that way. It was that reason that he was able to keep up with all of his school work; no sleep meant he could utilize more hours of the day to get everything done. If anyone actually ever noticed Xavier, he didn’t spent most of his class time ignoring anything his professors were saying for his experiments and research. His grades were decent enough because he spent nights like this one skimming over the readings and writing the bare minimum of information down on parchments to pass it off as homework. He got by, that was all that mattered. He did just enough to pass his O.W.L.s and he was going to do just enough to pass his N.E.W.Ts so that he could work for the ministry. Tonight wasn’t much different from previous nights. The common room was empty and the early hours of the morning were creeping by. A fire crackled, keeping him warm, as he sat at one of the many desks skimming through his Transfiguration homework. He’d been skimming for an hour and his patience was thin where the reading was concerned. He exhaled forcefully before slamming the book shut and turning to a book that was much more interesting. He’d been looking into foreign types of magic, nothing too dark because of course he wasn’t able to find that here without raising any red flags. He took in the information on the page quickly, losing track of the number of words and paged he went through.
