Emrys understood that his bodyguards were there for a good reason. They helped keep him safe from more enthusiastic fans, and also helped keep an eye on him for Charlotta. But none of that meant that he had to talk to them, or acknowledge them as anything more than his shadow.
It seemed as though Xantha had learned quickly what the best way to motivate or distract the celebrity. His interest in the cakes and pies was obvious, but also knew exactly. He followed her and the candy filled cart to another area, this one had cooler air around it. After guiding him there, Xantha stepped back. Emrys smiled. He didn't know that one could get cakes, and pies in a common store such as this. Though he had to question the quality. It couldn't clearly be anywhere as good as any of his regular bakeries, especially at those prices. After he had a moment to take the area in, Xantha spoke, reminding them about storage. It was such a shame that he couldn't magically enlarging the cold box they had purchased. But that wasn't going to happen, so he thought, raising his hand to his chin as he pondered.
Emrys was what most would classify as frivolous, but he could think things through. If he purchased more here that couldn't fit, they would have to eat it before they got to their location. That wasn't bad, but that also meant that there would be less of a close intimate interaction in the back of the car. Now the question was, how did he want to enjoy on the ride up? That wasn't a hard question. Emrys grabbed a few small items and placed them into the cart. "I think that'll be good."

Xantha was almost surprised at the self restraint he practised when they did end up with the pastries. He considered it, seemingly throughly, before purchasing a few items that would probably fit into the cooler they had. Barely, but in the end it wouldn't be a problem. It would just take some careful packing and almost planning how to put everything into the box to ensure everything would fit. They were lucky his budged had allowed for what was essentially a portable fridge rather than one of those oldfashioned boxes she and her dad and sister had taken on their camping trips. A box that retained the cold rather well but you needed to keep the cooling elements in them and those also took up space. That wouldn't be a problem with the highly expensive portable mini fridge he'd purchased. She almost felt bad for her suggestions but well, he was the kind of guy that wanted and could easily afford the best fo the best. There was no reason not to listen to his request and get what he wanted. Even if that meant she'd almost fainted at the idea of the bill that he didn't even blink twice at. Such different lives indeed.
She nodded and pushed the cart towards check out. She knew the price tag was going to be far outside of her budget range but she had to take that in stride. Emrys was buying all the candy for himself and the actual healthy food in the cart was shared. Since she'd be doing all the actual cooking she had to remind herself that it paid back for the fact she wasn't contributing to this trip financially. She had done most of the planning, would be doing the cooking and had helped out in his finding him the best possible equipment he could get. Besides, he'd needed to lay low and she'd suggested camping. He'd invited her along in part to pay him back for the mess she'd made when she'd gotten herself stabbed. Somehow it felt like there was something lopsided, but she wasn't going to argue. She needed a get away, no matter what reasons there were. She felt less bothered about things being fair around Emrys compared to most others either way. He knew he could ask whatever he wanted and she'd give it without question at this point. He'd saved her life, it wasn't possible to fully repay that debt either way.
After putting everything on the check out and then repacking it while Emrys paid, she looked at her friend with a slightly excited look on her face. "Where off to next?" She asked him, her eyes sparkling with mischief as she considered what he'd been teasing her with earlier. This was going to be a good start to the trip, if nothing else.

Emrys had expensive tastes. There was no secret to that. He had the money to do it too, so why not? A high bill meant nothing to him. The simple concept of money was an illusion. All he had to do was use some simple plastic card, or even some form of numbers and he could take what he wanted. He didn't have to think about it. He had people who did that for him. All he had to do, is buy what he wanted.
After picking the pastries, they headed off to check out. They had agreed that he would pay, while she would make their meals. The two of them would then entertain each other as much as they wished. He needed to lay low, and Xantha had suggested camping. It only made sense that they would go together. Getting away seemed like a good thing for both of them. The vampire paid for the food in the cart and once done, he glanced over at the excited look on Xantha's face, mirroring it with a smile of his own. He licked his lips at the question. "I think it's time to head to the car." He spoke seductively. It was clear that his words held much more meaning than the innocent action of getting into a car.
The two headed out, with his shadow not far behind. After packing their food away, perishable items, and non perishable items respectively. Once that was completed, both got into the back seat and the body guard and driver started the car and began the trip to the location that had been previously decided on. It didn't take long for Emrys to press his lips against Xantha's skin.

Emrys and his ostentatious way of getting around the world were obvious to Xantha and she didn't care. Sometimes being around him kind of felt like being Wendy trying to talk sense into Peter Pan, had the fictional character been insanely rich and a lot more interested in pleasures of the physical kind rather than fighting a pirate. Emrys wasn't the kind of guy that gave the impression that he wanted more out of life than what he already had and his money and pretty much ensured he could get whatever he wanted if he didn't have it yet. Perhaps money and fame couldn't buy love, but Xantha didn't have the idea that Emrys was interested in a long term relationship either way. He was so utterly and completely comfortable with every single aspect of his life that she didn't think there was anything there that would ever change. As unchanging as the sun, but if she got too close she'd most certainly regret it.
Yet those small moments she captured were like sunbathing. Absolutely wonderful and just a little addictive. She knew she couldn't have more, but she also wasn't stupid enough to ask for it. She didn't want to ask anything more either, as their interests were currently perfectly aligned. Entertainment, and nothing more. She didn't want to think about getting married or having a family at any point in her life. She just wanted to focus on her career and earn herself a ticket out of her neighbourhood. Never by dating a rich guy, as that was temporary. She wanted to be able to provide for herself. Trusting and depending on other people was too much of a risk. Yet she followed Emrys and trusted him blindly, mostly because she knew exactly what to expect of him. He didn't want more than she was willing to give, more likely he wanted less than she was willing to offer. It kept things simple and easy.
The pair headed for the car and got in. Xantha had provided the location of a wild camping site quite close to an actual camping site (because electricity to charge the phones) and the cars would soon enough be heading out with more gear than she thought was possible. She vaguely wondered for half a moment if his bodyguard intended to haunt the woods to ensure his safety but she dismissed the idea quick enough. It didn't matter if he did, because even if he was monitoring them it was likely that he'd stay out of sight. He wouldn't be trying to stop them from doing anything to entertain each other. It didn't take too long for the car to start driving and for Emrys to press his lips to her exposed skin. Well, she was definitively planning to indulge on this.
