Vasilia knew this was stupid. So SO stupid. But when she'd heard that Rhys was home for the day? Well... She'd sort of acted without thinking. She'd heard a few people mention the magical island, and how intense it was... and just... She'd gotten caught up in her thoughts. Rhys was there for his work. Ilija was going soon. Though Rhys was home today for some Curse breaker business and the full moon. She knew that the combination was probably hitting him pretty hard. He always got out of sorts when the full moon was near. So... She just wanted to do something nice for him.
It wasn't because of her feelings though! No, no way. Couldn't be that. She didn't even want to think about that mess. God, she'd never liked anyone before. Not like that. Sure, she'd dated a bit but just didn't feel for people that way. She'd long since decided that maybe she just wasn't the sort of romantically like people. He was her brother's school friend and coworker! God, she shouldn't be having those kinds of feelings for her brother's friends! And yet.... Every time she thought of him now her heart fluttered.
Nope, today absolutely had nothing to do with those feelings. She just wanted to do something nice for her friend who was no doubt going to have a rough evening! Finding out where he lived had been been easy, she'd made sure to get his address for the Violet Hound (just in case he got to intoxicated to apparate) after the last time. She doubted he had time to talk though, so she'd come up with a better plan.
It was an hour before dark, and she stepped off the Knight Bus in front of his building, a large basket in her arms. Shifting the weight a little, she followed the directions to the flat in question and set the basket down in front of the door. She was tempted to knock, but decided against it. So, after nitpicking at the basket for a second, to make sure it looked perfect, she left.
Vasilia was long gone by the time Rhys got home. But when he did get home he would find the basket in front of his door. Inside was a casserole, with heating instructions, a plate of freshly baked cinnamon cookies with whiskey frosting, and a hand written note that only had a single sentence and a smiley face.
A pick me up for tonight.
