IT WAS ALMOST A TRADITION FOR ANA TO SIGN up for any Blishwick event. She loved the atmosphere, and also the idea of going on a date she didn't even have to work for. She had yet to be disappointed, even in the ones that didn't turn out to be anything but a good time. Ana was firm believer in the idea that matches came in all shapes and sizes - including platonic and romantic. She'd met a lot of friends through simply being bold enough to go on a date with them.
So, she turned up to the glassblowing experience day with a smile and a warm spiced coffee, and her favourite scarf. A hand-knitted monstrosity she'd been given as a gift one year. Ana insisted it looked cute. Gloved hands warmed her takeaway cup, and she strained her neck to see who might be waiting outside of the little shop, a little late but still smiling. She hadn't gotten anything for her date because it was blind - and Ana was a firm believer in giving someone what they asked for. She didn't know this person to even ask, which was thrilling in and of itself. There was a figure standing with their back to her, hands tucked in pockets. She tapped them on the shoulder. "Blishwick's?" She asked boldly.

Sav had gone on many a blind date. In fact, the one that he had gone on over the summer had amounted in a really good friend. He and Ashley still saw one another regularly and he checked up on her every time he saw her in the corridors at school. There was nothing romantic between the two, even though she was a very pretty girl, they were just friends. Sav liked having friends. This was always a great way of meeting people… except for that one time that he got paired with his half-sister. That had been...interesting. He shook that thought out of his head instantly. Of course it hadn’t been a real date, and they had been able to talk since the first time they found out that they were brother and sister, but it still had been awkward. Extremely awkward.
Sav had gotten to the place a little bit early and looked around while he waited for his date. Of course he had no idea who he would see walking into the door, but he didn’t pay much attention to that. Instead, he watched through a window while a person stuck a rod into a big vat of fire and pulled it out after a few moments, twirling the liquid on it. Someone came up to him and tapped him on the shoulder, the tall guy spun around and a smirk instantly spread onto his face. Of course he knew Ana Krum. They both played Quidditch and both played the same position, not to mention they were in the same year. “Funny how these things work out, isn’t it?” he teased.

SAV MACMILLIAN WAS A HELLUVA A BEATER BUT Ana had never noticed that he also had a very nice smile. Her eyes narrowed slightly, as they did with any Quidditch competitor. "Sav..." She greeted him, leaning back with a mirroring smirk on her face as she considered the opportunity before her. Ana didn't mind crossing competition boundaries, she'd certainly enjoyed the company of the odd Slytherin and Gryffindor before, but her immediate reaction was always focused on the competition. And Sav had knocked her sideways a few times.
"Hilarious." She retorted, shifting from foot to foot as she regarded him with humour in her eyes. "You look better without your bat." She teased, tongue in cheek as she peered over his shoulder in to the venue. It was apparently a glass-blowing class, which Ana hadn't being terribly excited about, but she loved a challenge. Being paired with Sav only heightened this competitiveness as she stepped around him and began leading the way inside. Just before she reached the door she turned to him rapidly, her jaw squared, a slight curl to her lips. "You're going down, MacMillian." Her brows shot up once, daring him before she leaned her back against the door behind her, pushing it open slowly.

She greeted him with a smirk too, possibly mimicking his expression. Oh, perhaps she found this as hilarious as he did. While they were obviously competition, Sav had nothing against her, personally. She commented that he looked better without and his bat and it inspired a laugh from the large, Gryffindor boy. “I could say the same about you, Ana.” he teased in response. The two beaters had gone against one another several times. Sav had been a beater since joining the team in his third year, after he had gone through his growth spurt. He watched her turn around and head to the door, she commented that he was going down and another scoff escaped out of his laugh. “I didn’t think blowing glass was a competition.” he admitted. Sav was competitive, but mostly only when it came to Quidditch, running, or some sort of physical or athletic activity. “But whatever you say, Krum.” he teased back, maybe it would be. He followed her inside.

TILTING HER HEAD, ANA'S EYES SQUINTED IN appearance of disbelief. Ana thought she looked swell with her beaters bat, but Sav was quick to retort nonetheless. Which did not surprise Ana in the slightest, as he was quite impartial with his bat. "I beg to differ..." She drawled, kissing her teeth as she moved away from him slowly. The difference between her and most people was, the games didn't end when she left the pitch. Ana was deeply competitive in all walks of life, no matter the situation.
Ana scoffed, watching Sav stroll past her through the doorway as she stepped back to allow him entry. "That's what losers say!" She teased, her legs moving quickly to keep up with his wide, long legged strides. Cold hands in pockets as she quirked her brows at him, tongue pressed behind her teeth. "There's always a winner." And therefore, there was always a loser. Or, so Ana thought. Their attention, however, was shifted slightly as the man at the reception desk smiled expectantly when they gave their names. It was definitely one of Ana's least conventional dates.
Following the receptionist a long hallway lined with doors, he lead them in to a very large, industrial looking main floor. Ana was already shrugging out of her coat, peeling her gloves off a finger at a time as she watched a gruff looking man near the back of the room roll a glowing glob at the end of a very large pipe. "This is gonna be... interesting." She turned to Sav again to gauge his first impressions. "Never been on to class for a date." Cocking her hip slightly, she gave him her full and undivided attention. "You?"

Sav had to admit, she was definitely bring out his competitive side, even though he hadn’t been expecting glass blowing to be as exciting as a sport, it was certainly getting there. Though he still had no idea what he was trying to do, or, what glass blowing even meant. He couldn’t imagine that it was a popular wizard activity. Surely this could easily be done by magic, but he knew better than to pull his want out of his sock in the presence of muggles. He walked with Ana through the hallway and into the large room, following behind the receptionist. She gave them thick gloves and goggles for their eyes, as well as drab, black aprons. “Reminds me of potions class.” he winked to her as he put the goggles over his eyes. “Can’t say I’ve been in a class for a date, but I guess learning together is part of the fun?” at least they were on equal levels for this activity. Neither had done this type of thing before. The tough looking muggle came over and took them with him, showing them around the facility and vaguely telling them what it all was for and what they would be doing.

SAV HAD A POINT, THE CLASS DEFINITELY GAVE Potions Class vibes. Which did not fill her with joy as she'd never been the best with a cauldron, but that didn't mean she'd be beat. If her face dropped a bit at the comparison, she didn't let it show any further. It was just the overwhelming heat in the room. Or so she told herself.
"Nah," Ana sighed, a slight smirk on her face as she watched a man across the room shape his glowing orb in to a long neck. "Beating you will be the fun part." Tying the apron around her person and pulling the googles down over her eyes. Once there, she gave a little twirl for Sav, ending with a hand perched on her hip. "Do I like date worthy?" She asked, her hair in disarray from the googles tight strap, it also magnified her eyes a little bit.

As Sav continued to dress in the required safety gear, and pulled the thick gloves onto his hands, he couldn’t help but think about how his own dragon skin gloves would probably be a better option. Oh well. He didn’t tend to carry those around on his person. She teased him, saying that beating him would be the fun part, he scoffed. “Good luck then. You'll need it.” he teased her back, if she wanted a competition then he was sure he could whip something up. Whoever blew glass the best, he supposed. Whatever that meant. She pulled the goggles on and asked if she looked date ready. He laughed, but gave a nod, mostly to flatter her. “Sure.” he winked. She was a very cute girl, Sav would admit, but he didn’t really think the goggles did her any favors. The fact that she was open to this weird new thing, did though. Sav didn’t like when girls shied away from new experiences. He waited for her to finish getting ready before they walked over to the man, who was standing next to a large, metal, cauldron type of thing, with a metal rod in his hand.

DECKED HEAD TO TOE IN PROTECTIVE GEAR ANA wondered how this would be deemed 'romantic'. But, then again, she thrummed with excitement. And that, of course, Blishwick was a genius. His match-making powers had put her on the perfect, unique kind of date. Danger, intrigue and fire! All things she surely shouldn't be allowed near, but always wished to be. It was the competitive spark in her.
"I knew it," She said confidently, though she was sure she'd looked better. Ana liked to think her best outfit was her football strip, but she'd make do. They walked across the factory floor together, and Ana nudged him when they got nearer to the great big oven. The heat oppressive as they watched the guide twirl a metal rod in circles. Clockwise, and then anti-clockwise. As if her were spinning twine inside there. She squinted behind her goggles, watching a glowing orb form inside.
"Do you see that?" Ana said, her eyes and mouth wide with wonder. "It's so cool!" They lined up to take turns in their massive gloves, each given the opportunity to shape and then reshape the same bulb of glowing, melted glass. And then blowing air bubbles inside to inflate it. Her face was terribly red, but she blew twice as hard so as not to be outdone by Savtaj. Afterwards, they were told, they would get to paint a creation of their own. She figured that was when they would truly be left to their own devices. Which sounded deliciously dangerous.
Ana asked for her piece of be fashioned in to the shape of a dragon. She'd figured a football would be too simple. It was deceptively muggle in shape and anatomy, but she was pleased nonetheless. "What're you getting?" She asked Sav, watching her little dragon have its wings clipped in jagged, scaly shapes, the glass hardening quickly.

After their lesson they were told that they would get something to paint on their own for the rest of their time here. Ana asked for an object to be made in the shape of a dragon and Sav wasn’t sure what to ask for. The only thing he really cared about was Quidditch, but they were here in muggle London, he wouldn’t very well ask for a bludger to be made. He could ask for a bat, he supposed, but that was kind of a boring shape. Though he supposed he could paint it with a complex pattern to make it more fun. “Sure I’ll get a unicorn.” he decided with a little smirk down to her. If she was getting a magical creature, he would too. But these muggles would just think they were being silly with mythical creatures. Sav wasn’t particularly fond of Unicorns, but he thought it’d be fun anyway. After their objects had been made and were cool enough to touch, they took them over to a little table and sat on stools while they painted it. “Suppose I make a blue unicorn. What do you think my roommates would think about it sitting on a shelf in the dorm for the rest of the year?” he asked. He continued to paint and talk and laugh until he had finished his bright blue unicorn with a bright yellow horn until it was done.

LIFTING A DELICATE BROW, ANA SHOT A SMIRK at Sav as the oblivious muggle nodded diligently before shaping a rather anatomically incorrect Unicorn. She nudged him as he made the horn far too long. Even going so far as to add two little wings at the back. "Look," Ana said as they stood before them, waiting while they cooled as the instructor wandered off. "It's imaginary as your winning streak." She beamed at him, her fingers itching to reach out and grab the piece of glass, completely unfazed by the possibility of being burned.
And then, as they finally sat down to paint them. Ana grabbing a mixture of reds and yellows, she hummed at Sav. "Blue?" She replied, twirling her paint brush between her fingers, legs swinging from the stool under her. "Yellow is better." She preened, shaking her hair out over her shoulder. "Unless we switch at the end." She lifted her chin in a dare. "I'll give you my dragon if you give me your unicorn." Drawing the brush across the ridge at its back. She was no artist, that was for sure. Sav had a better hand, and she was admiring what he'd done with the odd little creature. "To remember me by."
By the end of the date, Ana's face was still split in a grin. Sav wasn't half as bad as she imagined he'd be. He was funnier than she remembered. She had cupped her little painted dragon close to her chest. almost protectively, but the idea still swirled between them. She wanted that blue Unicorn. In the end it was a wrestle, but she left the building with the unicorn tucked away in her coat. Leaving Sav with an impulsive kiss on the cheek and a wicked smile of thanks. Her face the picture of someone who was convinced they'd won some secret competition.
