The magical circus had been in town for quite some time now, but Ella had only just mustered up her courage to go and see the sights. Why had this taken so long? Easy, she really didn't want to bump into a parent. When she got a day off from practice, and performing, the young witch went into the city. First thing first, time for breakfast. She had already had a morning shake, then a short run and stretch. Now it was time to eat. She made her way to a restrain with good reviews and ordered enough for two. Cleaning up each plate was childs play. As an athlete, of some sort, Ella knew that she had to keep herself fueled up.
After that, she started on her way to see the sights of London, making sure to snap some selfies as she went. Finally, while she was working on lining up the perfect shot, she bumped into someone. Turning quickly, "Sorry about that."

▲ The Quidditch season was in full swing again, having been a little iffy at first following the events of the summer. The league was still reeling from everything that had happened, and there really wasn’t any telling when it would return back to normal. Wimbourne seemed to be trying to recover from their loss of their young keeper, which had hit home pretty hard. Mickey liked the rest of the keepers in the league, and they generally got along fairly well. There wasn’t as much competition between them since they were on complete opposite ends of the pitch usually, and attitudes from all of them were usually even across the board. Technically he was the worst of them personality wise, but they were a good group, as opposed to the chasers in the league. All of them were full of themselves, and rightfully so. There were always solid chasers moving up into the league, whereas being a keeper was more of a long term commitment for a team. They were the final defense after all, and you didn’t want to piss off your keeper. Anyways, the season wasn’t going that well for Ballycastle, and the first match of the season was still weighing on Mickey’s mind. Prior to the snitch being caught, he had already allowed ten goals, which wasn’t the worst out of the first week matches, but it also wasn’t the best. He had beat himself up for weeks by replaying the game in his mind, trying to figure out where he screwed up and how he could improve on that. Montrose was a decent team, as usual, but they were never anything to write home about. His job was to stop the quaffle at all costs. Even if his chasers couldn’t score or his seeker couldn’t catch the snitch, he still needed to be an iron defense at the posts. Now if the rest of the team had stepped up and played out of their mind, it wouldn’t have really mattered as much. But he still allowed ten goals. That fact was irrefutable. Being caught up in all of these thoughts, he really wasn’t paying much attention as he pushed through the crowds of muggles. He was sure their professional athletes thought the same way. Football player keepers were probably the closest in proximity to what he did, though they only had one goal and didn’t have to worry about flying or dodging bludgers. Having only one focus sounded sort of nice. Letting out a sigh as he walked, he looked up in time to see a familiar face on the other side of the street. It was his sister, who he hadn’t seen in months, taking a selfie. Mickey stopped and stared across the street at her, unsure if he wanted to call out to her or walk over to say hello. When it came to the rest of the family, he rarely saw any of them once the season started, and that was how it had been going for years now. Not to mention Ella’s new chosen career was sort of unorthodox and usually kept her pretty far away. Waiting a few moments for cars to pass, Mickey eventually made his way across the street and walked up behind her, not realizing that she was also backing up at the same time with her phone held out in front of her. “I’m not allowed to have photos taken of me in public,” he said as sternly as possible as she apologized to him, before a small smile formed on his face. “Circus in town, or is this a vacation?”@donatella ● 604 ● Quiet Man by Roo Panes MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Ella enjoyed a good quidditch game, but lately, she hadn't had time to keep up with everything. She had practices, performances, and new routines to figure out. She had even been practicing some broom acrobatics. But she still did what she could to keep up on specific teams, like her old one, and the one her brother was in. Ballycastle hadn't been having a good time winning games lately.
Trying to line up the picture just right, Ella was too focused on the image in her phone, and bumped into someone. She spun around and apologized, only to see her brother. Since she had left her quidditch team, and joined the circus, she had rarely seen anyone in her family. Was that on purpose? Some of it was. He mentioned not having pics of him and she laughed, snapping one just to spite him playfully sticking out her forked tongue. But he cracked a smile. “Circus in town, or is this a vacation?” That proves that they were not a close family. They never knew where she was. That was mostly on her, because she just didn't tell them. If they were on her social media, which she doubted, they would know as soon as she posted a picture. "Circus has been around for a could of months now. but I guess you've been busy with your team." Seeing as there were a number of muggles around, she didn't want to say "quidditch." She already knew that she was getting strange looks from the word "circus" but that part she loved. "Been a while Mick. How's it going?"
michelangelo tiberius mclaggen OOC: She didn't split her tongue until after joining the circus, so there is a chance he may or my not have already seen it. I'll let you decide

▲ A couple months? He sort of felt bad about that, but she also wasn’t wrong. The team had been practicing relentlessly once they were cleared to do so. All of the extra security measures that were put in place at both their stadium and practice facility made for an interesting off-season. Usually they took a couple weeks off after the Championship match to do what they wanted, most going on vacation, and then eased back into practicing for the start of the next season. “Sort of been on lockdown after the accident. The league has been putting us through safety classes and all that,” he explained. But that didn’t take up all of his free time, and they both knew that. He liked retreating back into his shell when he didn’t have to do Quidditch obligations, and that was exactly what happened every day after practice. Outside of team dinners and going out with the other players on the weekends, he was virtually a homebody. It was nice to escape Ballycastle every now and then though, but it still didn’t excuse him for not looking up when Ella’s circus was in town. “But I’ve been better. The coach has us doing group therapy lessons because we were at the match when it happened, and he thinks it’ll effect our play. I think everything dad put us through was worse, to be honest,” he stated. His brutal honesty wasn’t always liked at work, but that was the reality of it. Ella would understand what he meant. “So where are you set up? I’ll try to bring the team by the next off day we get.” Or rather he would probably just show up on his own. Convincing all of them to go when there wasn’t loud music or alcohol involved was pretty difficult. That was where he wished that they had a senior player on the team that could bring them all back down to Earth when they got too wild. Because right now, as long as they made it to practice and matches on time, their coach really didn’t seem to care too much about what they did. @donatella ● 358 ● Fallen Angels by Black Veil Brides MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Safety classes? Ouch, so glad she wasn't apart of that anymore. True, the circus had their own safety protocol, and drills, but they were comfortably known by this point. "Sounds rough" She shrugged, knowing full well that he still would have had free time, though the McLaggen family wasn't close, so she didn't blame any of them from staying away. Honestly, the girl would have been surprised to see any family member at one of her shows. True, it would have been nice, but completely unexpected.
She nodded, "Dad definitely put us through the ringer." If anything that helped her leave them. "Hope it helps you guys play better." She shrugged, she had been following the team, and knew that they weren't doing so well. She knew that it could be hard for the team. But he said that he would try to bring the team around, she smiled at that. "We're a little out in the country. If you know when, message me, and I'll make sure you have tickets." She rarely asked for tickets to a show, so she was confident that getting enough for the team wouldn't be too difficult. "Maybe then you could see my mad skill" She winked, playfully bragging.
She looked around "Hey you hungry?" True, it hadn't been long since she had last eaten, but Ella found that she was almost always go for a bite to eat.

▲ The ringer. Yeah, he could accept that as the proper way to explain to someone that didn’t understand what the Cormac McLaggen Special Quidditch Training Program was like. Mickey had been the proud winner of the first round of testing for it, only for everything to be perfected by the time Ella had to deal with it. There was no denying that it helped, in the sense that they both knew how to practice and play Quidditch at a higher level than most kids did starting out at Hogwarts. There were always the weird freak Quidditch savants, a few trickled through the house teams while they had been in school, but hard work, combined with their pedigree, made it easier for them to excel on the pitch just like the superstars did. Sometimes that aggravated him, but there was nothing he could about it now. He had reached the highest level of play, aside from being nominated to the national team. And that was all in due time. From what he could tell, he needed a couple more solid seasons to boost his stats, and then he’d be there. But yeah, it was still the ringer at the end of the day. “I hope so too. Not every day you get to see some of your colleagues and fans get blown up on accident,” he stated bluntly, and definitely a lot more morbidly than he intended it to come across. There was no putting it any other way though, and he was lucky that he had been far from the explosion when it occurred. “But yeah, it’s all good now,” he shrugged, deciding to let his sister detail where the circus was now. Mickey nodded his head as she said she had a ‘mad skill’, and he wondered what that actually meant. “It’s not something to do with the split tongue, is it?” he asked, finally noticing the modification she had made. That was certainly something else. Their parents hadn’t been the happiest in the world when both of them went off and started getting tattoos done left and right. Then again, they didn’t approve of Ella’s career change either, so why did a split tongue matter at this point? “Because I’ve seen stuff on the internet where people swallow swords and they have tongue’s similar to yours,” he explained further. At the same time, if she had figured out how to sword swallow, that seemed pretty cool. “I think I could get something, yeah,” he accepted her offer to get food. “So what’s this skill then? Don’t think I’ve been to any of our kinds of circuses in a while.” Or ever? There were so many festivals now, that he wasn’t sure if the performers overlapped or not. Hogsmeade was always playing host to these sorts of events, and he popped over whenever he could find the time. Now that Ella was involved with one of them though, he felt obligated to at least stop by her own show whenever she was in town. @donatella ● 505 ● Red Dead Redemption by Woody Jackson MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Ella could still remember the hours of training. As a young girl, yearning for her fathers attention and approval, she gladly accepted the torment. But as she grew older, and got into acrobatics, she started to want to play around more. Cormac McLaggen was not about fun and games when it came to training. But her confidence on a broom, and even in the air came in no small part due to those training sessions. You couldn't fly a broom and do a handstand if you had an ounce of fear about it. She had heard about the explosion, not being there herself, it sounded horrible. She wanted to be there for her brother, and others who may have been affected, but with practice and shows, she didn't have much time. And let's be honestly, they were never the "cuddly" sort of family. He said that things were good, so she took him at his word, nodding.
He mentioned her split tongue and she smiled wide, sticking it out, wiggling each side independently for a moment. She shook her head when he mentioned swallowing swords. "Nah, this little enhancement was just for fun. My real job is up in the air." She shrugged confidently, definitely bragging.
He agreed to food, and asked for clarification as to what exactly her skills were. "I do the areal stuff, you know, trapeze, tight rope, ribbon silks, and so on." Though she wasn't sure if her brother knew what any of those things meant. But if he didn't she could more than show him before, or after the show. She was happy where she was at, even though she knew her parents strictly disapproved. They hadn't approved in most of her decisions. But she was just trying to find herself outside of the McLaggen name. "So what are you in the mood for." she asked about food, honestly she wasn't picky.

▲ It all made sense that her new job in the circus had to do with heights. The McLaggens were fearless and unmatched – in his opinion – when it came to dangerous tricks in the air. Obviously his position at Keeper wasn’t exactly the best example of his flying skills, but they definitely existed. It just turned out that he was better at tracking chasers and defending goal posts than he was at taking death-defying dives when it came to chasing the quaffle or snitch. Those players were actually insane and usually had short careers because of it, whereas all he had to do was stop one ball at a time and avoid bludgers being slung at him. Easy enough, really. But the McLaggen pedigree definitely assisted in all of that, so there were a few reasons to be thankful for their rigid training program from the second they could work. Ella was definitely made for the crazier kinds of things, and doing the tight rope and trapeze fit her for sure. “You don’t say? I sort of thought you would be the type to want to get shot out of a cannon, or something like that,” he teased, though he had definitely thought she would be doing that at least once or twice since she quit Quidditch. For food, he shrugged. There were infinite possibilities in London, and they had even more than that if they wanted to apparate somewhere else. Today was an off day, since the matches were usually held Thursday thru Sunday, so he had nowhere to be today. “Your choice, my treat,” he offered. “I can’t really come up with anything off the top of my head. I understand if you want to avoid Diagon though, in case dad is out at lunch.” The Daily Prophet headquarters were there, after all, and despite knowing his father’s usual lunch spots, there was still always the chance that he could make a deviation and end up bumping into them. Explaining that wouldn’t bode well for either of them, and he disliked being chastised as an adult. @donatella ● 347 ● Censored by Beartooth MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Ever since she was young, Ella loved to be up in the air. On broom, the balance beam, uneven bars, you name it. It only made since that she would end up where she was now. She even started trying some acrobatics on her broom when she was still at school. Her balance and skills helped as a keeper. The McLaggen kids were taught to be fearless on brooms. Many would think that she was insane for performing the way that she did, but that was all part of the show. The gasp as the audience fears her time had come always brought a smile to her face.
Ella laughed as her brother mentioned that he saw her being shot out of a cannon. "Maybe one day, but for now, I'm happy with staying up high." She looked up with a smile, thinking of the trapeze, leaping from one swinging bar to another, the potential to miss and fall. The adrenaline was exhilarating.
Her brother said that she could choose, and that he would pay. Which may have been a mistake. The girl had an apatite. He mentioned Diagon Alley, it was tempting, but the prospect of running into their father made her pull a face. She hadn't seen the man since her letter telling her parents that she was leaving quidditch and joining the circus. The subsequent howler that followed wasn't a surprise. She looked around, noting a railing near by. She moved to it, jumping on and standing on the balls of her feet. Poised, she searched the area for a place that looked good. Once she found it, and feeling a little flashy, she made sure that the area was clear, and flipped off. Turning back to her brother she smiled "There's a pub over there that looks nice" She motioned the direction that she had seen the place.

▲ Mickey didn’t know much about what a muggle circus entailed these days, but whatever they did, he was sure that the one his sister was part of now did everything the muggles did except with a magical twist to it. He wasn’t even sure if shooting people out of cannons was something they did at circuses and yet he could still imagine Ella wanting to do it. With magic, anything could be done rather safely, and she obviously wasn’t afraid of heights or being in the air at higher speeds than most were used to. The trapeze suited her, just as a broom and a quaffle in her hands had. Not that he was one to talk. He fell right into line like he was supposed to, maybe even paving the way for her, and Rafe if he chose to. Quidditch was both a blessing and a curse, and it was better that he was actually decent at it. Had it been any other way, he still feared what the outcome may have been. Seeing the way Ella was barely mentioned around their father meant that anything but Quidditch was considered a failure, though he had always known that. Now the constant preaching had been put into practice. Allowing Ella to choose where they would eat seemed like a good idea initially, but before he could really process what was going on, she had managed to hop up onto a railing and scanning the area they were in. All Mickey could do was step back and away from her, and stare, confused, with his mouth hanging slightly open. Much like he was doing, the crowd of muggles that had been walking around them were also staring at his sister, but they were able to keep walking. Was this sort of thing normal with them? Continuing his surprised stare at her as she waited for a clearing and then flipped off of the railing, Mickey simply nodded his head as she explained that there was a pub nearby. “Right…if your show catered to this kind, I’d tell you to start handing out advertisements. That would get you loads of people coming by.”@donatella ● 361 ● Scent of Evil by Chelsea Grin MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Ella adored heights. She preferred it over being on the ground, ever day. She was born to be an acrobat. Sure, she had been trained sense childhood as a quidditch player, but she was happier now. She tried the Quidditch path that her father expected, but was out before her first season ended. It was the right decision. Though she was practically disowned by her actions. It was a small price to pay for her happiness. At least her and Mickey could still be close.
With the crowds around her, it was hard to get a full grasp on the food places around them. True, she could have looked on her phone, but this was funnier. She didn't mind the looks that passers by gave her. She thrived the attention. As she watched out for a clearing, she noted her brothers open mouth. With a smile she flipped off the railing, informing him about what he found. She laughed as he mentioned passing out advertisements. "Thanks Mick."
They moved to the pub she pointed out walking in and Ella inhaled the smell of muggle alcohol and greasy bar food. Turning to her companion she spoke. "You may regret offering to pay"

▲ Like most muggles, the crowd that was immediately around them when Ella did her little stunt seemingly cared, but the rest as they walked couldn’t even be bothered. That was city life, apparently. He had grown accustomed to the quiet, seaside life of Ballycastle, despite not actually living in the town. That was simply where every waking hour was spent the last few years. He didn’t mind crowds, though they usually meant a match was about to start, rather than being a crowded muggle street like this. It was easy to forget what normal people did, considering that his life was anything but that. Being a wizard was one facet of that, but then he had the privilege of being a professional athlete. That still meant something to fans of Quidditch, and was only growing with the new magic tech that had been hitting the streets the last few months. It was an interesting thing, being able to follow the same social media path as muggle athletes just with a lot less money in it. The end goal was still getting onto the national team, and that would be peak success in his opinion. As they stepped into the pub that Ella had brought him to, she immediately stated that he would regret his offer, and he was starting to understand why. This place looked like it had solid pub food. That wasn’t always a thing, but he was ready for whatever his sister threw at him bill wise. Maybe. “Try me. The Bats might not bring in as much as Yorkshire or Puddlemere, but they treat me well enough.” And paid for all of his meals during the season. That was money that went straight into his pocket that he could use how he pleased. Mostly for situations like this when he happened to get a break away from the team. He took a seat in one of the booths right next to the door, and slid across the slightly sticky bench, and grabbed an equally gross feeling laminated menu. It was basically adhered to the table, and he had to pry it up with his nails. Perfect pub atmosphere right there. “I don’t know why I even bother looking at the menus at these places, I always end up getting the same thing,” he mused as he tried to slide it to the other side of the table to his sister. @donatella ● 403 ● The Tide by Pale Waves MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

It didn't matter if anyone around appreciated her stunt, Ella just couldn't have resisted. She loved performing in front of an audience, but where her true passion stood was in the acrobatic arts themselves. Performing and traveling were a welcomed bonus. Most around ignored her little stunt, as usual. But that didn't matter to her. The circus was her family, they had been ever since she had left her family chosen career to be a performer.
The reunited siblings walked into the pub, and Ella mentioned that he may regret offering to pay. She had always had a big apatite, but it had nearly doubled since joining the circus. She practiced nearly all day every day, and ate like it too. It had clearly been a long time since the two had seen each other, so she was sure he had forgotten. She laughed as he mentioned that he was paid well enough. "Don't tempt me." She tease threatened back to him.
He picked a spot, and she slid in across the table from him. The place didn't have pristine cleaning standards, but certainly wasn't the worst place she had stayed. Even so, it was all part of the fun of choosing random places to eat at. He tried to send her over the menu, but in true fashion, it clung to the surface. She pealed it off with a nail as she looked at it. "Classic pub food, hard to go wrong." It didn't take long for a server to come their way. With a smile Ella started. "I'll take a bangers and mash, with some fish and chips too. Whatever beer you have on tap as well." Looking to her brother. "And what about you Mick?"

▲ Ella wasn’t kidding when she had warned him about how much she was going to be ordering off the menu. Even though he stated that it was fine, he was still surprised by her two orders and then choosing to wash them down with drinks. He too had times where he was a bottomless pit when it came to food – the necessary calories to keep active in the professional sense was actually insane. Flying on a broom and blocking a ball from going in one of three hoops had no place being as exerting as it was, but it definitely gave him a good workout. It made sense then that Ella probably needed to intake even more than he did. Being an entertainer in a circus absolutely used more energy than anything he did in a normal day ever could. Following her order, he decided that what he was initially going to order really wasn’t what he wanted. “I’ll have the fish and chips too and…” he thought for a moment about what he wanted to drink, “Whatever stout you have. Doesn’t matter to me.” His indecisiveness was probably going to buy him a Guinness, but that was okay with him. The beer-battered crust of the fish mixed great with the heavy, chewy alcohol and only made it that much better. It was his favorite combination, aside from maybe a Shepherd’s Pie with a good, strong ale or two. Those always hit the spot after a match in the cold or rain. “So do you have a set schedule for shows while you’re in town?” he asked, trying to get back onto the topic that they had been discussing out on the street. If they were usually on the weekends, that would be pretty difficult to get to if he had a match the same day, but almost anything else worked for him. He doubted the team would miss him for an evening. Swapping out drinking on his own in a club while they partied to watch his sister perform wasn’t going to bring down the team cohesion or anything like that. At least he hoped it wouldn’t. @donatella ● 358 ● The Return by Shadow of Intent MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Ella was quite an active girl, and as such, she ate more than many others she knew. She had always had a naturally large apatite, but activities made it even greater. As an areal performer in the circus, Ella had to climb ribbons, hang form hoops, leap from flying bars, and so much more, on top of everything, she had to make it all look graceful and effortless. She worked day in and day out to perfect her routines, often working with others who were doing the same. She worked harder than she ever had before, and yet, she had never been happier.
Her brother ordered his food, much less than her, she wasn't suppressed. Even those at the circus often commented that the amount of food she could eat in one sitting was an act in and of itself. He asked about the scheduling of shows and Ella nodded. "We preform most evenings, save a one or two during the week, and double that on weekends." The days off were for the performers as much as it was for the maintenance. It would be devastating if their was an accident, and worse off if it happened in front of an audience. "There's usually a matinee, then a later show on weekends. We get a lot of good crowds for both. But any time. You could even bring your team if you think they'd be interested. Just let me know what day and I'm sure I can get some tickets set aside for you."
