overall personality:
Stan is without a doubt a very grounded and relaxed kind of man. Despite not having an easy start to life he's found a way to take it all in and not let it negatively impact him. He's nice to everybody, even if others might not feel that they deserve it. Unlike many others he always hopes for redemption and hates the idea of exile and forcing people away from Hy-brasil, although he understands it might be needed at times. He wishes for a world of peace and plenty that can be shared with everybody. He might be highly idealistic and not always realistic in his wishes but he doesn't let his hopes and dreams impact his judgement.
When called upon, Stan can be merciless and almost ruthless. Yet despite all this he is never cruel and always tries to take an approach that will lead to the most peaceful solution, even if this requires more violence that absolutely needed. He doesn't really believe in doing things half way and will fully commit to anything he sets his mind to. At times this leads to his more stubborn streak showing but usually this means he'll pursue any means needed to acquire what is needed for his goals, including different perspectives and knowledge. He believes that once you've closed your mind on something you have clipped your own wings and stifled your own growth until you allow the doors of your mind to open once again.

history:
Stan was born on the border of luck and doom, as his parents would often jokingly say when he was still very young. Born just before the change of year at the dusk of the last day of the century the newborn was born and beheld the change of both a year and a decade within his very first moments of life. The fact his birth was just in time to behold such a massive change in the world at large would impact Stan greatly, much as his father had foreseen long before he'd been born. Unfortunately he and his wife would only know of the future of their child due to the sight, as they never lived to behold it themselves.
Born on the eve of bad luck meant that there was a constant flicker of doubt in Stan's soul when he was younger. While he was born just before the change in year and thus avoided the bad luck in january he was due to wait a month before his birth was celebrated and his parents kept up the tradition of waiting a month between his birth and festivities, as Gaia had willed it. When he was younger Stan hated it, but he grew to appreciate the waiting period and used it as a time of reflection.
You see, when Stan turned fourteen he begged his parents to for once celebrate on his day of birth rather than in February. His parents reluctantly obliged, although this in part was because his father had seen it would be the last birthday his wife and himself would share with their only son. Before February had come both had perished in the world outside Hy-brasil.
Orphaned and alone, Stan was taken in by Olive Hannach, one of the priestesses on Hy-brasil. She continued the education of faith and trust in Gaia his parents had begun. Within nothing else to cling to and an enormous sense of survivors guilt, Stan became a very devout young man and was quick to pledge life and loyalty to Gaia and the spirits, hoping his parents would guide him. January was honoured as a month of reflection and on the start of Imbolc Stan would celebrate his birthday with all the more joy.
Due to his extreme devotion and understanding of life and balance through the hardships of his life, Stan rose quickly in the ranks and was trained even well before most in some of the more intricate druidic rituals, leading him to get a very important position at the side of the older High Druid, chosen at age of 24 as council member for the first time. He studied more and devoted his life to Gaia, although this did not stop him from having a personal life, as long as nobody asked him to let his faith slide for sake of their hearts.
During his training and earlier years, Stan would often visit the various druid colonies and families that had settled outside of Hy-brasil, even if visits were often relatively brief with smaller groups he did manage to maintain friendships with druids from all over the world, helping him to a much broader understanding of what being a druid can be outside the sometimes narrow perspective of Hy-brasil.
When Stan was 25 the High Priest that had taught him all he knew passed away and he was chosen as the next High Priest. While still reeling from this massive change to his life, Stan managed to take it in stride and find his new place, even if he still feels a little out of place. People now look to him to make the choices and while he feels prepared and with all he should now at hand, he doesn't quite feel ready yet. Here merely plans to do what right for as far as he can see.
While highly unorthodox, Stan has made it a habit to visit as many of the druids that no longer live on Hy-brasil as possible and he will meet with any as long as it can be done safely. He believes that if one is truly a druid at heart, they will never abandon the way of life, even if they feel that the community might have abandoned them. He tries to involve the outcasts, although not quite openly and in a lesser degree than those that need his help and guidance back home. He believes nobody deserves to be cut off from their faith, even if they lost their place within the community. After all, it's impossible to fully break ones connection to the very earth we walk and to try to do this would be to try and keep Gaia from her children as much as keeping her children from her. It just doesn't feel right to him.
site events reaction:
The breaking of the barrier and the appearance of Yrisle have kept Stan very busy. He's constantly searching for more to know about what happened and how to restore the barrier and banish the wyrdness once again. He's secretly researching ways to possibly seal away Hy-brasil from the world completely, although this is not a measure he wants to take. Despite that he'll do literally anything (including isolating and locking up hundreds of his kin) in order to preserve the druids and their way of life.
