Considering it was a wizarding matchmaking service, Rai thought it was kind of strange that they were meeting at a muggle bar for their blind date. Not that she minded going to places like that, she had done it plenty of times, but she didn't expect it from Blishwick. Granted her last date was also at a muggle activity. She wore a short dress that was about 5 inches above her knee and a black leather jacket. Her hair was just a little bit crimped, but nothing too fancy as it fell just to her shoulders. She was pretty excited about this, the last blind date had been really fun with Luke doing trapeze. She wasn't as good at it as she would have liked to be, but she really enjoyed herself. Luke was a nice guy and the activity was thrilling. She was told to wait outside of the club and hold a gold balloon so that her date could find her. She grasped the string tight enough so that it wouldn't get away from her, looking around for someone who may have been looking around for her. @aerick

New Years Eve. Typically, Aerick spent his last day of the year in bed before shuffling over to Club Indigo to sling drinks for inebriated patrons, and flirt with the girls who clearly took thought and time into their hair, makeup and outfits. He never went home with any of them though, not while he was on the clock. Elaine paid the bartenders of Club Indigo triple on New Years Eve to keep the patrons entertained, but never crossing the line. This year though, he had completed several...other missions for Elaine over the past few months, and had been handsomely compensated for it. So when he asked for the night off to try out this Blishwick dating service, she had agreed. He had no idea what this girls’ name was, or really what she looked like. All he knew was he was supposed to meet her outside this karaoke bar just before midnight, so they could go sing their hearts out after the ball dropped. He wasn’t sure if they actually had a ball drop in London, just the fireworks. But even after several years of living in the city, he was still used to the New York City on New Years Eve. Aerick woke up around on in the afternoon, and went about his usual business until it was time to leave, nursing a glass of whiskey on ice until it was time to leave. He had a warm fuzzy feeling, but wasn’t remotely near any state of inebriation. He put on black jeans, a plain white tee shirt, black boots and his trusty black leather jacket. He had figured a suit was too much to go sing karaoke at a Muggle bar, and besides, girls seemed to like leather. He Apparated to the Club and made his way to the bar from there from the small room the wizarding patrons used to get there easily. The girl would be holding a gold balloon, so he’d know who she was. As he walked towards the bar, he sold the gold balloon first, then the pretty girl in the leather jacket after. A half smile crept up on his lips, and he walked up to her. “So, it seems we have similar taste in jackets,” he said casually, before extending one of his hands to her. “Aerick, seems like I’m your karaoke partner tonight,” he introduced. @railynn

A guy in a leather jacket - scratch that - a delectable guy in a leather jacket approached her, commenting on their same taste in leather and offering her a handshake and his name. "Wow, I guess I won the lottery on this one," she commented, taking his hand and giving it a firm shake. "I'm Railyn, call me Rai," she introduced. "Shall we?" she led the way into the club, looking back at her date and raising both of her eyebrows, "wanna pick our seat?" she suggested. @aerick

Aerick smiled as Rai gave him a once over, a gleam of approval in her eyes. Girls always did seem to like the leather jacket. "The pleasure is all mine Rai," he told her. He followed Rai's lead into the club, scanning it once over to check for any...suspicious characters. To his knowledge, nobody knew about his affiliation with the Purifiers, but he was always careful, especially after the murder of his father. He nodded once, then handed her a twenty pound note. "First rounds on me, surprise me with what you get," he told her. He walked around the bar, looking at the filled seats and booths; there weren't any open tables available. So, it looked like Aerick would have to do some improvisation. He scanned the seats, before noticing a couple who were less than privately making their affections known for each other. The man already had his hand up the girls skirt, and it took all he had not to roll his eyes. Pathetic. "Excuse me," he said smoothly, strolling up to their table. He repeated himself twice before they finally unlatched themselves from each other and looked up. "I believe you're occupying my table," he said, and the man looked at him through narrowed eyes. Imperio.
The nonverbal spell settled on the mans' face before he could even say a word. He looked to the girl he was entwined with, who was looking between the two with a nervous curiosity. "I think it's time you two found a more...private area, don't you?" he continued. Obediently, the man stood up and the two walked out, leaving the table free. Wrinkling his nose a little, Aerick took a seat at the table, waiting for Railynn to join him. It looked as though they had about a half hour until the karaoke started, so they'd have some time to get to know each other first. @railynn

He said the pleasure was all his and she couldn't help but get a little flustered. He was incredibly good looking and his voice was like... smoky honey, somehow. He said the first round was on him and she nodded, "and a gentleman too. I can only hope you're not too gentleman-like," yes, Rai was a shameless flirt when the occasion called for it. She turned toward the bar to order as Aerick moved to get a seat. She ordered and turned around just in time to see Aerick taking a seat at a very well placed table. She grinned, waving at him before the drinks were ready and she joined him. "The perfect spot. Not too close to the speakers, not too far from the bar," she nodded in approval, sitting down. She shrugged off her jacket to reveal the strapless dress, her pale shoulders on display, looking around the room. @aerick

Aerick grinned wickedly at Rai’s quip about his conduct. “Well you’ll just have to wait and see,” he teased, pulling his drink closer as she took her seat. He tried not to stare as she removed her jacket; she was very pretty, there was no denying that. But Aerick had seen his fair share of sleazy men ogling women at Club Indigo in a manner that made him feel quite uncomfortable. She was right; the seats he had chosen (in a manner of speaking) were far enough from the speakers that they could still hear each other as the karaoke began. “So what made you choose to sign up with Blishwicks?” he asked, taking a sip of his drink. The first performer, a group of girls who were far busier giggling amongst themselves to get the lyrics right. He vaguely recognized the song as a Muggle pop group that had been popular years ago, but he tried not to pay much attention to them and instead focused on Rai. “Any ideas on the first song you want to perform?” he added with a nod towards the station. @railynn

He said she'd ave to just wait and see about his demeanor and all and she raised an eyebrow, approving of the mystery. She lifted her drink to her lips as he spoke next, asking her what made her sign up with the matchmaking service event. She shrugged, cutting her sip short and lowering the glass to the table, "bored as f*ck," she answered simply. "What about you?" she asked. He asked what song she'd like to start with and she pursed her lips to the side, "I honestly don't know that many muggle songs... but I know enough. Do you want to do a duet or... show off on our own first? I'll warn you, I'm not a great singer," she admitted. Finn might say that wasn't true, but she didn't really see herself as a singer. She wasn't off key, just not star material. @aerick

Aerick smiled at her refreshingly honest answer. “Blunt, I like it,” he told her, knocking back his drink in one go as he stood up to get another. “I don’t meet a lot of girls who aren’t totally plastered by the time they start talking to me in my line of work. I’d like to have somewhat of a coherent conversation that doesn’t lead off with the time they got stood up on a date, or that their boyfriend broke up with them. It all gets so….boring after awhile.” He got their new drinks quickly and set them back down on the table. Aerick laughed. “Nor do I to be honest. Was raised by my witch mother, who had a bit of an obsession with the Weird Sisters,” he told Rai, shaking his head in fond memory. He’d walked in on his mother on more than one occasion singing at the top of her lungs and dancing around to the newest hit this fad band from England had put out. That was before his father had left them; she didn’t do much singing nowadays. He grabbed the list of songs from the DJ and put it down in front of them. “Hm...a duet I think, to calm both our nerves down. Should we start off with something like ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’ or does that sound too cheesy?” he asked, looking up to meet her eyes. @railynn
