Aurora combed her fragile fingers through her hair incredibly long brown locks. She was sitting back in her usual chair in the library but then time it was next to a first year in need of tutoring for potions, a subject, Aurora excelled in. At the moment, the student was writing with intensity. Aurora was explaining some of the potions that were introduced in his first lesson by name. He was a curious kid and found someone mentioning Aurora’s skill and apparent love for kids. He owled her and she set up a time and place for him. The girl held a torn and tattered version of the Grimm’s fairy tales. She loved the mystical world muggles created, but this… it wasn’t sugar coated like most. It was almost as if it could be real. Actually, Aurora would not have been surprised if it were. The young woman turned another page as the boy continued to write down his understanding of what he learned. Soon he was handing it to her. Her blue eyes went over the terrible hand writing and her mind tried to make sense of it. Ten minutes later, there were red markings lightly displayed on the sheet. She handed it back before dismissing the boy with a list of books that might perk his interest. With that, the first year was off and Aurora’s eyes were back rolling over each line of her book. Ten minutes passed, and Aurora laid her book down. She gather her hair together and tossed it onto her right shoulder. Some fell into her face but she tried to curl it around her ear but it fell back into her face doing absolutely nothing to solve her hair delehma. Like always, Aurora ignored it and picked her book back up, leaning her head on to her hand supported by a propped up elbow.
@james : I'll find a pretty code for it later... maybe.... : D

James Potter was not the model student. In fact, James hardly got by in his classes. Some teachers felt bad for him for being so pathetically dimwitted. Others liked him for his strong and confident personality. Others for his last name. Then there were some who just downright disliked the boy because he was a ruckus in their class. This was usually the case. While James wasn't a great student, he never didn't do the homework. He put forth an effort in hopes to make his mother happier about his attitude toward school. So today, in hopes that he would in fact make Ginny happy when she would write to check in on her children, he found himself in the library, already preparing himself to write his first paper of his first year.
As he entered the library with his sack of "school stuff" (which really consisted of a few blank pieces of parchment, some sweets from Honeydukes, and mostly some products from his uncle's store,) he had a look of pure disdain. He glared ahead of him, at nothing in particular. Just the fact that he was actually in the library of all places. With a sigh, James headed to the section about potions. It was actually a paper he had been assigned individually for goofing off in Kovachev's class, who particularly did not care for James. So, he was to write a four page paper on how to properly contruct a polyjuice potion. "Elementary stuff," Kovachev had smirked at him upon assigning it to him. James knew he should have known, but as it were, he did not.
So James lazily walked up and down the potions section, searching for any sign of "polyjuice potion." At least he had not been assigned a detention. James took one more half-ass look up and down the potions section, then let out another heavy sigh. He exited the section to find a table to sit at instead. The paper was due in a week, so he figured he had time to procrastinate a bit. He scanned the library and found several empty tables, and only one girl sitting at one of them. Almost instantly, James froze.
The girl was gathering all of her dark brown hair and throwing it over her right shoulder. James could see her blue eyes scanning a book, even from a few tables over. Usually upon seeing a girl, James would hardly take notice of the little things like the color of her eyes. He may compliment her eyes after a few minutes of small talk, to flatter her and make it easier to swoon her, but he would never take this long to simply just stare at and admire a girl.
James wanted to approach her, but he was finding it hard to move. This was weird. He moved his head from side to side, to give it a good crack. Then he took a deep breath. Was he feeling... nervous? He took a step forward and put on his famous flirtatious smile as he finally began to approach the girl. As he got nearer, he immediately noticed she was different than the others. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but she seemed different. James also realized he had never approached this girl before. James knew the names of almost every girl in the school, but he couldn't seem to think of her name. Finally, he reached her table.
"'Ello, there," he said slowly, grinning cheekily at her. By now, James usually would have gone in to some spiel about how he had never seen her around in here before, how cute she was, and how he'd like to buy her a drink at The Three Broomsticks sometime. However, James couldn't seem to bring himself to speak further.

That voice. It cut through Aurora’s focus like a freshly sharpened blade. Ever since her first year, Aurora knew that voice quickly. It never seemed to die. It would just deepen in sound and increase in volume. The only place she never heard it was in the Ravenclaw tower or wash rooms. Except when that voice wasn’t in play, the name behind it was always spoken. Usually by most of the female population or a few choice guys. Always in favor or heartbreak. Then there were the moments where the bearer was spoken in ill terms, by her childhood friends, loved ones and anyone else who held a bone to pick with said voice bearer. But never once had Aurora paid him any mind other than to tune out his voice. She never even took time to speak his name, it was practically forbidden for her. Though she could not deny the fact that it thrilled her and frightened her.
Aurora’s bright eyes took a moment finishing her page before she looked up. She kept a bored and aloof facial expression when her eyes in fact landed on James Potter. For some reason, he was approaching her. He was speaking to her and with a friendly smile. It confused her immensely. Did her not realized who he was speaking to? Her family was known pureblood purists and suspected Death Eaters. She was more than positive that her family members have once or twice caused immense pain and trouble for those who he would call loved ones. Yet, here he was in front of her. And then the though came to her. Only those who were in with her family and their ways or feared her linage knew of her, knew to point them out and never upset them, never end up on her bad side. It was all but possible that James Potter never even noticed her before now. Her mind clicked on. She was to be meant as another notch in his belt. Even though he seemed to have no understanding to who she was and the possible fact that her older brother probably singled him out back in the early years, Aurora knew exactly who he was. She knew every Weasley and Potter and she avoided them like the plague. But James was different. He was Hogwarts Cassinova (another story Aurora was familiar and in love with).
James Potter. It led her mind back to the first year of Hogwarts, right before she boarded the train. She stood with her mother while the men in family stood aside bent over laughing. They were truly a happy family, completely comfortable and fortunate, always looking out for each other. But there was a moment where the expression her mother wore, engraved itself in her mind. Morgana began,“Now, there are some people you must stay away from Aurora. Stick to the Slytherins, the children you’ve grown up with.” Her mother’s eyes were serious but sad, as if this something she did not want to pressure her daughter into, “There will be some children named Weasley or Potter. Whatever you do, do not interact with them.” Was how she finished before looking over at Aurora’s father. She understood what it could possibly mean and Aurora was to obey.
Avoiding them had been easy enough. Aurora was quiet and sat in the background majority of the time unless class called for it or tutoring was needed. Except now, in front of her stood Potter. With his bright eyes and cheeky grin. Aurora almost forgot her memory, his reputation. Aurora’s mind raced to say something. Anything. Something rude, sarcastic, offensive even, but Aurora didn’t trust her voice. So she looked at him for a moment longer before her eyes went back to her book, not a twitch in her face, not even a change in expression. She just turned to the next page and tried to continue to read.

The air seemed not only silent but awkward as James stood there, awaiting for the girl to look up at him. Had she not initally heard him? However when she did finally look up at him, she seemed bored. James, being the egotistical fellow he is, figured the obvious reason was because she was reading a book. When she actually did look at him, James couldn't tell what she was thinking. Usually, James would have said something flirtatious by now that would have gotten the girl's attention and she would be all giggly and return the flirting. He had already messed this up, though.
The girl did seem familiar, but James figured it was just because she seemed like she was in his year. She looked older than fifteen but younger than eightteen, so that left him to believe she, too, was a seventh year. But she didn't say anything to him. Not even a smile as if to say "hello." This was odd. James had never had quite the conundrum in front of him before.
Just when James thought that maybe, just maybe, she was about to say something she looked back down at her book. It was as if he had not even said anything at all! Was she perhaps deaf? James raised an eyebrow at her, looking quite offended and taken aback. He shook his head, as if to shake the feeling of offense and regained his composure by moving closer to her and leaning against the table near her side. Now James was a little close for comfort, he figured she would have to say something. "So... James began slowly, crossing his arms across his chest. He decided to give it another shot.
"Hey," the famous grin was back on his face. "What's a pretty raven like you doing in here all by her self?" He asked. It was probably the cheesiest thing he had ever said, as Ravenclaws were often found in the library... by themselves... studying. While James was mentally kicking himself for saying such a pathetic thing, he didn't falter in his expression and kept grinning at the girl, hoping she would look up at him again.

Now, normally, most guys that approached Aurora thought once or twice about it. Once about her brother’s reaction and then hers. Majority of the Aurora did shine a little bit of light their way before letting them down. But guys she actually acknowledged and then chose to ignore purposely and made her choice know, left defeated and wounded.
Except James Potter did not leave. Instead, he took a few steps closer to her. His mouth open and he led with a so. Aurora was intrigued but completely shocked. He was actually talking to her. Not once had he said more to her than well, he never really said anything to her and she thought it was because of her lineage not for the fact that he never really noticed her.
And there it was. A pick up line. James Potter just used a pick up line on her. “Avoiding the social norms of society.” The girl finally said. He voice was not that of which matched her soft features. Her voice was confident and sure. She didn’t hint to the excitement she was feeling, nor did she show the fact that she was confused. But she finally said something that neither did insult James nor encourage him to continue. It was completely neutral and screamed Aurora. She couldn’t be like her brother, whom she was more than sure terrorized James in the past just for his namesake. Aurora couldn’t be rude or disrespectful. It showed how different she was from her family. “That and usually, the social norms of society like avoiding me as well.”
Aurora finally closed her book. She took a breath and placed it softly on the table she occupied. “You know Potter,” She began her eyes going onto him, “It would be best for you to ignore my existence like you have for the last six or so years. Safer for the both of us, don’t you think?” Of course he would disagree. James obviously didn’t know who she was. Even his friend Alice was smart enough for a Hufflepuff to show no interest in her. But it was never a good idea for a Potter to socialize with a girl who’s parents were known Death Eaters and dark arts supporters.

James wasn't expecting that cheesy line to work, but when the girl finally spoke up, he was mentally relieving a deep sigh. James did his best to remain put together and not show how nervous he was feeling. Why was he feeling so nervous?
"Social norms, huh?" He said, his arms now nonchalantly at his sides as his hands cooly slid into his pockets. He did this not only to seem relaxed and suave but also to hide any shakiness he may start feeling. James really couldn't put his finger on it, but this girl intimidated him. This was a first for James Potter, as usually he was doing the intimidating. This girl, however, did not seem phased. He kept up his cool and calm demeanor nonetheless. "Now, why would anyone want to avoid you?" He said smoothly, raising his eyebrows at her in a shocked manner. "It can't be because you're insanely gorgeous... Merlin's sake, Potter keep it together, what are you doing?" The inner voice in James's head was arguing with him.
James was surprised once again when the Ravenclaw closed her book. That was it. He had seen her reading a book! Or... at least he thought he had. But then again, all Ravenclaws liked to read books. Why couldn't he remember her? Then the dark haired girl spoke to him by his last name. This suprised James further, as not many people referred to him by "Potter" in that tone unless he were in trouble or something. "Safer for the both of us?" He repeated, looking a little skeptical. "Now why's that, Raven?" Had she said... "for the last six years?" James nervously racked his brains and was frustrated that he couldn't put a name to the face. "Think, Potter, think..."

He questioned her answer but said anything more until the second part clicked in his mind. The girl looked straight at him. Her blue eyes looked him up, trailed down and went back up to his face. “You, above mos,t should know how powerful a name is.” She went back to her bored expression, “They avoid me because they know of my name.” It was simple as that. All her friends were Slytherins or purists or people who just wanted to be good with a Lestrange descent. Who knew the moment you were going to need their money or influence. But Aurora never took advantage of that other than the silence if would give her during the day.
Aurora gave him an amused smile. It was probably the only smile he was going to get from her when in her presence. She now knew he definitely didn’t know her name. Aurora took her book and put it into her bag. She then stood up. It was inevitable, but Aurora was now standing closer to James than she wanted or was comfortable. Her blue eyes looked his facial features over once more before she turned away from him and began picking up the potions book she was using for her tutor session. She lifted the books up and glanced back at James. “Because Potter,” she began as she walked off to the Potions section.
The brunette knew James was going to follow her. She hadn’t given him any information to her and knowing the boy, he wanted to know, especially if he led with that lame pick up line. She laid the pile of books down before pulling her wand out. She gave it a swish and flick. One by one they began to lift into the air. Once they were high enough, they slipped back into their proper place. Once Aurora knew James was in hearing range, she continued, “I’m Aurora,” Her eyes went over the books, “Lestrange.” She finished with a sigh before picking a book off its shelf. "We don't mix..." Aurora trailed off, she was going to continue with "purebloods and blood traitors or muggleborns," but the girl couldn't get the words out of her mouth. Aurora wasn't her family, she didn't believe in that stuff. She then turned to James and handed him the potions' book, “You’re going to need this.” She raised an eyebrow at him.

James happened to briefly catch the brunette give him an up down look over, and he caught himself for he let any sort of cocky grin show. Instead he kept a look of boredom, matching her own, upon his face, waiting for her answer. "They aren’t that powerful," he said with a wave of his hand. "I doubt your name is that bad, Raven," he said, with a skeptical look. James didn’t usually judge others based on their name, especially their last. In the wizarding world, last names were pretty important as it told of their bloodline. However, James didn’t care about that stuff. As long as they were a good person, James didn’t mind them.
As the dark haired beauty offered up an amused smile, James tilted his head to the side and grinned widely at her. The wrinkles around his eyes always showed when he grinned widely. His mother had given this trait the title “crinkle and twinkle,” and it had become James’s signature go-to lady grabbing habit. When the girl stood up, however, the grin disappeared and James was left with a more surprised look when he realized her proximity. He wanted to say something smooth and charming, but found himself tongue tied at her closeness instead. This girl was different than others, as any other girl wouldn’t have had this sort of effect on James. By now, they would probably be hidden between some section of books, snogging or something.
When the brunette began to walk off, James was initially frozen in place but it took him seconds to regain composure and follow her. He was about to say something when he stopped to watch the girl pull out her wand and lead the books she had been using back to their original homes on the shelves. So she was intelligent. James had gathered that much by her Ravenclaw robes, but there was something about the amount of books she had that told James she was more than just smart.
Then she spoke her name. Almost immediately, James’s head snapped toward her own to face her. The name had definitely caught his attention, but no surprise or shock registered on his face. It was all going through his head. Of course he knew who her family was, and the role they had played in the wizarding war before he was born, but for some reason he didn’t think this girl, Aurora, was that way.
James didn’t say anything. He just watched her, his expression near blank. Then Aurora handed him a potions book. He accepted it without saying anything, looking at the cover and then turning it over to examine the back. He held it in his hand as he returned his arms to his sides. He watched her for a moment more in silence. "I think I prefer the name Raven," he finally said, as a small smile slowly appeared.
They didn’t mix? Just because he was a Potter and she was a Lestrange? Well, that was sure going to change, James was positive of that.

James’ exterior took a persona of boredom, the one she was handing him. He went from clearly interested into trying to keep up with her. It was definitely interesting for her to see. He was giving her so much attention. Attention she was nowhere used to. Aurora raised an eyebrow. “Maybe in your world, it may not be that bad, but in my world, Potter and Weasley are hardly welcomed.” She shrugged one of her shoulders causing her hair to fall onto her back. James probably couldn’t care less about purity and status that came with a name, but Aurora’s life revolved around it. If she even dared to think like he did, she’d be left with nothing and that was not worth maybe a month with James and then a heart break.
Aurora could not believe the grin he was giving her. It completely filled his eyes, creating lines on his face. It was a better look that the superior and cocky look he normally carried, almost innocent. But knowing James and his reputation, he was nowhere near innocent. But he was definitely not on his game. Aurora knew in the back of her head she was throwing Potter off guard. Talking, not falling, treading the line but not corssing. Aurora knew the consequences of her actions and she wasn’t going to take any dangerous ones. It was strange to see him speechless but she wasn’t going to hang around while he tried to think of something clever and suave.
Aurora smiled softly at the books, once they were in their proper places. Now, books, were not complicated. They aided her and kept her out of trouble. Except today they couldn’t chase Potter away. Even though her eyes were glued to her pages, he still approached her and tried to communicate.
Okay, so he did know of Lestrange. That was obvious by his reaction to her name. It caught his attention quickly. But she’d be thoroughly surprised if he didn’t know it. He accepted her book, the one including the polyjuice potion, and stayed quiet. She wanted to know what he was thinking but she wasn’t going to let on about that. The brunette grabbed her hair and pulled it back over her right shoulder looking back at the books in front of her. Potions were definitely her thing and was keeping her attention while James took in all the information. His next sentenced surprised her.
She looked at him and searched his face hoping her it would give her any indication of what he was thinking. Potter was incredibly dangerous if he was fazed by the name. “I don’t. Majority of the Ravenclaws get referred to Raven all the time. Why do I want to be included in the majority?” Instead of swooning like the other girls, her logic clicked in right away. Instead of the fact that James wanted to connect to Aurora, Aurora pointed out the flaw in his sentence. The brunette hesitated and played with the ends of her hair a bit before she began to speak, “But if you insist on calling me something other than Aurora,” Her eyes left him and trailed around their surroundings, making sure no one was around to hear, “You can call me Rory.” No one, hardly anyone was allowed to call her anything other than Aurora, didn’t allow it. Her hands trailed down to the strap of her bag. She was definitely nervous now and knew she should leave. “You should better get started on that essay Potter.” She finally said.

James watched the Lestrange girl as she shrugged, causing her hair to fall. James was never one to really notice if a girl's hair fell or any sort of thing like that, but this girl's hair was particularly appealing to James. It was long, dark, and curly and it suited her, he thought. He couldn't help but be captivated by it. "Oh, Raven, I'm hurt," he said sarcastically. A hint of a small smile on his face after the fact, though.
After she had handed him the book and the realization of name had passed over him, James watched her once again as she pulled her brunette hair over her right shoulder. James took notice and realized he liked how she played with her hair. Another weird new thing for the Potter.
"I guess that's true," James shrugged at her dislike of the nickname "Raven." But James believed she was the epitome of what the house of ravens stood for. He had stumbled upon her surrounded in books, so it fit. But she caught his attention when she gave him an ultimatum. "Rory," he repeated, nodding approvingly. "I do like that better," he flashed her a wink.
James chuckled to himself, and was about to let her get off scott free. But then he realized, "How'd'you know I had an essay to write?" He asked, looking at her with a smirk now. He didn't think he had mentioned anything about having to do an assignment, mainly because he had been focused on talking to her. So it was thrilling and interesting that she had somehow taken notice.

Obviously James had no problem with where their families stood when faced together. He was still interested. Guess she couldn’t sure her name as an excuse any longer. She would just have to play up his reputation and use it against him. Aurora glanced his way. She looked him up and down. Sarcasm certainly suited him, but she wasn’t going to give him the satisfaction of a reply. The girl just went back to being completely consumed by the books in front of her. She had read that one, and that one, and that one. Her blue eyes trailed over each book trying to find one she hadn’t touched.
James Potter just winked at her. Aurora didn’t know if she should be flattered or upset he was treating her like any other girl he stumbled upon. She looked at him, “I was afraid of that.” She paused and sighed, “Potter don’t make me regret giving you another option.” Or another chance to address her. She kept her face aloof but she couldn’t hide the amusement in her voice. Despite her hardest efforts to push him away, they were actually getting along. Imagine if Aurora actually played the game correctly. How well they would actually get along… Aurora had to mentally slap herself. She wasn’t supposed to give James the time of day and here she was giving him more thoughts than safe. The blue eyed girl turned away from him. This had to finish. No more.
And it seemed it was, James seemed ready to go expect, Aurora unintentionally gave him a reason to stay longer. Aurora grimaced a bit. Nobody ever questioned the reason why Aurora knew something. They just were okay with the fact that she did. They expected it. Except Potter came in here and found that Aurora did have the slightest interest in him or at least what he was doing. “Why can’t you just ignore me like before?” she muttered to her books before turning to him. “I was there.” She started off a bit nervously trying to figure out a way to explain why she knew. “I love potions… I pay attention to everything the Professor says and what happens…” She looked down at her feet and a small blush appeared on her cheeks. That was a bit of a lie, she was actually pay attention to James specifically, “I’m also always there before and after class.” She rambled on. She should probably get to the point. “Anyways, you decided to demand attention once more and I heard your punishment.” Aurora’s hair was back in her fingers and she was playing it. Relaxing a bit she looked up. “Not much of a punishment in my opinion, but apparently essays don’t appeal to everyone.” She muttered before sighing.
Her sigh could have been an indication to how people didn't think the way she did but in truth it was becaus she was actually paying attention to James that day. Which girl didn’t? But Aurora spent a couple of classes fixated on Potter. At that point, it was okay. He didn’t know she existed and everything was considered impossible. Now everything was to be considered dangerous and should be ignored. But she couldn’t take back the fact that she let it slip that she was interested in him and in fact paying attention to him and his rumbustious behavior in class.

James may have been losing this battle, but he could still tell when he had a girl stumped. He had dealt with many girls like Aurora who had turned him down in the past, so he was technically no stranger to rejection. Aurora was smarter than that though. James could tell. He definitely thought she was different, and that was what made him so nervous, but as he watched her ignore him and turn her attention back to her books, a triumphant smirk crossed his features. So he hadn't exactly lost his charm.
As Rory spoke, James sensed a hint of amusement in her voice. This only made his smirk widen in response. He crossed his arms once more. At this point, James was feeling less cocky and more proud of himself. He had come over to this girl, almost unable to speak because she made him... nervous, but yet despite all those weird emotions, he was still able to do what he was good at. Swooning the ladies. "I would never dream of doing that," he said, watching her closeley. In truth, he had felt a bit happy that she had given him the option to call her by a nickname. By the sound of it and the way she acted when she said it, James had guessed she didn't let many people do that.
James couldn't help but give the Ravenclaw a skeptical look as she spoke about how much she loved potions. Was that a blush he saw? He shrugged now. "I'll give you that one," he decided, sarcasticly narrowing his eyes at her. "Since I do like to draw attention to myself..." he admitted. That was a new one for James, too. He never admitted to how much attention he drew to himself. There she went again, getting all things new things of out James Potter. James shrugged once more, stuffing his right hand into his pocket. "Professor Kovachev doesn't care for me much," he shook his head, thinking about the Potions Master. "He knows I especially don't like essays," he said, this time his eyes narrowing at the thought of the man who assigned him such a silly assignment.
Once again, James found himself just looking at Aurora. Not saying anything. This was very unusual for James. He had never just stared at a girl like this before. Aurora was exceptionally beautiful, however. Wait, what? James Potter never seriously thought that to himself. Sure, he would sometimes think a girl was particularly handsome or a good looker, but he never caught himself thinking about how beautiful a girl was.

Aurora rolled those lovely blue eyes at the books in front of her. He wouldn’t dream of it. Oh boy. Aurora should already be regretting this little conversation they were having. Except she was not feeling anything near regret. More like, excitement, was coursing through her. What could she do though? The exact person she was told to stay away from and guy every girl wanted was now speaking to her. He actually followed her instead of walk away when she left him. James was even still standing next to her, eyes locked on her. This was something she was not use to and knew very ell was forbidden. Every reason she was given to stay away, were the reasons she didn’t walk away.
The girl stood there. Her eyes had left the floor and locked onto James while he talked. It was a habit at hers, caused by teachers. She hardly ever took her eyes off her Professors unless notes were needed to be taken. Since there were no need for notes here, Aurora’s eyes just stayed on James as her spoke. “You’re quite good at it you know.” She raised an eyebrow. She didn’t mean to comment, but I sort of slipped out. What happened to that girl who hardly said a thing? She was gone at the moment. “It makes sense. You don’t seem to care for his classroom and the rules applied, he’s not going to care for the teenager who disrupts the classroom for attention.” The girl looked him over. “Imagine, if you’d behaved? You’d have less homework.” And you would have never noticed me and this moment would not have happen. Things would be simple and life could carry on. Except the Professor sent off with an assignment that caused James to enter Aurora’s second home.
Thinking it over, Aurora missed the cue of James being quiet. She eyes had trailed back down to the ground thinking over the exact moment they were in. To Aurora, James could have walked off. Her mind was calculating everything between them and the fact that it all needed to stop and soon. When she looked back up, James was staring at her. It made her heart skip a beat. His blue eyes were stunning. She could definitely see them now, how could she not? Aurora wanted to say something, but she didn’t know what. She actually could not get over the fact that James was still here, in front of her, and silent. “Erm, James?” She finally looked at him, her blue eyes on his. “Are you alright?” The girl took on a worried expression. The question of “do I have something on my face” never popped into her mind. Nor to point out the fact that he was staring at her. Why would he? No she went to the first response her instincts gave her, compassion and concern. The exact traits that were needed in a healer. "If you're concerned about the essay, I can assist you in completing it." The words came before she could think.

As James spoke, he took notice once again of Aurora's eyes. They were so... blue. James believed he had never seen such blue eyes. They were beautiful, and Aurora was very good at keeping eye contact. Something James found was hard to come by in people. Especially girls, for they would usually break his eye contact by giggling and turning away at some silly compliment given or flirting tactic he had used on them. This time James was the one to break the eye contact, laughing - almost nervously - at her compliment. "Heh, yeah," he said, running a hand through his shaggy dark hair. James was thankful she kept going on. "But imagine, if no one misbehaved? Kovachev's class would be absolutely boring," he flashed her a wrinkly grin.
When Aurora spoke, James shook his head knocking himself out of his silent trance. Had he really just been staring at her? Good thing James never really blushed, otherwise he would be as red as the Gryffindor crest. Instead he put on a smile and waved away her concern. "Oh, I'm fine," he said, but then caught the last of her sentence. Had she just offered to help him? This was an opportunity James felt he couldn't resist. It would, after all, give him a chance to see her again. "Actually," he began, holding up the book he had forgotten was in his hand. "I could probably use some help," a small and innocent smile appeared as he looked at her once again.

“You already forgot?” The girl looked at James, both eyebrows raised up. “I enjoy potions. I’d be completely content with no distractions.” Except James was in majority of her classes, meaning, she would have loads of distractions. It would be impossible to ignore now. Aurora tried to keep the smile off her face. She was beginning to understand why some girls acted the way they did when around James Potter. But Aurora refused to be one of them. She didn’t want to drop to that level. She didn’t want to be just another notch in James belt. That was definitely something to avoid. Aurora took a strand of her dark hair and curled it around her hair before her hand fell back to her bag strap.
And then it happened. James actually admitted he could probably use her help. Actually Aurora was still trying to get over her lack of thought process when she offered a helping hand. Her instinct to help and mend just kicked in. It certainly separated her from her family members. She was one to help without a second thought. The brunette was now in a deep hole. Except, she could turn this around. She was a continuous tutor. Aurora was always helping someone with studying and homework, no matter who it was. Sometimes she was assigned to the person, sometimes they looked for her. And nobody had to know she offered him a helping hand. “Well alright...” Aurora nodded. Her eyes looked over their surroundings. “How about, we meet up tomorrow night?” She looked back at James, her mind going over her schedule and what her plans were like. “We can meet here?” She paused, “Or the room of requirements, I’m not sure how long it’s going to take.” Aurora wasn’t one to just hand out the answers. She was the tutor who pointed the person in the right direction. “How does that sound?” She questioned still looking at James. Aurora was handling this more professionally than her mind was handling it.
