“Dear uncle,
I believe we have something very important to talk about.
How can it be that two weeks after the absolute success that was this last Blishwick Date Roulette, we haven’t exchanged letters about how best to make it happen again? It’d be a shame to our surname if it didn’t.
I swear, in the past few days, I’ve seen people who absolutely hated each other making out under tree, people who we never thought might be a fit turn into adorable couples and, my personal favorite, this pair of best friends who - finally! - found the courage to let each other know how they feel. It’s a terrible thing that you can’t see it with your own eyes, because I’m sure you’d be the most proud.
Personally, I can’t wait for the next year turn, and I know that if we start from now, we can come up with a great theme. After all, Christmas is incredible but let’s be real - it’s a little hackneyed. The same applies to Valentine’s Date, which I love, but is exactly the day you’d imagine for these dates. No, no! I’ve been thinking to myself, we have to come up with something incredible. And I mean, never-before-seen-at-Hogwarts-festivities level of incredible.
On another note, have you found the dress you promised me you would get? Please don’t tell dad, he will get ideas that I’m trying to find a boyfriend or that I need to wear it to impress a boy. In fact, can you tell him to reply to my letters? I bet he has been snowed under work again and forgot to answer the messages (of his only daughter!!!) because of it.
Love you,
from your dear niece,
Cassiopeia Blishwick.”

Dearest Niece, @cassiopeia ,
I’m glad to hear that there were some successes from the blind dates! The gears in my head are always working overtime to figure out the best time and place for when to hold the next one, but I’m afraid that if I send out forms for them too often, they’ll become stale and dry.
The holidays, while unoriginal for romance and fun dates, are also the perfect time to get people out and in the mood. One of the problems I have with these blind dates is that they take away from my business directly. They’re cheap in comparison to my services, and ultimately the attendees are not finding their ‘one true love’, as they would if they went through me. I think that is where you may be mistaken by the results.
With school-aged children like yourself, I don’t expect much in regards to long-term relationships; I think brief moments of passion are fine, but the disclaimer in the footer of the blind date advertisements clearly states that this isn’t a form of sustainable romance. That is, of course, null if the couples want to forgo true love. I don’t want to sound old, but Hogwarts is better off without me trying to spread my influence in it anymore. I offer the blind dates as a way for students to have fun and get to know one another. From the sounds of it, it seems to be working the way I intended it to.
As for that dress of yours, I’ve been having extreme difficulty locating it. I think I have a few leads from a seamstress in Horizon Alley who may be able to help me out. If I obtain the dress in question by the time you respond, I’ll include it in the next letter.
I hit your father over the head with your letter, and he quickly wrote up a response. You should be getting it in the next day or two, as long as that old owl of his doesn’t die mid-flight.
Love, Uncle Jimbo
P.S. Tell that daughter of mine to write home as well. I don't hear from her nearly as often as she says she'll write.

“Dear uncle,
Your words make a lot of sense, though it pains me to think we’ll be prived of the Blishwick’s talents for such humane matters. Lately, I have found drawing increasingly troublesome, which perhaps could be explained by my recent obsession with sketching backgrounds. Perhaps if I were to follow your own advice - or, what could be read as such - and keep myself from illustrating what I see, for a little bit of time, inspiration will come to me in a way I never imagined it might. Who’s to say? I should try!
It has worked the way you intended it to, I suppose, but I must say I find these thoughts of yours to be extremely cynic. After all, much the same way adults - wistfully - divorce each other after years of allegedly indescribable romance, it must be possible for teenagers to find the love of their lives, even in such a young age. After all, some of us have a much better judgment than some grown ups who proclaim themselves experienced and knowledgeable.
I will go further and ask your thoughts on the matter of these dates ultimate influence, specifically to couples who find themselves in a committed relationship to each other, years later. Would you say your influence is a crucial step of the road or they would have found one another either way, for reasons such as fate? I’ve been wondering about this, since people seem to miss each other with an alarming frequency. Wouldn’t it be cruel if chances could be reduced for a simple detail as one refusing to go somewhere or a at-a-wrong-time accident?
Thank you so much, uncle! I adored that dress and cannot see my wardrobe as good enough for the time being if it’s not on my hands. After all, a girl must always have her favorite clothes close enough for every situation, including unlikely ones. Who’s to say there isn’t a party tomorrow and the only fitting attire is what you will send me, hopefully?
He did send me something! That is already on the way, which is why this letter might take a few more days than expected. I’m sorry about the delay, but I didn’t want to have my owl traveling such long distances in one go. Thank you again.
Love you,
Cassiopeia Blishwick
P.S: I have, but she never listens to me. I’m afraid there’s not much I can do to ask, but in your shoes, I would ask why is it that she’s been avoiding me (you).”

Dearest Niece, @cassiopeia ,
Burnout is definitely something to be wary of. The creative types, like yourself, are more prone to it because you’re always thinking about the next direction to take your talent in. My suggestion would to be to switch up what you’re drawing, or even the medium you’re using. Instead of sketching with pencils and pens, perhaps try water colors or oil pastels. They should allow you to view your art in a different light and also keep you from stopping completely. I would suggest going to a museum to study the masters of old, but that’s sort of difficult to do when you’re still in school. But that’s what summer is for!
Unfortunately I’m not allowed to believe in fate. When you have the ability to know that who belongs with who, then it is impossible to let something such as fate drive your business. Now that doesn’t mean I believe people are better off only going through me to find their one true love; if they are perfectly content with the one they’ve found themselves, then I am just as happy for them. Now, I have seen couples come to me just to make sure they were each other’s “one” and it has turned out that they are. But I don’t that has so much to do with fate as it does that their interests and love for one another built their compatibility up.
News on that dress: your father found it before I could, and he should be sending it over in his response to your last letter. He somehow found out but there weren’t any questions asked about why you wanted it. I’ve sometimes thought that he can read minds, though it could have been that I left your letter out on my coffee table and he went snooping when he was last over.
As for Jameson, she’s probably in the middle of writing some new article for the school paper. She has a bright future ahead of her in journalism, so don’t take it to heart if she brushes you off whilst she’s working on a piece.
Love, Uncle Jimbo
