A small grin made its way onto Teddy's features as Victoire mentioned herself needing therapy. So she was still the same old, hardworking Victoire. Maybe not much had changed, after all. Then again, before Teddy could tell Victoire about his writing no problem. She was often the subject, but back when they were together he wrote fiction - adventures. He stories were full of light and promise. He was still a good writer but now a days he felt himself not being as strong a writer as he was. He knew why. He looked away, at his feet awkwardly. "Uh..." he stammered for a moment. "Just... stuff. Fiction... mostly," his voice trailed off toward the end. He often found himself writing about Victoire, like a journal. He just couldn't bring himself to write like he used to.
The fact that this new Minister wasn't jumping the gun to solve this murder angered Teddy. "How did a git like him end up in office?" He asked, disgusted at the idea of a man like that being in power. Teddy felt horrible for the families that had lost a child, and Teddy feared the safety of his own family and Victoire's. He loved all of them and wanted them to be safe. Hogwarts obviously wasn't what it was when he was there. And neither was the Ministry. Teddy noticed Victoire sit up more straight in her chair. He raised an eyebrow as she mentioned her team. Why had she corrected herself for the last guy's name? Something just seemed... off about the way she said it. Teddy looked down at his hands, not really knowing what to say. If he had not been a coward and ran away, maybe he could be somebody in the Ministry by now like Victoire. But as it was, he was not.
When the owl came swooshing into the room, Teddy looked quite surprised. The way at which this owl flew did not seem like a normal delivery owl. It was more urgent as it came down toward them. Teddy looked at the owl as Victoire stood up, looking as if she recognized the owl. Teddy watched her intently. The look that came sweeping over on her face sent a wave of panic down Teddy's spine. "What is it?" He asked, standing up himself now. "Is everything okay?" He felt panic rising in him. What if someone they loved was hurt? Teddy couldn't even bear the thought.

Vic nodded as he mentioned writing fiction. She wasn't stupid though, he was looking down at his feet and practically stuttering through the sentence. She didn't call him out on it, though. There were no where near a place where joking about that sort of thing was appropriate. Still, she wanted to know what he really was writing about. Of course a part of her wanted it to be about her, not that she was ever admit that out loud or to herself. She rolled her eyes as Teddy asked how a 'git' like Cain got in office. "He just had a lot of friends in high places, I guess. He's such a poster boy," she actually chuckled at that, finding Cains behavior annoying enough to laugh about. "These things happen, but I really think we can get to him... in seventy years maybe," she joked. She didn't look at him at the mention of her team, afraid her eyes would give her away. As the news in the letter sunk in, Victoire felt her throat closing up even more. She looked up at Teddy, her head shaking slightly. The news wasn't public yet, and she had to get back to the office to deal with the repercussions. "It's work," he said, her voice flat, "I have to get back," she stood, but felt her knees buckle and she quickly sat back down. She took in a deep shaky breath, looking away from Teddy again. Finally, she simply pushed the letter across the table to him. He wouldn't tell anyone, right? He would understand. And right now, she wanted him to cross to her side of the table and hold her. @teddy

Teddy was silently grateful that Victoire, whether she could tell he was lying or not, did not say anything. In the past, Vic definitely would have been able too tell, and she most certainly would have called him out on it. Teddy got the feeling she could tell; he didn't know how - but he did, and he was just happy that she didn't say anything. He wanted nothing more to be back with Victoire, at a place in their relationship that they could joke and laugh with one another. But at the same time, Teddy feared that if that happened - he would want to be with Victoire again. And that was never going to happen.
Thankful for the subject change, Teddy followed the flow of conversation. He scoffed at the mention of the Minister getting the position based on social climbing. "That's disgusting," he said, chuckling sarcastically. What kind of a person could manage to keep their job in this situation if they were doing nothing? It seemed to Teddy that history was beginning to repeat itself. He was too wrapped up in the anger coursing through his body over Reynold Cain that he didn't notice Victoire avoiding his eye.
He did notice, however, her sudden change of emotion after reading the letter. Everything became suddenly serious. Teddy's brow furrowed, half in worry and half in curiosity. "What's wrong with work? Is everything okay?" He asked quickly, wanting so badly to put his arm over her to comfort her. He almost got up to do so, but of course decided against it. Then Vic slid the letter across the table to him. His brow furrowed more as he read over it. As he read through it, panic and worry set through his facial expressions. Another Minister murdered. While Cain was a right idiot, this was not good news at all. He looked up at Victoire, his mouth slightly open in worry. He was so scared for everyone at Hogwarts, for the people of their world. "What's happening?"

"The Minister. He's..." she couldn't say it. Dead. She wanted to stay there with Teddy, she wanted to lose her mind a little bit right now. But it was moments like this when Victoire Weasley didn't show weakness. Well, shouldn't show weakness. "I have to go," she repeated, reaching out to take the later from his hand. She stood as she did this, and kept her hand on his for a moment, her voice softening."Teddy I... I want to talk. I know I don't act like I do, but I do," now she was starting to sound just plain stupid. She sighed, lifting her bag onto her shoulder and finally pulling her hand off of his.
"I don't know when this will be settled, but once things are better I'll... I'll contact you," her voice was slipping into business tone again. The ministry was probably a mess right now, a downright crisis. She needed to get there. She needed to fix this. Heck, she needed to find Sebastian. She gave Teddy another nod before heading toward the door in full crisis solving mode. @teddy notes: I'll send him an owl soon! If you want this thread to keep going and can think of a good reason to stop/follow her go ahead haha it's up to you!

The look of worry that fell over Victoire's face made Teddy's heart sink. Was someone at home hurt? Was a Potter or Weasley child hurt at school? Then she mentioned the Minister... but why? Teddy did not even have time to read over the letter before Victoire took it out of his hand. His brow creased in worry as he watched Victoire stand up. He stood automatically as well. He felt his heart skip what felt like a million other beats when her hand lingered on his for just a moment longer than perhaps it should have.
"I... I want to talk, too," he said, the worry evident in his voice. It dawned on him then what must have happened. Something happened to the Minister, and things were getting out of Hogwarts. They really were regressing back to the old dark ways. Teddy felt scared for his family, at school and at the Ministry - if anything bad had happened, then the school had to be cracking down on security and the Ministry had to be a crazy place to be right now. Teddy didn't want to let Victoire run off to all of that... but it was her job. Teddy had no response when Victoire slipped back into her business tone, but the prospect of her contacting him again felt like enough for now. He watched her intently as she seemed to fly out the door, taking his heart with her.
