overall personality:
Extremely driven when it comes to her passions (Quidditch and tennis), Faye will drop anything and everything to take part in them. Schoolwork takes a backseat to both sports and socialization, though she does know how to maintain a balance where her grades don’t dip low enough that it would put her Quidditch position in jeopardy. Having to stay after in classes or meet up with a professor outside of class time makes her antsy, jonesing to get to the things that will more than likely benefit her future. Think of her as a horse girl, minus the horse and an insane obsession with Quidditch.
When it comes to team practices, she likes to have everything running on time and in an orderly fashion, almost to a perfectionist level. That’s how seriously she takes it. There are definitely times where she butts heads with the rest of the team and can come across as arrogant and selfish because she believes a team slacking off will negatively impact her potential to be looked at by recruiters.
With anything outside of athletics, her mind tends to wander. Her intense focus on it causes her to come across as a bit of a klutz: tripping on stairs, dropping her books, bumping into other students. The only important dates in her calendar are her family’s birthdays and when Quidditch practices and matches are held. Trying to arrange any sort of social interaction with her needs to be repeated multiple times and has to be written down by the other party so that she’ll see it. Other than that, the social events she does find herself at usually end up with her chatting away about Quidditch or blabbering on about whatever pops into her head first. Philosophy is not her forte.
When inquiring about her goals, she would rather push the subject aside, afraid that making any sort of solid commitment means she has to be married to it for the rest of her life. Even though she’s deadest on becoming a professional Quidditch player, she’s scared that proclaiming that she’ll hit it big will make it that much harder to do so. For the time being, Faye prefers to go with the flow, and if that happens to take her to a pro team, then so be it (and it better!).

history:
Her parents met in their late twenties, and, after a few years of dating and secrecy on Grace Jones’s part about her magical history, the news was broke immediately after Patrick’s proposal. The Jones family had been pushing their daughter to tell him for a while at that point but she was scared of what that could end up doing to a person so set in his muggle ways. Fact was fact and fiction was fiction with Patrick Dooley, and Grace was more likely to give up on her magical life than to tell him everything.
Faye likes to imagine that the first time her mum broke the news that she was a witch to her father went horribly wrong, despite them both saying otherwise. A very stoic man, Patrick Dooley likes dealing in facts and absolutes: mathematics, sciences, the sorts of things all muggles agree to be truth without fail. To her, the odds of her mother winning him over after breaking news like that had the potential to throw the poor man into an existential crisis. And yet he denies this ever happening and that it was simply another ‘truth’ hidden from him. Maybe twenty years of marriage and three magical children later really cemented the facts and changed the man enough that his memory did as well.
Regardless, they were married in 2004 and spent the next few years with Grace introducing her husband to the things in her world, much to his amazement and wonder. A few years later and their first child, a boy, was born. A whirlwind next couple of years and Faye and her younger sister were added to the family, and it went from there.
Growing up, Faye would say that she got the best of both worlds: all of the cool oddities of the magical one and the safety of the muggle one. An extremely active child, her parents always had to keep an eye on her. Attempting to climb onto the kitchen counters to look at the cupboards up high or any of the trees around the house was a common occurrence with her, and more than a few times she fell from both. Unafraid of heights, the only natural next step was to stick her on a broom and see what would happen, and Faye took to it immediately. Soon it was Quidditch everything, and the middle Dooley child was beyond obsessed. Birthday and Christmas gifts could only be related to Quidditch, and she constantly begged her mother to take her to matches for the Irish National team.
Finding out that first year students normally didn’t make the house Quidditch teams had her beyond bummed out by the time she made it to Hogwarts. Despite her hard work and intimidating, albeit squeaky, disposition as a little girl, she wasn’t even considered as a possible player on the Slytherin team until her third year, in which she ended up as a reserve to the reserve players and spent most of her time fielding dropped quaffles and cleaning up the pitch after practice.
Fourth year, she focused more on her Quidditch game than she did schoolwork, and it finally started to pay off. She moved up into a reserve spot as a chaser, even though her first choice position was as a seeker. The captain at the time finally acknowledged her as more than just a kid helping out. This was the confidence booster that she needed to keep trying for a playing position, and her fifth year is when it would all work out.

site events reaction:
Except the announcement of the Triwizard Tournament put a stop to that. With the events of the tournament taking precedent over Quidditch matches, the season was cancelled and the team was forced to turn to practice games and ways to improve for the next year. Finally as a position player, Faye was sort of sore over the fact that the other two schools intruding meant that she couldn’t play Quidditch. She didn’t even think the tournament was all that great!
A wash for her fifth year, she changed her tune at the end of the year when the Durmstrang and Beauxbatons students were killed. She had made friends with a few of them, enough so that they left an impact on her, and reading that they were almost all gone was heartbreaking. Putting it into perspective with her own life, she knew that there were plenty with siblings just like she had, and losing either of them would be devastating.
Having the summer to reflect on this and be a little warmer with her own siblings, Faye returned to Hogwarts for her sixth year, with the addition of the Ilvermorny students. She viewed them as invaders, a few of which were vying after a Quidditch position that was finally hers. Making the team once again, she was content with being friends with them now that she felt less threatened.
The rest of the first term went on as normal, and with Christmas break, the dragon attack at Hogsmeade happened. Faye was unfortunately there with her younger sister at the time, though luckily not in the part of the town that was hit the hardest. They were able to easily find an evacuation area and escape the destruction with only a few scrapes and bruises from the panicked crowd. Since then, she has had a number of nightmares where she’s being chased by a dragon while on her broom, in which almost all of them she is overtaken by the creature.
