December 31 2023-January 1 2024 New Years Eve Party
Sapphira-Rose had been invited to a fantaaaaastic New Years Eve Party in Paris. Which was probably was of the best places to celebrate New Years aside from New York City! It was quite the event. She was invited by a wealthy client. The woman had commissioned quite a few elaborate glass pieces from Sapphire-Rose in the past few months so the invitation was a way to thank her "favorite artist". And OF COURSE, the blonde was going! She'd never miss an opportunity like this! No doubt it'd be a great networking opportunity to meet all the client's wealthy friends. Plus, when you threw money like this around you didn't hold anything back. It was going to be a huge party.
Dolled up to the highest degree, Sapphire-Rose would a shimmering, figure hugging, blue dress. It reminded her of Van Gogh's Starry Night, only much more flattering. She wore a large yellow diamond necklace and matching dangling earrings (designed by her wonderful, brother of course. He was the only jeweler she wore now a days!), that stood out brilliantly against the blue dress. Her make up was perfect and she'd pulled her hair back into a slick bun, so as to draw all the attention to the perfect jewelry and her own eyes. Curtesy of her father. They'd always been one of her favorite features about herself. The icy blue eyes that stood out against her pale skin and hair. Her brother had gotten them too. Sort of. His eyes were mix matched, but one of them was that same brilliant blue. Alluring eyes, many said. Many men and women had grown weak in the knees when meeting Sapphire-Rose or her brother's eyes. They took after their father in that way too. Their Veela father.
Satisfied with her appearance, she left the hotel and headed to the party. She flashed brilliant smiles, putting on a well trained act. Charismatic, lovely, warm. She laughed at a man's joke, lightly touching his arm as she felt his eyes trailing down her body. She accepted a glass of champagne and made a toast with another that couldn't tear his eyes away from her own. A third couldn't stop complimenting her. She was used to it. Veela charm really did wonders on the weak minded.
Then, she saw him. The most handsome man at the party. Sure, there were many beautiful people. Beautiful art pieces. Beautiful dresses. But he was by far the most. It was alluring, those eyes so dark she felt like she could drown in them. A perfectly tailored suit made from expensive fabrics. His dark hair slicked back, not a hair out of place. He wasn't perfect, and she'd seen more beautiful people before. But something about him attracted her. The way he carried himself with such cool confidence. The side glance he gave her, but then not turning to fawn over her like the others.
That confused her. Why wasn't he melting at the sight of her? Why wasn't he telling her how beautiful she was? Why didn't he come to her, to meet her, and talk to her? His calm collected actions intrigued her. Lured her to him. Because she had to meet this man. This beautiful man.
They spoke. She hung on every word he said. He offered her a drink and she gladly took it. He asked her to dance and her hand was in his before he could even finish the question. His hand caressed her waist as they danced and she felt butterflies in her stomach. She stared up into those dark eyes and just sank into them. Gladly, willingly. Dear god, who was this man?
Then, the count down. He held her waist as they watched.

This alluring stranger turned to her, pulling her close with the hand still around her waist and kissed her. As he pulled back he gave her the most charming smile. "I'm Xavier. What's your name?"
