Jan. 25, 2025 Dom apparated into Hogsmeade, ready for work. Instead of heading towards Honeydukes, however, she started wandering through the place. A while ago she received an invitation to Riley's engagement party. She highly doubted he was excited for the party (since she knew he wasn't thrilled to be engaged in the first place), so she felt like she had to go. The problem was, the people in charge of this party were hoity-toity purebloods that were likely only having the party to show off as much as they could before the big day. Dom hated doing things with people like that, but she had a plan. A plan involving a certain handsome, fun blonde guy she'd met a few months ago. So she came to Hogsmeade over an hour early, all prepped for work and all, but with the intention of finding Joe before she had to start working. It would be a whole lot easier, and a lot more fun, if she could see him on her own terms. Besides that, she liked hanging out with him and just being able to talk and flirt. Her only worry was that he might not come to the village before she had to work. That was the risk she ran though, since she didn't write him and ask him to meet her here early. She wandered the village, poking her head into all the shops as she looked around for him, but she couldn't find him anywhere. He probably wasn't here yet, so Dom sighed and started looking in windows, glancing around constantly to see if he'd arrived yet or not. @joseph

January 25, 2025Joe never missed a Hogsmeade weekend. Whenever there was a chance to leave the castle, you know that he'd take it, especially if it meant that he had the opportunity to see his favorite redheaded girl. This morning Joe headed to Hogsmeade in hopes to check out the quidditch supply store. He needed to get a new can of polish for his broom. So he headed to Hogsmeade at the usual time he'd go, in hopes that he'd see Dom there. He knew to come earlier because she would sometimes wander around before her shift at Honeydukes, he knew from firsthand experience.
As Joe entered Hogsmeade village from the path leading to and from Hogwarts, he immediately saw Dominique browsing the shop windows. There was no missing that red hair and her cute frame. Joe quickly approached, careful not to approach from behind this time, he didn't want to be attacked. "I had a feeling like I would see you here." he smiled, opening his arms for an embrace. @dominique

Dom didn't see Joe enter Hogsmeade. She got a little too distracted looking at a Quidditch magazine right outside the Quidditch store. She was flipping through the pages, looking at the standings and at different articles about famous Quidditch players. Part of her ached to join them, but Dom ignored that. She'd given up her Quidditch dreams when Ethan died, for good reason. She spun around when she heard the familiar voice, an easy smile crossing her face. "Well hello there Joe," she greeted, stepping into his arms quickly and giving him a hug. She closed her eyes for a moment, appreciating how it felt to have his arms around her. Then she stepped away from him, looking up at him. "So did you come this early for anything particular?" Dom asked in a teasing voice. She had a question to ask him, sure. But that didn't mean it had to be the first thing she said. @joseph

January 25, 2025Joe enjoyed when Dom walked willingly into his arms. They shared a warm embrace, prolonging for an extra second, it had been a while since he'd seen her. When they parted, his eyes met hers when she asked what brought him to Hogsmeade village this morning. "I was hoping to run into a certain redheaded girl. She usually lurks these parts..waiting for her next victim. You?" he teased with a slow smile. Joe loved to tease Dom, she could take it, and she'd dish as much as she'd like - Joe liked it. The statement was somewhat true for him, especially from their very first encounter where her stunningly good looks sent him into a planter. Joe looked up at the quidditch sign above them, "I'm here for polish." he declared simply with a shrug. "Would you care to tag along?" Joe asked hopefully, happy to spend any time he got with his friend.

Dom couldn't help but smile when Joe admitted that he'd come so early hoping to run into her. His description of her lurking and waiting for a victim had her laughing and shaking her head. He thought he was so funny ... it was a good thing she found him charming. Though she also appreciated it when people were confident enough to tease her. It didn't happen super often. He turned the question back around on her. "Well, you know I just can't seem to get enough of this village. Even when I'm not working, I feel drawn here," she answered sarcastically, shrugging helplessly and keeping the smile off her face for the moment. "I guess part of me was hoping to find my last victim ..." Dom added suggestively after a moment. He told her that he needed some polish and Dom nodded when he asked if she wanted to tag along. Her eyes widened a little in surprise. "Wait. You fly?" she asked, a new level of interest in her voice. She knew Joe was fun, but she didn't know this. "Do you play Quidditch?" She followed him into the building, her focus entirely on him. @joseph

January 25, 2025Their typical banter was already off to their usual start. Joe smiled when Doms face transformed into one of more interest. It seemed that they found a subject they hadn't spoken about yet... Quidditch. That wasn't too surprising to him, Dominique seemed like the type who could hold her own on the pitch, or any sport for that matter. She didn't seem like the type who enjoyed losing.
Joe opened the door so that she could walk in first, glad that she easily agreed to tag along with him, he wasn't going to beg her. He smiled, nodding his head when she asked about flying. "Yeah, quidditch is probably my favorite part about Hogwarts." he admitted to her, grabbing a can of polish off of the shelf, he knew the one he wanted. "I'm a Beater through and through." Joe shared, before quirking an eyebrow in her direction. "Something tells me you play too." he accused her playfully, confident that she did by her previous reaction. "Whats your favorite position?" he asked with a boyish snort, waggling his eyebrows. That statement would sound rather salacious if they weren't in the quidditch store.

Dom was definitely interested to learn more about Joe. She hadn't even though to ask him if he liked flying or playing Quidditch. Wait, didn't they have some other version of Quidditch in America? Dom was pretty sure they did ... maybe she'd ask him about that in a minute. She grinned, "Quidditch is the best thing about schooling, period." Yes, Dom was a Ravenclaw and enjoyed learning new things, but Quidditch had been the highlight of her schooling. Especially when she'd been able to fly with Ethan. She watched Joe grab some polish before he admitted that he was a Beater and then he commented that he thought she played too. Dom smirked at him, tossing a lock of hair behind her shoulder. "Yeah, I played when I was in school. I made Quidditch Captain my senior year." Yes she was bragging. Why shouldn't she? Though a second later she was grimacing, "Not that I got to do anything since the Quidditch Tournament was cancelled because of the Triwizard thingy." Honestly, that was the hardest part about her last year. Sure, she still flew a lot, but it wasn't the same as competing. Her smile grew a little as he asked for her favorite position and Dom tilted her head to the side, pretending to be thoughtful. "I think ... I'm going to make you guess that one. Let's see how well you know me," she challenged right back. @joseph

January 25, 2025When Dom shared that they cancelled quidditch due to the Triwizard Tournament, he cocked his head to the side out of surprise, "They cancelled quidditch all year?" Joe asked in disbelief, trying not to gape out of surprise. If that happened to him at Hogwarts this year he would have had a different experience. Quidditch was one of his favorite ways to release, as well as cooking, but he didn't enjoy cooking in the kitchens with the house elves in the way.
Joe thought for a moment when Dom said that she'd let Joe guess what her favorite position to play was. He took the challenge, nodding his head along as he gave her a look over. Mainly because he just liked to look at her, she was easy on the eyes.. "Hmmm...I can see you playing seeker." he scratched his chin thoughtfully, "But y'know what.. A couple of weeks ago when you assaulted me in Hogsmeade you had quite the arm." Joe stated as matter of factly, the memory triggering a pain in his groin. At least Joe was confident that Dom could protect herself in a tricky situation. "So, you could be a beater too. Keeper would be too boring for you." Joe stated confidently, hoping that he was right. Joe loved to talk sports, finding out that Dom played was a pleasant surprise.

Dom grimaced at Joe's question. "Yes and no. They didn't make it so we couldn't practice and play, but there was no Quidditch Tournament and they only let us have one real game, mixed teams and everything." She smirked for a second, "Of course, the team I was leading won, but that was to be expected." Not really. It was luck of the draw, who was on what team. Dom's team did pretty well though and she had a blast playing. She missed that, the feeling of wind in her hair. It was why she was actually starting to consider Finn's proposal. Did she still want to play Quidditch professionally? She didn't know. She listened with a smirk as Joe talked through his reasoning about what position she played. Occasionally she quirked an eyebrow at him or winked, but Dom didn't give any hints. She wanted to see what he thought. She laughed when he mentioned her assaulting him in Hogsmeade. "Okay, that was not my fault. You sneaked up on me like some kind of creepo. How was I supposed to know it was really you?" She chuckled, still amused by that turn of events. "So which is it? Am I a seeker or a beater?" She asked, tilting her head to the side teasingly as she looked up at Joe. He was right on, of course, though now he had a 50-50 chance of getting it right. @joseph

January 25, 2025When Dom explained her year in captaincy, mentioning that it was more of a free for all with one game, he shook his head hating the idea. That sounded like chaos, something he was usually eager for, but not in quidditch. His eyes widened with playful dramatic effect, although he meant it, "They can't just cancel quidditch like that! If they did that this year that would have been torture." Joe laughed at her confidence. "It's no surprise that you won. I don't see losing being an option for you." he winked playfully.
He was pretty sure by the strength of her punch last time that she would probably be a beater. Dom didn't seem like the kind of girl to be a chaser or keeper, he took pride in himself looking at someone and guessing their position by their build or personality. Joe believed that he was a beater by heart because of his undying love for contact sports and having the reason to hit someone with something, it was a great deal. Joe scratched his chin thoughtfully, "Beater, with a minor in seeking." he answered firmly, locking in his final answer with a solid nod. He raised his eyebrows at her to see if his answer was correct.

In the very least, Joe could appreciate the irritation Dom felt when Quidditch was taken from her during her last year. She appreciated the obvious annoyance on his face when he shook his head. He clearly liked the game a lot, which made her feel a bit more drawn to him, though Dom hardly noticed that. She made a face, "They did. I'm glad you get Quidditch this year though. If they found reasons to cancel it two years in a row, they might have had a rebellion on their hands," she chuckled a little. She smirked when he complimented her, saying he wasn't surprised that she won. "Yeah, I tend to not lose at anything, do I?" she returned the playful banter, giving him a quick look-over to tease him. She loved how easy it was to just be herself around Joe. He understood her and didn't make her explain her words or her actions. It was fun. Dom laughed when Joe finally answered, saying that she was a beater with a minor in seeking. "I'm sure I could be a decent seeker if I wanted to be, but you're right. Beating is my favorite." And she was good at it. The bludgers always went where she wanted them to, even if they didn't end up hitting the person she was aiming at. "Maybe sometime we could play or something." It would be interesting to see him fly. Dom actually found herself wishing she could be at Hogwarts for a game. She wanted to see Joe play. She laughed, about ready to change the subject. "Aren't you curious to know why I came to Hogsmeade so early though?" Dom teased with a wink. It just wasn't her nature to simply tell him. She had to tease him about it first, see if her being here brought any questions to his mind, or if he was just having fun while she was there. "I'll give you a hint, it doesn't have to do with my shift, which doesn't start for about forty-five minutes ..." she trailed off, curious to see how Joe would respond to that. @joseph

January 25, 2025Joe found the conversation about quidditch an easy one to discuss. It was one of his favorite topics, other than cooking, so it was always a treat when he met a girl who could hold her own on the quidditch pitch. Joe was somewhat surprised quidditch hadn't ever come up in the past with them. "Yeah, that would be great. We should definitely play sometime." he agreed easily, actually really liking that idea.
When Dom asked him if he was curious why she was in Hogsmeade so early, he shrugged his shoulders. Honestly, he didn't really think of it. He had a feeling like she was about to tell him. "Oh, so you didn't come down to Hogsmeade on Hogsmeade Weekend to see your favorite Hogwarts student?" he asked her expectantly, puffing out his chest and raising his eyebrows at her with a smile.

Dom smirked when Joe agreed that they should play. "Deal. As long as you promise not to throw a fit when I beat you," she teased with a smirk. She hadn't seen Joe play, but she had a feeling that he would be a formidable opponent, and Dom's feelings like that were generally correct. Joe seemed to perk up as he teased her about coming to Hogsmeade to see his favorite student. Dom smirked, taking a step closer to him. "Well ... it did have a bit to do with my favorite Hogwarts student," she looked up at him with a smile. " ... and inviting him to go to that engagement party with me next month. D'you think he might be interested in something like that?" Dom winked up at him, expecting him to say yes, of course. After how much fun they had together at Christmas, why wouldn't he want to go to another party with her? @joseph

January 25, 2025Joe liked the idea of playing with Dom. That was an activity they hadn't partook in together yet, it would be fun to see how well she flew on a broom. Plus, Joe loved any reason to get out on a broom and knock a bludger around. When the redhead made a joke about him not making a fit when she won, he smirked, "I can't make any promises." he joked playfully with an eyebrow waggle. Everyone that knew Joe knew he was a horrible loser. Dom probably already knew that.
Then, she mentioned wanting to ask her favorite Hogwarts student to an 'engagement party' next month, "Oooh, you mean Riley and Prissy's Engagement Party?" he asked with a chuckle, confident that was what she meant. Everyone was talking about it lately. Joe nodded his head, always down for the idea of a date, especially with Dom. "You were my date, I think it would only be fair that I return the favor and be your date." he agreed easily, it didn't take him any time to think about it. He leaned in to rephrase that a bit, taking a step toward her, mainly because he liked being close to Dom. "Although this is no 'favor'...going out with you is more of a treat for me." he told her honestly, offering her a soft kiss on the cheek. It was more to try to flatter her a bit, and he liked to kiss her. They never took things too seriously, everything was lighthearted and fun. Hanging out with Dom was easy because it didn't feel like there were any strings attached.

Dom laughed when Joe refused to promise not to make a fit. Yes, she knew he was teasing, but he amused her. He was easy to talk to and hang out with. That was part of the reason why the two of them meshed so well. He understood her on a level that not many people did, because he was fundamentally the same. "Fine. It'll be fun to see you lose and freak out in the same day then," she teased with a smirk. He'd probably be able to hold himself together, at least a bit, but it was still fun to tease him. He knew exactly what she was referring to, coming outright and asking. Dom smiled and nodded to confirm. So he knew of the party. The question now was whether or not he wanted to go with her. The way he was smiling at her though ... she was fairly certain she already knew the answer. She'd still wait for him to tell her though. She beamed when he agreed, thinking that maybe she would be able to have fun at that party, even if she still believed that her best friend would be making the biggest mistake of his life. Still, maybe Joe could distract her from that. "Oooh, so being with me is a treat?" she answered with a smile. "I'll remember that the next time I need someone fun to do something with me." It really was a shame he was a student. They could have a lot more fun if he wasn't. Oh well. @joseph (wanna close this one out?)
