Gideon Ollivander isn't your typical fourteen year old. Starting at a young age, he considered himself an 'old soul'...often unable to connect with kids his age because he finds them too immature, or not into the same interests. There are days he leans toward the grumpy 'stay off my lawn' - "old soul" type, too. Impatient and often moody, Giddy doesn't like to wait for anything. You can't blame a kid who has been handed everything on a silver spoon his entire life. Gideon enjoys travel in many forms. Muggle airplane had been one of the most luxurious when given the opportunity to travel in first class. He and his mother have travelled many places together, a passion they share and bond over. Gideon is a mama's boy and knows it, but gets offended whenever people accuse him of being one. As he's become a teenager, he's been starting to rebel from his mothers word, which has been very difficult for him since he cherishes the relationship he has with his mother, but teenage angst is strong.

If he's not good at something after the first time trying it, he loses interest immediately. Gideon doesn't like to look like he's bad at anything, even if it's a subject he doesn't care about. It's more of an ego thing. Gideon hates to be wrong and is very prideful, but any time someone will try to give him a taste of his own medicine by correcting them, he becomes very defensive or mister innocent. He's very unpredictable, it all depends on if he's having a good day or not. Gideon is a bit dramatic and he blames it on his mom. Well, she did expose him to all of the best things in life, he can't blame her for his exquisite taste. Gideon carries an 'I'm better than you', self righteous attitude.

While attending Hogwarts, Gideon often socializes with kids in his house and year, but it's usually someone that's going to benefit him somehow. When he's paired with someone that may bring his grade down, or he just doesn't like them, he won't hesitate to raise his hand and request a seat change. He won't ever pretend to like someone just to make things less awkward. Often, kids are intimidated by him, which he likes. It's a sense of power. Gideon spends a lot of time on his school work and studying but he won't tutor people. That takes patience and compassion, both traits Gideon lacks. He doesn't need the constant reminder of how stupid everyone around him is.

Gideon Ollivander was born and raised in Godric Hollow's, England, to Veronica Ollivander and ____ ____ on March 30, 2010. Starting at a very young age, he was exposed to the finer things in life,: dining, travelling, fancy parties, and 'treating yourself'. All of the following have sculpted him into the exquisite teenager he is today. Growing up in a luxurious home, he's never had to get his hands dirty, or clean up after himself. Gideon is used to having wait staff in his home and house elves to take care of any chores, living a very entitled and lavish life. The only real 'work' Gideon has ever been exposed to is wandmaking, which he enjoys greatly. As an Ollivander, it's to be expected, kind of like breathing.

At the age of 3 years old, Gideon showed signs of magic, which thrilled and relieved his mother greatly. He always had a knack for getting into what he wasn't supposed to at his Great-Grandfathers shop; one day he got a hold of a wand in the shop and started waving it around.. Flames spouted out of the end and a small ~explosion occurred, destroying several windows and product...but it was a great sign that there was magic in him. Thank, Sweet Baby Merlin. The Ollivanders couldn't deal with another Squib in the family (*cough* Veronica). They awaited several years for his Hogwarts letter to arrive, but his mother showed him the ropes of wandmaking and wandlore much before his acceptance letter came. He was making brooms to carve something out of wood, despite having no interest in flying because he has a crippling fear of heights.

Before Gideon arrived at Hogwarts, he researched the history of Hogwarts and the houses. He knew long before reading about the houses that he wanted to be Slytherin because he was desperately straying away from the dorky reputation that Ravenclaw upheld. He yearned to seem more powerful to his peers. Much to his pleasure, he was sorted into Slytherin. He's never had trouble fitting in with his housemates, though the recent addition to the Ilvermorny students has certainly saturated the formerly prestigious house.

Gideon is unaware of the true reason of his parents' recent divorce. His mother left his father and took custody of Gideon after he lied about being a Pureblood. Gideon innocently thinks that they fell out of love and were fighting a lot, but that was only a small part of it. Now that he may catch word of the pureblood scandal from someone at school, the kind of relationship he'll have with his mother or his father is up in the air, but he's currently favoring his mother because she spoils him rotten. His father has always been the one pressuring him to participate in sports and quidditch, or being outside, when he has zero interest in fresh air and the freeing feeling of the great outdoors. Yuck.

While Gideon has been at Hogwarts, he has been an outstanding student from the very start. He spends a good amount of his time studying and bettering his skills in any way he can, often asking questions in class or volunteering. He's not embarrassed easily unless if he answers something wrong or doesn't get something perfect the first time. Gideon loves to shoves his academic achievements in his peers faces. After Gideon graduates from Hogwarts, he hopes that his mother will allow him to apprentice the shop and eventually take it over. If anyone else tries to take Ollivanders away from him, he will raise hell until he has his way, or make everyone else's' lives a living Hell in the process until he gets what he wants.

The day of the dragon attacks in Hogsmeade, Gideon was with friends enjoying the winter festivities when chaos broke loose. He was able to get away with a couple of scratches and bruises, which he wears with pride, calling them 'battle wounds'. Gideon was excited being able to use defensive magic in a real life situation, but he was more worried that Ollivanders was going to burn down or be destroyed at any moment.

Ilvermorny students are annoying to him but he will be decent to them because he knows he has to be... There have been times he's complained about the over crowdedness and having to share books, as well as other petty complaints. Gideon doesn't feel fear towards the current state of the world because he believes he's safest at Hogwarts, and he's an ignorant kid who thinks he's invincible in general. Gideon thinks about him mum a lot and hopes that she's safe.
