Virva had heard about the haunted forest and the magical creatures that were considered to be scary. Naturally she hadn't bought any of it, as she'd never met a truly scary magical creature in her entire life. The poor things were usually just misunderstood and well, it was clear from the screaming that eminated from the forest that this thing reaped the credits of those misunderstandings. Now that she was here anyway she'd figured she'd shower the wonderful animals with a little bit of love.
She hummed cheerfully as she stepped into the forest, the creatures no doubt lined up to do their duties. Silly creatures, these wizards, training magical creatures for these purposes. Well, non-druids had always been weird. She did appreciate that they had to turn their wands in, although the priceless expressions on their faces as she told them she didn't have a wand had been quite interesting. Besides, it wasn't as if she'd ever hard magical creatures, even if they did spook her. She knew better than to believe they'd ever hurt her.
So as she took a few steps in it didn't take her particularly long to push down a squee of delight as she spotted a thestral not too far from her position. She walked up and greeted the animal, softly petting it. She'd always had a soft spot for the creatures since the first time she'd laid eyes on them. They were just too adorable. "Minä olen Virva. Kuka sinä olet?" She said softly to the creature, smiling all the way. It was just too precious and cute!
TAG: open! feel free to join her or even be freaked out by her cuddling the shadows!

Zombie Island. An interesting idea. Torrian had gone with some family members, but soon lost them in the maze. He made his way out, seemingly before them. He could wait at the entrance, or he could try to get some shots with one of his cameras. It was a smaller one, and not one of his favorites. But it was the only one he could sneak into his pocket before they left. Torrian walked around the island, snapping pictures of whatever inspired him.
Torrian found his way to the Haunted Forest. Torrian didn't scare easily. Jump scares rarely worked on him. His ability to bend the perception of those around him made it so that he usually knew where they were before they knew that he was there. Handing over his Redwood wand, the boy entered the forest. Being raised near dragons most of his life, Torrian wasn't too scared to be going in wandless. Plus, he knew that they wouldn't put anything in there that would actually hurt anyone. True, many characters could hurt people, but that didn't mean that they would. He was even assured before going in, that all the creatures were trained not to harm, but only to scare.
Torrian walked through, taking pictures, of what he saw. Pictures of the creatures acting terrifying, and at rest. His flash being sure to be off. There wasn't lots of light, but there was enough, he hopped. It didn't take long for him to come across a woman hugging a thestral. Torrian snapped a picture. He walked up to her. "Not sure if touching is apart of the show." He said, with an air of not caring. He looked around at his surroundings, seeing if anything else spoke to him.

The peace was disturbed by another human coming up. She could almost feel that it wasn't actually a druid. For one, the odds of that were almost impossibly low. Apart from that she noticed the thestral instantly getting more on guard. Humans would do that. The guy was a lot closer than she'd expected and it almost gave her a fright. She wasn't used to anything being able to sneak up on her, which ended up with her giving him a slightly suspicious look. She wasn't going to be unfriendly though. Well, not until he opened his mouth. He didn't seem to be reprimanding her, which meant it was all fine. She nodded slightly.
"The poor sod seemed upset his hard work doesn't pay off half the time. He scared more people by eating than by being spooky. I don't think he's fully aware most folk can't see him." She said as she stoked the poor thestral and nuzzled him for a moment. "But we've since become friends and he's feeling better for it." She then looked the guy up and down a little, feeling slightly confused still about the fact he managed to get as close as he had without her noticing. "What I don't get is how you're so sneaky. You almost scared the living daylights out of me and that is uncommon. I'm usually very attuned to rustling because there are quite a few snakes in the forests back home and we don't actually want to step on them." She looked at him very very confused and then shrugged. "Also, touching isn't a part of the show according to the signs but I choose to ignore them. It's for the safety of the public but he knew I wouldn't hurt him. We're both nature's children after all." She said happily, chattering on cheerfully without a worry in the world. She was training to be an auror. She could probably hold up against a random guy with a box in his hands. Photobox? She forgot the word so she opted to pretend not to notice the device. She didn't like devices anyway.

Torrian was used to sneaking up on people, so the surprised reaction of the woman was normal for him. "The poor sod seemed upset his hard work doesn't pay off half the time. He scared more people by eating than by being spooky. I don't think he's fully aware most folk can't see him." He smiled and looked at his camera. "Such a shame too, they really are beautiful creatures." He would take more pictures and show them to the world...if the creatures themselves shows up for everyone on them. "But we've since become friends and he's feeling better for it." She snuggled with the creature as she spoke, and Torrian took a few step closer, offering his hand as a friendly gesture. Making contact with the nose, he stroked it softly. "There, now he's got two friends"
"What I don't get is how you're so sneaky." The boy smiled, looking a little bashful as the woman spoke. "We're both nature's children after all." That made sense. She must have been a Druid. "Don't feel bad. I'm able to bend people and creatures perception." He gave a shrug as he stroked the Thestral, observing it's structure as only an artist could. "My family has a dragon reserve, so stealth is almost automatic for me." He half joked.

It wasn't every day that Virva met a person that seemed to be able to understand and appreciate magical creatures properly without being one of her kind. It was interesting and she felt a connection and kinship to this stranger, even though it felt strange that he had managed to sneak up on her. The fact he considered himself a friend to the animal also helped, along with calling it beautiful. It was unusual, which usually meant people didn't see the beauty in it. "I think he likes you." She said as she considered the thestral. It wasn't antsy or uncomfortable, which most likely mean the boy had a good heart to him. Animals knew that sort of thing instinctively.
Then he mentioned the dragon reserve and her face lit up. "Oh! My cousin adores dragons! I'm sure you two would get along. He's working on becoming a vet for magical creatures." Virva instantly said happily. "You'd possibly fit in well in our community if you wanted to." She said somewhat bemused. It wasn't something she got to say a lot. She wasn't too sure about the camera in terms of technology but if that was the worst he did she figured it wasn't all that horrible. Surely they could figure out environmentally friendly ways to make photographs? She shook her head slightly, realising just how heavily against technology she was if she felt antsy about a camera. She just didn't want any muggle technology in her own house, but that was her own choice. It was a bit radical to ask it of others after all. It was relatively harmless to take pictures and they could capture all the nature of beauty. She sighed slightly. "Sorry if I'm a bit distracted. This entire festival has me thrown off guard. It's just weird to me." To her this was closest to the end of harvest festival, not some odd death and demon costume contest.

Torrian was as laid back as they come. He did enjoy spending time with people. But he also enjoyed being out on his own, letting fate lead him. His ability aloud him to get close to creatures, though he only did it with harmless creatures that could easily be subdued with magic. When he learned about the Druids at school, there was a part of him that wished he was one of them. But he wasn't, and that was fine too.
The woman was quite curious, but Torrian was one to go with whatever came his way. And he felt that the girl was some kind of kindred spirit. "I think he likes you." The boy chuckled "Nah, I think he's just showin' off." He gave the girl a friendly smile. Maybe she was right. She did seem closer to the creature than he was.
Torrian mentioned his family, and she seemed to kindle something inside of her. The woman started to talk about her cousin, and that he loved dragons. If that was the case, the woman would be quite right to say that the two would get along, or atleast have a lot to talk about. "He's working on becoming a vet for magical creatures." "He's welcome at the MacFusty reserve any time. We have some excellent veterinarians." He commented to her first statement. Then she mentioned her community. Curious, he asked "Which community would that be?" Pure genuine in his voice.
The conversation moved to the festival. "I came here with my siblings. Did you come with anyone" The adult MacFusty children had gone, partially in hopes of harassing their youngest brother who was still a student. But none of them needed much of an excuse to have a good time.

He seemed like a nice person and somebody that didn't want to disturb nature. It almost made her sad he was part of a world so different than him. She'd be inclined to bring him home to introduce him to her own people, as she figured he'd easily fit in. He seemed like he'd respect nature and different traditions rather than just thing they were weird and outlandish. He certainly didn't really seem to think she was very strange and that seemed rare enough from time to time. He mentioned thinking the thestral was just showing off and she shrugged. "Maybe they teach them that then. It seems less likely to me. Creatures usually don't really feel a need to perform around us druids. They know we see all of them without some silly trick. Creatures are potential waiting to be tapped, if you're patient enough to have a look into their world. Or maybe that's just my experience. There was an old man in my village that taught me so."
She smiled and instantly saved the name MacFusty in her mind. A reserve sounded good. It didn't sound like a zoo were animals were kept in fake simulated environments because people were not willing to learn how to interact with them in order to see them up close. It was just a different kind of strange these people were, she supposed. "I'll be sure to let him know. I think he'd like it there, at least for looking around a little. He's from Hy-brasil and a genuinly great person. I'm pretty sure he'd feel guilty if he hurt a fly." She wasn't fully sure if that was supposed to be a compliment, but she considered it to be one. If anything it meant he cared, although that was too likely to be to his own detriment. She didn't want him to be destroyed by his level of compassion.
He then asked about her community and she beamed. It was the first time a total stranger had asked about her home rather than presumed it to be Hy-brasil just because she was a druid. "Stuorraguovssahasat. It's in Finnish Lappi." She said, smiling broadly with all the love for her home radiating off her. "We're actually a mixed settlement between druids and Sami, even the muggle ones. It's the love of natures and the creatures inside it that have brought our two peoples together. It's still all relatively new but it's safe and it's home." She was pretty sure he'd at least find the beauty of nature near her home to be absolutely breath taking. It was a whole different kind of magic.
When he asked if she'd come with anybody she shook her head. "Not really. I had a shift in patrolling for extra security but I figured I'd stay after to see the forest with the magical creatures inside it. It's the closest thing to home I've had in quite a while, although I'll be going back there pretty soon. The city life just isn't quite my thing, I guess. Are your siblings as fond of creatures as you are?" It was genuine interest of course, but also a true curiosity of how many people on the mainland here actually still cared about nature to any sort of extent. He clearly did, but did the same go for his siblings?

Torrian was a very laid back person. He figured that he would do his thing, and others could do there own thing. His special ability, to bend perception around himself, helped him to see things that many others didn't. He knew that creatures acted differently when people were around. Photography was the boys true passion in life. He had been using his ability to get some truly beautiful pictures. The boy had learned quite some time ago, that he could get the pictures that others simply couldn't. He just hoped that one day he could truly profit from this.
As a true Hufflepuff, Torrian was easy to get along with, and tended to like everyone. Even if the disagreed with a friend, hate was a strong word. And something he rarely felt. He believed that people had their own opinions, and he respected that. Honestly, he didn't really understand why people couldn't just get along and respect their personal and cultural differences. But he could also understand why people fought for things. It just wasn't apart of his nature to join in. Torrian had met druids before, in time for the OWL and NEWT exams, so the concept wasn't strange to him. The woman mentioned how creatures rarely "preformed" around druids. He couldn't help but smile with that. He tried not to project too many feelings on creatures, except for his own dog. But he like the idea that this creature liked him.
The job of the dragon keepers at the MacFusty reserve was simple. Keep the dragons happy and out of the way of muggles. Easy enough when you were in the outer Hebrides. They also watched and monitored breading and other natural behaviors, making sure things didn't get too out of hand. It was about the creatures, keeping them safe and healthy. It was also their natural habitat that they built the reserve around, all of this added up to the fact that they weren't mistreated. He had brought up the reserve, because of her cousin. Torrian, while he did love photography, he did enjoy helping with the family business too. And he knew about Hy-Brasil, never being able to go and visit himself, but he knew of it. She described the boy and Torrian smiled " Well send him over, and he can just mention my name, I'll show him around personally." He was always up for making new friends "Name's Torrian by the way." He extended his had, finally making a formal introduction.
She seemed excited when he asked about her community, and he was genuinely curious about it. He, like most of the wizarding community, thought that the only druid community was Hy-Brasil. He did know that some Druids lived in the rest of the wizarding world as they wanted, though the idea of another community was fascinating. He was interested to learn it's location, though he was certain he wouldn't be able to pronounce the name without hearing it a few times first. Learning that it was a mixed community really grabbed the boys attention. It followed the idea that he personally believed in. It didn't matter where you came from, but what you believed and how you treated others. "That sounds amazing." He wanted to go, but he didn't know how they felt about visitors. And he didn't want to impose.
Torrian was with his siblings, and it was nice to get away from them for a time. They were a wild and loud bunch. He loved them and joined in on the fun regularly, but they wanted to go somewhere, and he wanted to go else where. Bending perception defiantly made it easier to sneak off from the group. And no one would worry about him either. He could take care of himself. The woman said that she hadn't come with anyone. He could respect that someone didn't like cities. He grew up in the outer areas, and so he too liked his wide open space. But he also did like technology, and he also enjoyed going to the city. But that was the beauty of making friends, no two people were exactly alike, even if they shared the some interests. She asked if his siblings were as interested in creatures as he was and he shrugged. "I'd like to think so. All of us who have graduated out of school have started jobs that had something to do with creatures." But he couldn't fully speak for them. "We were all raised with out family running the reserve. They were smart to not let us kids too close to any of the dragons, but that didn't necessarily stop us from trying"

She liked this guy. He was more like the druids she knew, especially the few from back home that ventured out into the world from time to time. It was near impossible not to catch a few of the mainlander habits when one spent so much time around them. It was a lot more uncommon and even rare to see mainlanders with druid habits despite not having interacted with them a lot. They were absolute gems to Virva and she was pleased to have encountered one by accident. Maybe they could be friends? She definitively needed more friends she felt that she could relate to in terms of nature. Still, it was a bit of a stretch to presume he would be like that. She nodded as he mentioned sending Aidan over. "Kyllä. His name is Aidan if he decides to come. I think he will." Aidan was a total sucker for any and all magical creatures, dragons included. She figured that he'd jump at the opportunity. "I'm Virvatuli." She said, taking his hand with a smile on her face. She liked this one.
He sounded very interested in her home and she felt herself grow fonder by that alone. His words were of praise and she giggled. "Maybe you can visit one day." She suggested. "Although we're not usually very keen on outsiders unless they live like us, much like the Sami do." She said with a bit of a shrug. "It's all about nature for us in the North, we don't care if you have magic or not as long as you respect nature and do what you can not to harm it." Most people figured for some reason that it meant they were all vegans but they understood that not harming nature wasn't the same as trying not to use the gifts that nature gave. Virva still ate meat, wore leather and many other things people didn't expect. She didn't wear any materials that just has a fancy name for plastic though, as that was something that she didn't approve of at all. She didn't really use technology because making it was a huge factor in the pollution of the world. Those were the things that had more to do with balance and not doing harm, staying within what nature gave without exploiting it. "But if I'd give a tour I'm sure it would be fine." She said, which was also instantly an offer of actually showing him around the town at some point. She thought he'd fit in there perfectly, partially because their village was a different kind of peculiar than the druid community on Hy-brasil was.
Virva laughed in joy a little as he mentioned that the kids were not allowed near the creatures but tried so regardless. "Oi vei." She said with a laugh. "Reminds me of when I was little. I always ran off, hiding in the woods and playing with the creatures around. If she told me not to go somewhere I was more keen to try. I was always looking for excitement and adventures. I think that spirit led me from home." Probably in part why he hadn't left his. He always sought out what already was there while she wanted to see and experience more. It was easy enough on that point to tell which path a child might be more inclined to take if you didn't try to change their natures because you as a parent were afraid. It was too common and Virva was very glad her parents had supported her in leaving, even if they would have liked her to stay.

Torrian really liked spending time with this girl. She seemed relaxed, like he was. There did seem to be some differences between the two, but they could definitely be friends. Torrian knew he was easy to get along with. She mentioned the name of the boy, if he came and he nodded. Committing that to memory. "Great, I look forward to seeing him." She then introduced herself as Virvatuli and shook his hand.
She had mentioned her home, and it sounded quite interesting. She mentioned the possibility of visiting some time. She mentioned that they usually didn't have visitors. And they way that the lived. Torrian gave a wide smile. He liked his lifestyle, but it would be interesting to see how they lived. Giving a shrug "I'm all about blending in." he then gave a little chuckle. Knowing that the girl would not understand why what he said was humorous. Though, he did like the idea of living harmoniously with nature, he still liked his motorcycle and working on it, which didn't seem to match that value completely. She also mentioned giving him a tour nonetheless. He nodded "I'd love that"
Torrian laughed as the girl mentioned doing something similar when she was younger. He laughed. "Yea, we were always getting up to no good." That was once he returned form the hospital. They were all mischievous trouble makers.
The two seemed to get along great, and would had made fast friends.
@virvatuli OOC: Maybe one more on your end, and we can call this done?
