He seemed amused at her snarky question and offered other suggestions instead o the one she offered, though of course, she hadn’t really been offering to share her secrets with him. “Yes, I’ve always lived in London, except when I was at school, of course. My dad works for the Ministry. And now this is where my career is. Though I’d be more than willing to move anywhere in the world so long as there was work.” What was London compared to the entire world? Of course, she was stuck here for a while for WADA training, but, once she graduated WADA, she could go wherever she wanted. She could never see her father and mother and family again. Except for maybe Anna. Anna was okay. She could come with. “What about you? Where are you from? What’s your story?” she asked.

Vik nodded as the woman started to answer his questions. They were still dancing and he appreciated that she actually was telling her about herself instead of refusing. That could have made this quite awkward. Instead, it was nice to get to know her just a little bit more. "That's cool. I feel the same way. Always lived in London, but I wouldn't mind trying somewhere else out as long as I could work there. I'm not really attached to places, you know." There were some people who lived their entire life in one house because they couldn't imagine living somewhere else. Vik didn't understand that. He smiled at her question. "I'm from here. Raised in London by my adopted parents, went to Hogwarts. The last few years I've done a bit of traveling and stuff, but I haven't gone too far because of my parent's wishes." They were nervous that if he left he'd never come back again. There was a bit of truth to that, but Vik would come back for his parents. He owed a lot to them and their kindness. He couldn't just turn his back on them entirely.

“Ooh, what a good boy.” Lucy teased when he said that he didn’t go too far away for too long because of his parents wishes. They obviously didn’t want their child to run off to the other side of the world and never come back. But Lucy wouldn’t care even if her parents felt that way, which they might, for all she knew. She tried to ignore her parents and their wishes for her as much as possible. However, she understood that no everyone was like her. “I couldn’t exactly tell you what my parents wishes for me are. I haven’t spoken to them in months.” she last time she had said one word to them was at Graduation when she told them that she was moving out and taking Anna with her. Her mother had cried and her father looked furious. But she couldn’t go back to living under their roof, and she couldn’t subject Anna to it either.
@vik (I think you can go ahead and fade it out)

Vik rolled his eyes when Lucy called him a good boy. "I wouldn't go that far," he argued with a shrug. "I just have a good enough relationship with them, and I owe them enough that I don't want to upset them too badly. I disappeared for a few years without sending word, so I figured I'd stay out in the open for now." He really did care for his adopted parents a lot, but he also wasn't anyone's puppet. Vik liked being in charge of his own destiny and everything he wanted to do. He had no intention of letting anyone- least of all his parents- order him around. He nodded when Lucy admitted that she hadn't spoken to her parents in months. Clearly, she didn't care what her parents wanted for her, so he wasn't going to push her on the subject. Instead, he let the idea of talking go and the two danced together for a while. Occasionally they would talk about something, but for the most part the two simply danced and he was perfectly content to do just that. --- fade out, the end! --- @lucyweasley
