01.03.25 The new year brought with it a refreshing feeling that Zita was quickly becoming addicted to even though they were only three days into it. She had been so overwhelmed last term that she had been so ready for the break to start. Getting time to spend time with her family, including her dearest sister, and being able to relax was exactly what she had needed in order to calm down from the workload she'd had. She didn't have long to do that, but she felt great. She'd almost forgotten about the fact that she'd signed up for one of the Blishwick Matchmaking blind dates when she'd received an owl at home telling her that her blind date was supposed to be soon. When the letter arrived, telling her where to go, what day to be there, and what they were doing, she had been a little bit confused at first, but she had something else to look forward to. She was open to meeting someone, obviously, but she also didn't want to force anything with anyone. It was her entire philosophy on love and romance and all of that. Depending on who you asked, that philosophy either worked out well or it was the worst. She hadn't been on a date in a while. She'd had crushes but none of them ever worked out. So she'd been fine with that. Now she was presented with this opportunity and she felt a little bit more optimistic about things. Who knew what else the new year would bring? The day finally arrived and she got dressed in a warm black dress, something that would allow her to move more freely than jeans because of the fact that the date was supposed to be a swing class, and a pair of heeled boots, and she headed out of the door. It didn’t take long for to get to the nearest apparition point so with a wave of her wand she found herself standing at the beginnings of Hogsmeade.
Apparently, there was a dance studio in the small village? She had just been there a few weeks ago and she hadn’t seen any such studios anywhere in Hogsmeade. It took her a moment, and a few times looking back at the letter for directions in mild disbelief, before she came upon the new, and yet still somehow old looking, building. It was a little out of the way and she’d never seen it before so she figured this had to be the place mentioned in the letter. Her quick exhalation was visible in the cold air before she entered into the building. The inside was a brand new dance studio and there were plenty of people that seemed to be waiting for the class to start. She had to wait for her date before she did anything though. Slipping her gloves from her hands, she took a seat on the nearest bench and looked over the class in excitement. This was going to be fun.

Ophelia glanced down at the piece of paper in her hand and sighed, slinging her bag over her shoulder as she headed down the street. She didn't know what had compelled her sign up for the blind date thing from Blishwick Matchmaking, but she didn't want to be the person who stood someone up. Plus, it could turn out good; a part of her was excited to see who she would get, and she wondered if she knew them-- likely, by the information she'd gathered. Hopefully, it would not be someone whom she disliked. At least the date was a swing class; she had been forced to learn the dance way back when she was a child, when she was still dragged to her family's expensive galas. She had Celine had both gone through gruesome lessons taught by their parents so they could look good at the dance floor of whatever dinner they were invited to. Now, she was out of practice, but hopefully muscle memory would save her from looking too clumsy. It wasn't too hard to find the dance studio in Hogsmeade, although she didn't know that the village harbored such a place. Something good to keep in mind, though, if she ever wanted to come back. When she had been dancing with someone, not under the eyes of her parents, she genuinely liked it. There was a freedom about the activity that made it very fun. She had no idea who the identity of her blind date was-- that was the point-- but she'd gotten her crystal ball before heading to Hogsmeade to at least try and see, because she got the idea that once she actually arrived she would have no idea who she was supposed to look for. It was a class, bound to be a lot of people. The image in the ball had depicted someone sitting alone on a bench in the studio, though her back was faced to Ophelia and so she couldn't catch her date's face. It looked like a girl, though, and something about the posture seemed familiar. Well. That was a little reassuring. She saw the picture her crystal ball had showed her when she hurried towards the studio, the exact same individual wearing the exact same clothing on the exact same bench-- how long had she been there? At least she wasn't late to the class, seeing as everyone was still waiting. She pushed the door open and brushed her hair from her eyes before approaching her date. Yeah, her heart was pounding a little. But she felt an insane wave of relief when she stepped in front of the person. "Zita!" she exclaimed with a smile. Thank God that her date wasn't a prick. "What a nice surprise." Words: 461 Tags: @zita

01.03.25 What she assumed to be the instructors of the class walked to the front of the studio, a man in slacks and a button down and a woman in a black dress not dissimilar to hers, and stood in wait, looking over the assembled class. Zita felt excitement through every limb; she couldn’t wait to be on the floor dancing. She was athletic but dance is something that she hadn’t really taken a part of, as far as taking lessons went, since she was very young. She had been really into the idea of dance when she was younger and she had taken a few classes but she’d quickly gotten over them and hadn’t taken the class for long. She liked dancing in general though. Considering this was a partnered form, she was curious as to how it would go. She was strictly into women, therefore her blind date would be a woman. Would the instructors be okay with two women as partners or would they be forced to pair up with others? Crossing on leg over another she placed her hands in her lap as others began to stretch their bodies in preparation.
The sound of a familiar voice, calling out her name behind her, had her turning towards the entrance of the studio. Before her stood Ophelia Fawcett with a bright smile on her face, one she returned happily. "Oh Fi! Hey, what’s up?" she greeted easily as she stood up from the bench. "Are you here for a class as well? Or would you also happen to be here for a blind date?" Had they paired her with the Ravenclaw? It wouldn’t surprise if they did but she didn’t want to assume. They had a little bit in common; they both played Quidditch and were keepers to be exact. The questionnaire that accompanied the blind date form had asked for favorites and hobbies so it wasn’t too far fetched to think they would be paired together. That then left the question of why Ophelia had signed up. Zita didn’t want to think too much about it. This was someone she knew, and at the very least she was going to have fun with the class. Even if she wasn’t her date, she would at the very least have someone she would bail the date for and hang out with if her blind date proved to be a bust.

"Yes, you're my date, actually," Ophelia said, a little sheepishly, then grinned and rolled her eyes a bit, running her hand through her blond locks as she admitted, "I cheated a little bit and divined you through my crystal ball just before I came here. Otherwise I wouldn't have known what to do at all, I think." She was actually feeling a little excited about it now, now that her date wasn't some total creep that would make her uncomfortable the entire time. Quite the opposite, in fact. "Thank god I like you already, otherwise if you'd turned out to be some arsehole I wouldn't think I'd be able to handle it." This was going to be fun. She hadn't hit a dance floor to properly dance, not that kind where you jump up and down shaking your fist like an idiot trying to get a passing truck to honk. And best of all, she had a friend to dance it with. "So I see we haven't started yet," the blonde Ravenclaw commented, taking a seat next to Zita. The people were milling about, and she could see their teachers at the front, a man and a woman. "How are you? Last time I saw you in the corridors you were pretty stressed, although not enough to help me out with my hair disaster," she added, eyes twinkling. That day had been embarrassing and if it weren't for Zita she would've had to do a walk of shame back to Ravenclaw to ask for help to revert her hair back to its normal color. 01.03.25 Ophelia confirmed that they had been paired for the blind date but she also admitted that she’d used a crystal ball to see who she had been. The smirk that broke out on Zita’s face was all smugness and amusement. Divination wasn’t really her thing, in any sense of the word, but she couldn’t say she faulted her for using what she had. She saw the reasoning for wanting to see who your date was beforehand but she liked the idea of the surprise better, personally. Now she did anyway since the person she had been paired with was someone she knew she would get along with. That made everything so much better in her head. "Ooh, so. You saw it was me. Knew that I would be your date. And you still came, knowing this was a date? Is that a secret confession, Fi," she teased lightly, eyes lit up with the amusement she felt. Her grin widened and she let out a laugh at the words that followed her original admission. "I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought that way. Even still if my date had been awful I would have come and bothered you since I knew you were here." And had there been no one else she probably would have walked out. Blishwick hadn’t done bad though so she was okay.
Zita’s head turned and looked at the class just as Ophelia spoke up. "Not yet but I’m sure they’ll be starting up pretty soon. Do you dance?" the Hufflepuff asked as she took her seat again once the Ravenclaw had sat down. She crossed her legs in front of her, watching a few of the people that were inside the studio move around and limber up, before she found herself surprised by Ophelia’s words. She asked her how she’d been and Z remembered that, yes, the last time she’d seen her, just before break, she hadn’t been feeling too well. Ophelia had pulled her out of her thoughts with a simple task and Zita had been so grateful for the distraction. "Oh yeah. So much better. I just needed some time is all. And seeing my family, my sister especially, was exactly what I’d needed," she explained, leaning back on her hands and turning her attention to the blonde. "How about you? How’s your break been going? I’m guessing you stayed at Hogwarts since Blishwick chose here for our blind date."
