Something was wrong with Liam Flint. He didn't really think that when he left early. Sure, he had a headache and was having a bit of a problem with that (one that made him leave work early). He hadn't thought it was something major until the incident with Summer, however.
He'd asked her to send a letter to River, asking him to meet Liam at the Leaky Cauldron. He wasn't sure if his brother would be able to come, since there was every possibility that River was busy or had something going on. He sat at a booth, looking around the room while he waited. There were a decent amount of people here, so it wasn't likely that they'd be overheard, but that didn't really matter to Liam. He just needed someone to talk to about this, and he was trying to trust his brother and let him be involved in his life more. This should be a good way to do that.

River was happy to receive a letter from his older brother. He had some news for him about their sister, Rusti, that he was interested to share. Liam might have already known, but Rusti had come to Rivers house to tell him just an hour ago so he wasn't sure if she had gotten to Liam yet. Plus, Rusti had said he could tell anyone he wanted since she was spreading the news. She had graduated the year before and was officially marrying her betrothed, Gauis, which was exciting since the two of them really liked each other. River tried not to feel jealous but... well, he was married to Vi so that was that.
He saw Liam tucked away in a booth far from other people, which wasn't unlike his brother. Liam liked his space. River smiled, happily moving over to him. "Hey," he greeted, sitting down across him him and lifting the strap of his bag over his shoulder to toss it onto the seat next to him.

Liam was a monster. There was no other explanation for it. Something happened to him today and he was trying hard not to freak out about it. Which was why he hid away in a booth while he waited for his brother to show up. When River walked in, he seemed to spot Liam almost automatically, which was definitely a relief. Liam wasn't in the mood to catch his brother's attention.
"Hey," Liam echoed. "How are you?" He might as well listen to anything River wanted to say. His brother seemed happy right now and Liam felt bad that he was likely going to bring River's mood down.

His brother greeted him but... he looked like a ghost. Gaunt, pale, no expression to understand. He looked terrible. River leaned forward, his eyebrows furrowing with worry and a frown growing on his face. ”Liam, what is wrong?” he asked flat out. He shifted a little, as if he was going to go over to his brother, but he decided against it. He knew Liam would make it known if he needed something... maybe that's what their getting together was all about. ”What happened.”

Well okay, Liam's plan definitely failed. After just a few seconds River was leaning forward and asking him what was wrong. Liam's eyebrows knitted in frustration as he tried to figure out how to explain himself. "I'm not quite sure how to explain it," he hedged, trying to give himself a little more time. River looked worried. He should. Liam was worried too. After a moment he sighed, "There was an accident at work. An explosion and ... something's wrong with me. I think the electrical magic I was working with affected me somehow." Liam paused and rubbed his temples. He wasn't sure if he was making any sense or if River would think he was just being ridiculous. He couldn't explain it.

Liams face... was tense. Clearly troubled. He knit his brows together and River did the same. If anyone who didn't know them saw them now, they'd have no question that the two of them were brothers. Liam said there was an accident, an explosion, and River gasped. He cleared his throat, trying to seem less dramatic, but it failed. He was leaning forward even more, his brow even more furrowed. "Liam, have you gone to Mungo's? What can I do?" he pulled out his wand, ready to send a message to Mungo's to ready a room the second that Liam gave him the go ahead. "Can you stand up?" he had no idea what Liam was talking about or how bad it was, but if Liam was hurt then what were they doing sitting here at the Leaky Cauldron!?
Then River noticed it. Liam looked... he looked fine. River leaned over, looking at his brother from the side of the table, then straightened up again. No blood, his clothes were fine... Liam wasn't even freaking out. He was... upset, sure, but not in agony.
