Like dozens of others, Maxima Greyback had spent the past few hours standing or sitting around inside the music shop in Hogsmeade, trying to keep herself and her younger half-siblings safe from the dragons outside. It wasn't every day that you went skating with your siblings, only to end up sheltering in place from actual dragons, but Max supposed that she could check that off of the "things that had happened that probably shouldn't have" list that she had kept in her head ever since weird and dangerous things had started happening frequently in the magical world. Luckily, the twins weren't freaking out as much as she thought that they might have at the sight of the dragons; they had actually thought that they were cool.
The Slytherin prefect wasn't sure for how long they must have been there, though she knew that it had been around noon when the first dragons had been sighted. When she got the time from someone sitting nearby, they had said that it was almost four o'clock. Thank Merlin that it was still early enough that her mother and stepfather had no reason to be worried about them yet, though—then again—their mother had probably heard about what was going on, considering that she worked for the Ministry.
"Has anyone got a mobile phone with them?" she wondered, moving herself from the cello case she'd had her back against and getting to her feet. Max realized that she should have asked for one for Christmas—one of the new ones that worked in heavily magical areas without malfunctioning. "No?" Silence.
She looked to the twins, who were talking with one another. "Stay here. I'll be back in just a minute. I'm going to see if anyone needs help out there," she said, motioning towards the direction of the street.
"But I thought you couldn't use magic outside of—"
"No, Simon, I can't," Max granted her younger brother, "but right now is different, alright? Stay here, even if somebody says it's okay to go back out. I don't want to lose you two."
The twins nodded, and Max moved around people until she was outside of the shop, where the worst seemed to have passed them by. Plenty was destroyed around the area. She had never seen a tornado, though she imagined that the high street's appearance was what it would have looked like if one had whirled through. Max turned her head and could see that one of the dragons had been restrained by some adults but was still struggling against them.
She walked a little further down from Dominic Maestro's, past pieces of debris, and noticed a girl who must have—from what she could deduce—been forced to retreat from the dragons. Her trouser leg was singed, and the skin that should have been covered by it was burnt.
Max recognized her, she was almost certain, as a fellow Slytherin, although the other girl was at least a year or two younger than she. She moved quickly over to her. "Hi, I'm Max," she introduced herself much more quickly than she would have under normal circumstances. "I don't mean to scare you," she added, "but, er, is it alright if I touch your leg?"

Spending Christmas alone at Hogwarts was one choice Yvonne was sure she would grow to forget and it was simply one choice she regretted in the early hours of the twenty-eighth. Days prior she had actually enjoyed spending time with her twin sister Yvette but never revealed that she truly did. She managed a smile by her side but that was it. Begging for some fun out of the castle, the brunette found herself back in the festivities, rather enjoying it. Until the dragon's made their presence well known.
At first, Yvonne feared them, something about the dragons unsettled her - aside from the heaps of fire that left their mouth. But like the stubborn girl she was, the De Snaijer refused to show fear. Fear itself was a weakness, something she constantly felt especially now without the guidance of her parents - but she still refused to show it. And soon, that's when her act of bravery kicked in. The brunette remembered running, running in the direction of a few adults who seemed to be attacking back against the dragon. She remembered...yelling. Yelling for them to take her help. The more help the better. Right? Wrong.
In the midst of it all, with Yvonne's courage and the help of other wizards left to the struggle of restraining the dragon. And when everyone thought all was well, the brunette was burned in the process. The dark long trousers she had worn for that day was burned and it was a sudden realisation. The Slytherin remembered the burning of her fabrics but not the scorch of a burn across her leg. It stopped just below her thigh with an odd birthmark kind of appearance, minus the skin's appearance overall. She had passed out a few times, her body attempting to cope with the burns on her body someway, but when she awoken for the next time, her eyes widened while she felt her throat closing up, holding her own breath.
She was on the verge of tears when her own eyes glanced upon her leg, but the brunette felt herself jump at the sound of someone else’s voice. The female introduced herself as Max, a name that sounded familiar and even her face was too. But with the pain, Yvonne couldn’t necessarily focus on anything else. Max asked to touch her leg, something that the brunette found rather strange to ask for. ”N-No!” She yelled defensively, pushing herself away from Max with her hands balled up. ”S-Stay away from me!”

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] WON'T LET YOU FADE INTO DARKNESS [attr="class","next"] DECEMBER 28, 2024 Rhea had gotten talked into attending the Winter Festival in Hogsmeade on her day off, and because she was someone that didn’t object to visiting, she had found herself in the little village wandering around. Of course, her walking around didn’t last as long as she had liked before dragons had attacked. People were screaming, running and others were trying to put up a defense around certain areas to protect from the dragon’s rampage that came down upon the quiet village. Rhea had been one of the ones to help bring people inside buildings, helping the wounded and trying to go out and see if anyone needed help will help protect against the dragon attack. For four hours, that is precisely what Rhea did, and finally, it seemed that the action had died down some and Rhea was one of the first medical teams on the scene. Having called in some help from St. Mungo’s about the attack, she began scoping for people that needed help. It was during her rounds trying to find people to get them to safety and check for injuries, she stumbled upon two young girls, looking to be school age, talking to one another. From far away, she couldn’t tell what was wrong, until she heard the girl cry out for the other one to stay away from her. Rhea grew closer and noticed the young girl’s leg was severely burned, and she quickly moved closer. “Girls are you both alright?” she questioned, “I’m a nurse at St. Mungo’s—do you mind if I look at your leg?” she questioned the brunette as she knelt next to the brunette that seemed to be helping the injured girl. she began digging into her purse and produced some burn cream and bandages, thankful that she had spelled her bag to be endless and filled with necessities and medical supplies.
NOTES sorry for the long wait girls! [newclass=.next::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px;[/newclass][newclass=.next::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background: #000;[/newclass]

The girl was adamant that she stay away from her, though Max knew that she still needed help. The burn was bad—larger and more severe than anything that she had managed to heal with her hands before—but there was little that she could do to convince the girl to let her try, especially when she didn't want to be touched already. It was a little bit embarrassing when the younger girl had pushed herself away from her, but, then again, maybe it was better that she had made her presence known.
"It's alright. I'm not going to—"
Just then, another bystander approached, a woman probably in her twenties. "Girls," she addressed them, "are you both alright?"
Max nodded and stepped away from the younger girl as the older woman moved towards them.
"I’m a nurse at St. Mungo’s—do you mind if I look at your leg?" she asked the girl with the burn, moving to kneel beside her. She had a bag of supplies with her, too, which was helpful.
"She got burnt, miss," Max informed the nurse, though she probably could see that for herself. "I didn't see what happened. I just came out of the music shop. She wouldn't let me near her, but I have this… I can heal people, with my hands…" Merlin, she probably sounded as though she was out of her mind, but she wasn't joking.

Yvonne looked away from Max the second she heard another unfamiliar voice. While she didn’t want to relive the moment her thigh was burnt to a crisp, the elephant in the room simply couldn’t be avoided. Light eyes watched as the nurse pulled out products that would seem to help with her burn, but panic arose within her. ”N-No! Don’t touch me!” She yelled, her behaviour reflecting the same way as it did with the first girl. ”P-Please…Don’t hurt me…”
The De Snaijer could’ve sworn that she heard Max’s mumbles to the nurse, leading her to feel a rush of confusing emotions. ”Heal people? Through your hands?” She repeated in question. Being a pureblood, she had no doubt that things like special abilities were possible, but where her mind was set as of now, everything was rather strange to her. ”Are you joking right now?” She knew healers existed, considering the amount of times her parents were healed after their duties as Aurors, but it had always been through wands or simple creams. Never through their hands. It was strange especially since Max seemed to look as if she was still in school. Yvonne could’ve sworn she saw her in the halls of Hogwarts at least once or twice.
”The dragons…They…I…” She wanted to recall the event, to explain how stupidity led her to this fatal injury. Would her leg have to go? Surely it wasn’t that serious. Yvonne also wished that Yvette hadn’t returned to Hogsmeade, hoping she would avoid the chaos, allowing Yvonne to find some kind of way to…Hide this burn…If she could even fix it.

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] WON'T LET YOU FADE INTO DARKNESS [attr="class","next"] The moment Rhea went to reach out to touch the young girl, she recoiled back, freaking out just like she had moments before the woman had walked over to them. “I’m not going to hurt you. My name is Rhea—what is your name?” she questioned softly, hoping to calm the young child down. Slowly, Rhea moved her hand forward and made contact with the girl’s leg, and then—the pain slowly started to appear on her leg, she felt like the skin had been removed and was still burning. She clenched her jaw, “How does that feel?” she questioned, wanting to see the girl’s reaction to having no pain in that area. Rhea’s ability usually left them feeling cold, or even a light buzz in that area—but there was never any pain. It was different for everyone, and Rhea always asked how the person felt. ‘She wouldn’t let me near her, but I have this…I can heal people, with my hands…’ Rhea’s attention snapped towards the other young girl, looking at her for a quick second. Another person with a special ability trapped within them? This time, taking the physical trauma away? The hurt girl seemed not to believe what the other one was saying, and Rhea smiled. “Interesting—would you believe me if I told you I can absorb physical pain from someone into myself?” she questioned the healing girl before looking at the other one, “Which is why you don’t feel anything right now…so if I can do that? Why can’t she heal you?”Rhea nodded her head at the girl, “Yes—they are gone, from what I heard, they were able to keep them away. Now—how about we try letting this nice girl heal you? Might even save your leg from any permanent damage and would likely stop you from having a scar for the rest of your life,” she said to the girl, "Or I can give you some burn cream, it isn't too bad, I've seen worse..."

The Healer introduced herself to the younger girl as Rhea and asked for her name. Suddenly, she touched the girl's leg and began to grimace in pain herself—something that Max wasn't used to in the slightest. She watched curiously, wondering if she should step in and do something, but Rhea seemed—strange though the situation was—to have things under control.
When she mentioned her healing ability to Rhea, though, the woman smiled at her. "Interesting," she said. "Would you believe me if I told you I can absorb physical pain from someone into myself?"
Max's eyes grew wide—almost starstruck—as she wondered if she had heard Rhea correctly. Maybe she was one of the Healers Aaron had been talking about when he had said that he would write to some of his friends. She didn't know, but she wanted to talk to Rhea when she could. There was someone else out there like her, and of course they had been brought together at the most inconvenient moment possible for them to actually converse with one another.
"Which is why you don’t feel anything right now…" Rhea informed the younger girl, questioning why—if she could do that—Max couldn't heal her. She went on to tell the girl that the dragons had been kept away, and she gave her a few different options, including burn cream.
"Rhea… I'm Max, by the way, and I've… never healed anything that severe before," Max admitted. "I—I could probably heal some of the… minor bits, if you want," she explained, "to make that easier for you?" If she did that, then Rhea wouldn't have to be in so much pain, herself, and they could both focus on taking care of the younger girl's more severe burns and getting her to St. Mungo's or the Hospital Wing.
