Time was fleeting. And it was passing much more quickly than Brígh would have liked. They were already halfway through spring term, with the final stretch of classes looming over her. Thinking critically about her career prospects was such an Addy thing, but the pair hadn't been best friends for seven years for some of their qualities to rub off on one another. Brígh was entirely serious about becoming a curse breaker - she craved adventure like a starved man longed for a meal. While she had toyed with the idea of becoming an auror, something about working within the ministry put her off slightly. She didn't know much about the political structure, only that she feared a Purifier coming into power. She recalled the stories of Voldemort's second rise to power, how easily the ministry had come under his control. Brígh wanted the freedom of adventure, even as she would so certainly fight back.
Multiple sources had told Brígh to seek out Professor Selwyn, a former curse breaker and the current History of Magic professor. So during the lunch hour, Brígh sought her out. She wasn't in the Great Hall, so Brígh excused herself from a conversation with Eggy and Dickie to seek her out. Professor Selwyn wasn't in the History of Magic classroom either, so there was one last place Brígh could think to look.
Two disgruntled gargoyles guarded the doors to the staff room, slinging insults to those who passed by. "Mind yourself, leprechaun," said one. Brígh didn't deign to give them the attention they desired, instead knocking on the door of the staff room. She pressed open the heavy wooden door, and was relieved to find Professor Selwyn within. "Professor Selwyn. I wondered if I might have a word?" asked Brígh tentatively.
