February 2025Gravel crunched under his feet as Travis quickly scurried past an opening in the chain link fence, remaining tucked close to the wall of the building until he reached the broken window he'd climb into. Rachel and Travis had been using the abandoned factory in Muggle London as a hideout between heists in the area for over a month now. Today they tried something different and split up to cover more ground. An idea he didn't think he'd be willing to execute, but he was getting bursts of confidence since using magic again. Muggles were easy to pickpocket and take advantage of. It was almost unfair how easy it was to get away from them.
As he entered the old factory his nostrils were greeted with the smell of musky mildew. It was apparent that this particular location in London had been forgotten about by the public many years ago. The ground was covered in trash and the walls in colorful, abstract graffiti. Up above the rafters, the staircases were rickety and dangerous, with some levels leading to nowhere. Broken glass and shards of steel hung from the ceiling, threatening to fall at any moment.
The abandoned factory was an ideal hideout with the countless places to hide. Travis and Rachel never stayed long, it was more of a waiting spot, but they studied the building every chance they got so they'd know it like the back of their hand.
Travis lit a cigarette, taking a drag as he anxiously awaited Rachel to join him.

@will next! February 2025 All Finn wanted to do today was get visual surveillance of the no-maj factory that had been reported as a potential location for a criminal enterprise. Over the last year and a half she had passed by this building dozens of times, never paying it much heed because there weren’t any warning signs that a magical person would use it as a place to lay low. The only individuals she had seen loitering around were the homeless and maybe the occasional transaction for a drug deal. The strand of information that had been fed to her through her recently reignited Auror connections was just that: a strand of information. Usually this meant she was only going to be marking the building off as a potential spot and leaving it be – nothing more than that. In her opinion, it was a pretty poor location to hide out in if you didn’t want to be hassled by a rats or a tweaker, but orders were orders and she had to act on them in some capacity so that she could move onto more important things.
Today, she decided to bring Will along with her, because why not? They had been trying to jumpstart their silly little Ouroboros missions again, and if that meant combining her knowledge between MACUSA, the Ministry, and Ouroboros, then she would do so. Will was beyond trustworthy and he was accomplished enough as a wizard where having him along would make a difference if anything bad were to happen. The higher-ups couldn’t really get angry at her if she wandered into a nest of criminals on accident while she was with her boyfriend. That would be ridiculous. That, of course, was assuming they would care in the first place. Lee had practically given her freedom to do whatever she wanted as long as she stayed within the legal guidelines, and even then Finn was ready to bend and twist those to whatever she needed them to be.
“So apparently this is the place,” Finn whispered to Will as they walked slowly around the edge of the building. “Want to go in?” she asked as she stopped in front of a small opening in the chain-link fence they had been skirting along. “Worst thing that could be in there is a homeless dude and his dog,” Finn added, raising an eyebrow at Will, daring him to follow her as she ducked through gap and waltzed up to the broken window directly across from it. She slipped her wand out from her jacket pocket and cast Homenum Revelio, the charm that revealed any human presence that may be in the vicinity. She felt two hits, one which was obviously Will behind her, and another from somewhere in the building. “Looks like we’ve got a homeless guy on our hands. If he starts screaming we’ll just back off and call it a day.” Extending her legs through the broken window, Finn entered the abandoned factory.
[Note: The Humenum Revelio charm has a sort of alert that notifies the user of how many humans are nearby, as well as the person being 'targeted'. Will and Travis will more than likely feel an airy weight of some sort, so whether or not they know what that means (we should assume Will might get it because he watched the spell be cast) is up to you. If you want Travis to be jumped, then ignore this. If you want him to be ready to fight immediately, go ahead and feel that spell]

Will was just happy to be out doing something magical, rather than focusing so much on his duties as future King and all... Plus, he needed to relieve the stress. Finn had her big bad job now, which meant he saw less of her, but also meant that she was able to get more information to do important things. He was excited about the prospect of spending more meaningful time with her, saving the world and all that. It made him miss being a curse breaker... He liked watching Finn work. She was smart, calm, calculated. It was a side of her he hadn't seen that much, and there really was no downside. Sure, he never really liked other people taking the lead, but that was a little different when it was his girlfriend. Plus, he wasn't dumb enough to ignore the fact that she had all the training in his stuff and he didn't. When they arrived, she asked if he wanted to go in, that the worst thing they could find is a homeless dude and his dog. ”Sure, and maybe the dog's cute,” he whispered back with a shrug. She was already ducking under the fence, and he followed. There was a broken window, which she cast a charm against it suggesting there was indeed someone in the building. He felt the strange weight pressing over him for a moment before it vanished. He nodded at her suggestion. ”Yeah, let's check it out. If nothing else at least we can have a full report of following through on the broken window,” he agreed. He moved to help her climb through the window, then climbed in after her. Once inside, Will took a step up to Finn to stand close to her, enough that their shoulders were touching as he looked the opposite direction she was. ”I would suggest splitting up...” he whispered, ”but let's stick together for now,” he didn't cast the lumos spell, not sure if that was against protocol or something. But he squinted, seeing something up ahead, ”there's water spilled over here, looks like steps passed near it,” he nodded toward the marks. finn kylie nottingham@rachel @travis (travis again?)

February 2025Travis' feet crunched under broken glass as he ducked her a fallen beam, trekking deeper into the abandoned factory. The deeper he went, the more muskier the air got, and the more comfortable he got because he was confident he could get out of this place if he needed to. Rachel and Travis had studied the factory for weeks, they knew it like the back of their hand.
A heavy, drafty, breeze ruffled his hair. Something he didn't think anything of, due to being too focused on the cigarette that he was enjoying. He would regret that later.
The Azkaban escapee didn't hear anyone enter the building, and if he had, he would have thought that it was counterpart Rachel. Travis had gotten a little too comfortable at their hiding spot.

@will next! February 2025 Finn looked back at Will and gave him a funny look when he suggested that maybe the homeless guy’s dog would be cute. Cute and loud. She loved dogs, but street dogs were more protective than the pedigreed canines Will was more than likely used to at home. Not that he ever seemed like he was sheltered, but she had probably spent more time on the streets dealing with them than he had. Fleas were the worst too, and she had gotten them exactly once while doing an undercover stint back home and never wanted to get them again. They were like a traveling circus and poor Bruce got the full brunt of it. Explaining how he got them to the vet had been pretty embarrassing for her. “As long as it doesn’t have rabies, you can pet it,” she teased, giving him a pat on the back as she stepped further into the darkness of the building.
It had the sort of vastness where, even if it was completely void of life other than theirs and the mystery individual, it still felt like they could be watched from off in the distance somewhere. High rafters of steel beams, it was a skeleton of its former self, only useful to whomever was dwelling further in. Finn sort of hoped they spotted the individual first, instead of the other way around. She disliked disturbing the homeless, mostly because this was their ‘home’ in a sense, similarly to how she didn’t like having people barging into her apartment or knocking on her door relentlessly. “Scared?” Finn joked, gently poking him in the ribs with her elbow. “Good eye. I definitely wouldn’t have seen those without light…” she knelt down to look at the marks closer. One was only half of a footprint, but the other had a full one. Unless it was a giant woman, it definitely looked like a man had passed through recently.
Motioning to Will with her hand, she started walking deeper into the building. It still felt like there were a million pairs of eyes watching them as they walked through the center room even though she knew that was impossible. The homeless person was probably holed up somewhere in a tiny room, far away from anywhere they were going to be. “If you see anything, don’t be afraid to yell. There’s two of us and one of them,” she said quietly back to Will. Similar to scaring off a wild animal, they had numbers if it came to it. And magic, but she wasn’t into beating up homeless people with spells.

She said he could protect the dog if it didn't have rabies, which made him chuckle very quietly. "Yeah, I figured as much. Don't really have a death wish." She asked if he as scared, nudging him, and he narrowed his eyes at her, "oh yes, so scared," he said, his tone sarcastic. "I've never been anywhere creepy in my life, especially not as a curse breaker," he challenged. That was how he had noticed someone passed by the water, he was used to looking for random, obscure clues in strange places. He missed those days. Just when he had been thinking about doing a little more wizarding work... nope, not anymore. She knelt down and he bent down beside her, studying the prints more as well. She motioned for him to follow and of course he did. This place was incredibly creepy, in the sense that it felt like the rats in the walls were super smart and forming an attack against you. Like rats from Nihm or something. She said if he saw anything to yell, since there was two of them. Either way he wouldn't let her get hurt, even if there were twenty people around. He stepped up beside her slowly, letting his hand brush against the back of her wrist as they moved side by side. Finally, he saw signs of life when they turned a few corners. Someone was in the next room, he could see just a tiny bit of their shoulder through a slat in the wall. He took Finns hand and nodded forward, then held a finger to his lips. finn kylie nottingham@travis next

February 2025Travis leaned up against a rickety old desk, exhaling as he peered outside a window that had shards missing. He wondered what was taking Rachel so long. Whenever they decided to split up, time inched always by slower, which made him regret ever doing it. Every single time. The man snuffed the cigarette on the desk and flicked it onto the ground.
Then, behind him, he heard movement...causing him to freeze and listen to his surroundings rather than scurry, but it was too late... A chill creeped up his spine. Someone was there with him...

@will next! February 2025 A quiet chuckle escaped from her, immediately being stifled by both of her hands over her mouth, as Will responded to her sarcastically about never being in scary places before. She always forgot that he had done a stint as a cursebreaker. The normally prim and proper gentleman going tomb raiding and handling dangerous magical objects was something she really wanted to see in person. Not that royal Will Windsor was a bad thing by any means – but his background in the cursebreaking field was certainly an upgrade in her books. That meant he knew how to handle himself in dangerous situations, and she was always finding a multitude of those to stumble into. “I think you’ll do wonderfully if we bump into any ghouls or goblins. If it’s a goblin, all we have to do is throw that watch of yours at it,” she continued the tease.
The only problem was that the footprint they found was too large for a goblin and ghouls didn’t leave physical prints, at least in her experience. So as they continued twisting through the corridors of the building, she wasn’t exactly surprised as Will stopped and grabbed her hand, quietly indicating that there was something on the other side of the wall they were at. Peering through the small gap, she saw the person’s shoulder. The sudden rush of adrenaline had her mind buzzing with the next step in her plan. She was positive that they hadn’t been spotted yet, and quickly made the wand motions to cast a silent muggle-repelling charm. In theory, the homeless person on the other side of the wall would remember they needed to be somewhere else and head off to do that. It was the easiest way to get rid of the person safely, because she had no idea what they were capable of. That and it would conceal their identities as opposed to storming in and bothering the poor person.

She suggested he throw his watch at a goblin and he glared at her, wrinkling his nose a little. "Ha, Ha," he whispered. Soon they were seeing their culprit and she cast a charm, but nothing really happened. The person just continued to stand there... but then Will shifted, moving to get a better look at the man's profile. It looked... familiar. Will was having trouble placing him. But... since the guy didn't react to Finns spell, Will figured that he was probably not a muggle homeless man. Plus, his clothes didn't really suggest that he was anyone struggling that much. This was Finns thing, though, so Will didn't think he should do anything about opening the door... finn kylie nottingham @travis (lol, colin, you have to start the fight )

February 2025Travis looked down at his watch, cursing at the time because Rachel still wasn't there. The longer they were apart from each other, the more on edge he got. Travis' back faced the door as he looked out the window to if she were about to enter. She wasn't anywhere in sight outside. Wind whistled through broken windows, making it very hard to hear if anyone else was around.

@will next! February 2025 The man sitting on the other side didn’t move when the muggle repelling charm was cast. Finn swallowed, her mouth dry when she realized that the man was obviously of some sort of magical origin since he didn’t get up and leave. When she had cast the spell, she figured the guy would get up, suddenly remembering some fictional thing he had to do. But he didn’t. She reached out and touched Will’s arm, shaking her head to signal that the spell hadn’t had an effect on the man. She had no idea what to do now. The only reason she had brought Will in with her was because she had been positive that nobody would be inside – this was the complete opposite of that. While they had the upper hand with two of them, she had no idea who this man was on the other side of the wall and what he was capable of. Catching him off guard and disarming him would be the only way to really take control of the situation if they were going to jump in.
Biting down on her lip while trying to decide, she stared up at Will and let out a long exhale, nodding at him as she slid through a small doorway off to their right. He could either follow her or stay behind, watching in case she needed the help. Giving him a game plan here would be difficult and risky, because there was no telling if the man could hear them from where they were.
Finn twirled her wand around in her hand, raising it up at the man’s back as she found her way behind him. “MACUSA. State you name, and don’t even think about reaching for a wand,” Finn barked at the man, her voice sounding foreign and a lot deeper than it normally was as it echoed throughout the factory’s rafters.

She placed a hand on his arm and shook her head. Okay, so the spell did nothing... that wasn't great. Will wanted to clear his throat, but didn't. He waited, watching her, looking for a signal. He didn't have the leading jurisdiction in this, so he wasn't going to take that lead. Finally, she let out an exhale, nodding, and he tightened his grip on his wand. She slid through the doorway and he followed, not wanting to let her go in there alone. Whether it was the most logical choice or not didn't matter. He cared about Finn, and that would always be the number one thing on his mind. Her safety first, mission second. Sorry, not sorry. She pointed her wand at the man's back and Fin stayed right behind her, not wanting to overstep her words. His wand was also raised at the man, and Will's brow was furrowed. Whatever the man did next would lead the next part of their game plan... which was being improvised. finn kylie nottingham@travis

THREAD WARNING: PG 13
This post includes mild language & violence. February 2025Travis noticed the building had gone eerily quiet. He was about to look over his shoulder out the door when suddenly he heard a voice shout at him through the doorway. They gruffly stated MACUSA, demanding for his name. Oh, hell no. He wasn't going to give up his freedom without a fight and/or blood shed.
The criminal would have just apparated out of scene, but he was waiting for Rachel still. Somehow, he needed to buy time... She'd be there at any moment! If he left in a rush like he wanted to, they'd catch her instead of him. Merlin, Travis remembered a time when he would have only cared about himself and say screw anyone else, but Rachel was his partner and lover.
Freezing in his tracks, his eyes landed on the female. She didn't look like a cop but she was sure acting like one. Travis felt a wave of desperation overcome him. Hell, he wasn't going to give in easily and he wasn't going back to Azkaban, he'd rather end his life.
They were blocking the doorway though - his only exit. He didn't like feeling trapped. Taking a breath in, the mans jaw clenched and he didn't say a word. There was a crazy glint in his eyes and he was sweating bullets, adrenaline was raging through him. It was now or never. He didn't reach for his wand... there wasn't enough time for that. Travis charged toward the door to aggressively push the young woman out of the way with all of his might, not yet noticing that someone was with her. First he needed to get past the human barriers to make his escape.

▲ Finn had no idea how this was going to go down. There were infinite possibilities and an almost endless amount of outcomes to each of those. Will had walked up next to her, though was off to her side a ways. That was good placement on his part. Keeping distance between them would prevent both of them being taken out at the same time if it came to that. Finn was fairly confident with her casting speed, and Will had mentioned that he was a cursebreaker at one point, so she was fine with him doing more nuanced spells if necessary. Her arsenal typically consisted of blasting objects (namely walls) and hitting heavy. Restraining an attacker without knocking them out first was almost completely unheard of for her. Of course the guy didn’t reach for his wand. In that regard, he was obeying her order. The problem now, though, was that Finn hadn’t anticipated him to bull rush her the way he did, and he was a lot bigger and built than she had noticed while he was sitting down. If it came to a fist fight, her recent boxing lessons with Andy would probably play their part, but he was still bigger than her. Keeping her wand in her hand just in case, Finn quickly braced for what ended up being an aggressive push, and she took the full brunt of it, getting sent backwards into the frame of the door she had just exited. She managed to stick her left leg out as she went down to the ground though, in a half-assed attempt to trip the man if he tried to go through the doorway. Other than that, she hoped Will would manage to send off a stunner spell or two to stop the guy. [We can still continue this even with Will being dropped. Rachel can come in and stun him or we can continue with Finn blowing the building up and burying both of them as the criminals make their escape] @travis ● 298 ● Underneath A Sullen Moon by Shadow Of Intent MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

THREAD WARNING: PG 13
This post includes mild language & violence. February 2025Things were escalating quickly. The shove was somewhat effective, pushing the female past the doorway and to the floor. As she hit the floor there was a quick scuffle in the small doorway as he tried to exit. Her leg extended toward him, tripping him successfully. His body hit the floor, landing on his elbows and back with a thud. Glass crunched under his body, he rolled over quickly and kicked frantically toward the girl, not wanting her to get a grip of him. He was willing to kick her in the face if that was what it took.
Amongst the chaos, Travis was sure that he heard movement toward the front of the building. Hopefully it was Rachel and not more back up. Feeling a sudden burst of desperation, he yelled out, "RAY-" while he attempted to push himself up off of the floor, palms of his hands covered in glass and blood.
