Jessie was still studying the stars, trying and failing to find her horoscope's constellation, when Simon's voice pipped up, announcing that everything was done. She sat up, eyes first falling on him, and then to the clean pile of roots. She carefully looked at them, before deciding that they looked perfectly fine to her. "Wow, you really didn't screw it up. Nice job, Simon," she remarked, a somewhat approving look gracing her face. She stood up and dusted herself off, before casting a levitation charm on the now cleaned roots. "Thank Merlin. I can get back to bed now. I just have to plop these into the brew tonight, and it'll be done. I'll turn it in on Monday," she announced, downright cheerful. Not only were they done for the night, but they were done with the project as whole.
Jessie rocked back and forth on her heels, finding it difficult to stand completely still in the cold. She didn't know what to say before her departure, but she was eager to put the past few weeks behind. "Well, I ought to be going," she said awkwardly. What do you say to someone that you prefer to never speak to again? She didn't know. "Goodnight."
She had just turned on her heel, to begin heading back towards the castle before abruptly stopping. She quickly shrugged his jacket off of her shoulders. Lest she needed another reason to see him again. "Thanks again," she mumbled quickly, before making her way back to the castle. A small feeling of relief settled within her when she turned away from him. Though, a fleeting pit in her stomach caused her to glance back at him one last time. Odd. She really did needed to go to the hospital wing.
