We're biding time
as we wait for the signal

James crossed his arms and stood tall, and surveyed his handiwork in front of him. Finally, the second floor of the Ministry of Magic was ready. Satisfied, James nodded to himself and grinned—even though he had been incredibly annoyed that his many talents were being underutilized, he had worked hard to prepare for these few days. This floor would be overrun by the seventh-year students from Hogwarts who wanted a chance to speak to the people that would be attending. In attendance, he expected some of the Hogwarts staff. Naturally, the students typically arrived with their head of house via portkeys set up in the village. Not all students would attend. James remembered a few students in his year who chose not to participate for various reasons, but James had been excited. With everything that had gone on that year—it had been a highlight, a small bright light in that darkness he had begun to fall into.

Ministry employees from every department had promised to stop by on either day of the fair and journalists from The Daily Prophet, the Quibbler, and Witch Weekly. James personally had chased down Cade after the last Order meeting to ensure his attendance, and the Cursebreakers in the group recalling Brigh’s mention of her future career choice. But more would attend, the options for careers were almost overwhelming to look at sometimes, and though some preferred a quieter life after Hogwarts and so many business owners searching for part-time staff would also be here. There were tables and chairs for people to sit and talk and tables off to the right with various beverages and snacks (however, no firewhiskey or any alcohol for that matter). He had also considered asking his father to attend but didn’t want to cause a fuss because the Harry Potter was in attendance. Still, James was excited and almost didn’t mind anymore that Bianca had given him this assignment after his incessant pestering about possibly going to that mysterious island in the sea as it seemed many who had gone before would rather quit than go back. For now he made sure his temporary name tag was displayed on his shirt: “James Potter, Hit-Wizard” so students who interested could find him easily.
