Sometime following this thread.
Lately Lulu felt depleted. She was bored with school and her studies. School was never easy for her and she didn’t enjoy sitting for long periods of time, so academics and studying were always a challenge. She enjoyed stimulating the mind in other areas, involving art, or her body. Not boring ol’ formulas and outdated instructions. She hated it. She only did well in school because she had to in order to play quidditch. Her parents wouldn’t allow it otherwise since they believed the sport was too dangerous for females. How sexist!
Shortly after dinner Lulu snuck off to the music room to play her favorite instrument, the piano. It was one of the few things that calmed the storm inside her, those 88 keys took her full and dedicated concentration. Quidditch didn’t take as much brainpower, it was natural to throw her body in front of those hoops, she was a ferocious keeper. The nurses at the hospital wing knew her well, since she had a penchant for breaking bones, more recent, her nose. Never anything the hospital wing couldn’t fix. She had a great pain threshold and found great entertainment out of grossing her classmates out with blood and dislocated bones.
Her fingers moved gracefully and intently over the keys as her feet pushed the pedals as the lively song came to a full crescendo. Moonlight Sonata (3rd movement) by Ludwig Beethoven. She may have been a Pureblood witch but her parents didn’t shelter her from talent. It was a song she had memorized for a recital at 13 years old and it was burned into her memory since then, her feet and fingers knew where to move in perfect timing. Lulu was so focused, swaying dramatically to the music at the edge of the bench, she wouldn’t have noticed someone walk in unless if they made themselves known.

SKETCHBOOK UNDER ONE ARM, NATE WAS traipsing back from the dungeons with charcoal on his fingertips and a joint behind one ear. Up he went, until the air thinned and wind could be heard whistling through the cracks in the stonework. But, it wasn't the wind that caught Nate's attention as he turned a corner on the fifth floor. The gentle caress of music haunted the hallway outside of the door. Paintings of all kinds dancing gracefully from frame to frame with varied levels of success.
Nate paused, fingers flexing on his book as he listened for a lingering moment. He didn't usually pay much attention to whims, unless they served a particular purpose. However, he couldn't help but wonder which ghost was haunting the keys of the music room. With a laborious sigh, Nate crept towards the door sly-footed. Chewing gum clenched between his back teeth as he cracked the doorway and peeked a head in.
Near the back of the room, a head and shoulders swayed as fingers blurred across the ivory keys. Nate didn't know the tune, but he was transfixed. When did Lulu Blishwick learn to do anything but wank off and roll joints with those hands? Pulling himself through the gap, Nate leaned against the wood and slid down until he was seated on the cold stone. The room vibrating with sound as he untucked his book and narrowed his eyes, wondering how much of her he might sketch before she stopped and found him. He wasn't shy as he flipped his sketchbook open to a blank page and licked his stained fingertips, marring his bottom lip as he pulled a stalk out and roughly put it to paper.
Eventually, the song ended, but Nate didn't stop. An image burned in to the back of his eyes. Of hair in perpetual movement and lithe fingers losing form on a pristine piano. He smudged the image of rabid change around those hands and spoke up when the sound stopped echoing. A crack in the perfect silence, "You're a dark Granian in disguise," He drawled in to his page. Voice barely loud enough to be carried across the room after such an outburst of magnificent sound. He lifted his head, narrowed eyes, tongue dashing out to taste peppermint and charcoal on his bottom lip. "Should'a known with hands like that." He quirked his brows suggestively.

As the song finished Lulus fingers lifted from the keys as she listened to the notes echo through the heigh ceilings. She loved how sound carried through the music room, it always left her speechless with a smile. The lovely feeling and satisfied smile was torn from her face when a voice behind her called her a horse. A dark Granian, but a breed of horse nonetheless. The purple haired snake let out a blood curdling scream, the keys mashing out of surprise, which emitted a horror movie sound through the hall. Lulu sprang up to her feet, sending the piano bench under her let out an ungodly screech as it skid against the wood floor. She froze with wide icy blue saucers, covering her mouth after the dramatic outburst, face going red hot with a chuckle. Suddenly she felt embarrassed, for one of the first times in her entire life. Not from someone seeing her play piano - she loved being watched. She was mortified from screaming like a prissy little girl in front of Nate Forrester of all people. Her mouth opened to suck in a breath of air hastily, “Fucking Hell, Forrester!” She yelled, hair whipping over her shoulder, “What’re you doin’ in here lurkin’ like a grumpy-faced great white shark!?” She spat at him quickly. Her heart beat against her chest rapidly, body shaking with fear as she breathed in and out. Lulu was so focus and absorbed the music, he actually scared the hell out of her. She had no idea how long he had been sitting there, and she was too scared to ask. It didn’t matter. His face was buried in a book with busy hands anyways. A small part of her wondered what he was doing. She had never seen Nate appear calm while doing anything…peaceful wasn’t the right word…but he didn’t appear to fancy punching a wall for once. The comment on her hands made her eyes dart to the older boy, tilting her head to the side. He could vouch for that one after the their sexcapade to Jimmies bedroom over Christmas holiday. The thought caused the corners of her lips to twitch into a tiny smile. "Can't deny having 'good hands', but never been much of a horse girl." she said flatly. Nathaniel David Forrester

A PART OF NATE WISHED HE'D DRAWN LULU'S face as she'd turned instead. Wide with shock, hand over her mouth. Like she'd been caught in the showers, and not just playing a moody tune on the piano. Then again, Nate hadn't known she could do that. Maybe she didn't want people to know how aristocratic she was underneath all that lazy banter. After all, she was a still Blishwick. And unfortunately, Nate still sort of liked her. It was undignified.
"I was listening..." Nate drawled slowly, as if talking down a jumper. "Charm the room if you don't want people to hear you." He snorted derisively, dipping his chin to continue the shadowing on the tilted lid of the piano. He didn't care for it, but that wasn't the point of the drawing so he was lenient on himself. Though he knew, deep down, that she was right about him sneaking up on her, Nate didn't care. He'd never had much respect for social boundaries. Which wasn't that difficult to believe when he made the bulk of his cash from stolen items.
Lifting his head a moment too late, Nate narrowed his eyes as if he were appraising Lulu for a moment. Clicking his tongue suddenly as he snapped the book shut and straightened his legs, sprawling them across the floor. "You sure?" He asked her jeeringly. The book flat in his lap, charcoal curled in to his fist so it was digging in to the skin of his palm. "Look a bit like a horse girl to me." He teased her, tongue in cheek as he rocked his feet absently.

Nate told her that she should have locked the door if she didn’t want people listening to her. After gaining her composure after a couple of seconds, Lulu inhaled with a laugh, ”I don’t care about that. Seeing you scared me.” she admitted to him with scrunched brows, suddenly feeling self conscious again. Nate had a way of twisting words and making her feel all…funky. But he was also very good at making her feel other things...
Lulu wasn’t sure if Nate meant that she looked like an actual horse, or she appeared to have frequent equestrian endeavors. She wasn’t going to ask. Lulu shook her head, sitting back down on the wooden bench, “Just going to pretend like that was a compliment…” she said happily over her shoulder while smoothing out her skirt. The purple haired snake liked Nate's current non-threatening position on the ground, long legs sprawled out in front of him with notebook in his lap. Sat with his back against the wall where he had to look up to her. She also kind of liked the unsuspecting charcoal smudged on his bottom lip that she didn't have the heart to tell him about yet.
She tapped the keys absently, playing a gentle improv melody, ”I’ll play for you…” she offered with a smile, "What kind of music do you like?” she asked him curiously, wondering if Nate was someone who even appreciated music. Lulu was going to offer genres, but wanted to see what he said first. Something told her he wouldn’t be the type for Wrock, which was a good thing, that music was too cheesy.

NATE WAS NOT SURE IF HE SHOULD FEEL insulted. His eyes narrowing gently as he looked at her, the brutal honesty of her claim glancing off his surface and settling out of reach. "Well I'm not very sorry," He replied, flexing his own brutal honesty in return. That was precisely the problem, of course. Nate was rarely ever contrite, and most who knew him knew this. He shrugged under the scrutiny and moved on.
His mouth turned in to a smirk as she fiddled with her skirt and he caught it from the corner of his eye unintentionally. "You do that," He replied snidely, tongue catching the corner of his mouth as he pressed the charcoal between his fingers reflexively. He missed the smudge by a long shot, but his lips still tasted smoky as he closed the sketchbook and switched his attention. The offer felt like a flirt, and Nate was a little too willing as he shifted his position and lifted himself on to his feet.
"Thought you already were," He said smartly, the book tucked under his arm as he crossed the room and leaned against the side of the piano, his book clutched in his hand and half propped on the lip of the grand instrument. His mind reeling over her request as she looked at him expectantly. His folded his bottom lip into his mouth and between his top teeth, sucking gently before he answered teasingly, "Grime." The genre was big among his muggle friends back in London, and Nate had spent a lot of time assimilating his tastes growing up. But, he also knew a few classical artists, mostly from his time at his Muggle foster home so many years before. "Chopin." He corrected, his expression leeched of humour, a gentle curiosity tearing his gaze from Lulu, to the keys,

Lulu's icy saucers narrowed on the snake, ”I was playing for myself before, not you.” she jested in a bratty tone, batting her eyelashes more playfully at the end. Nate's energy was hard to match, he constantly kept her on her toes. Hell, she was pretty sure she enjoyed every uncomfortable moment of it because it gave her a thrill. Not the same kind of thrill as quidditch, or doing something when she knew she shouldn't. She didn't know what it was.
Her eyes carefully watched him as he closed the distance and leaned against the piano. She could feel his presence now that he was in the proximity of her personal bubble. At first she almost felt uncomfortable, until she realized she had a better view of the charcoal on his lip now. There was a lingering stare at his lips when she noticed it.
The corner of her lips twitched, head tilting to the side when he said ‘grunge’ was his favorite kind of music. It was somewhat the answer she was expecting, but he quickly corrected his answer to Chopin. Attempting to mask her surprise, she nodded her head up and down with approval as she cracked her knuckles in a disgusting habit. “Ahh. Say no more.” she urged confidently, glad he said Chopin because she memorized a handful of his works. He was one of her favorite composers of all time. She scooted ever so slightly on the long piano bench so if he could sit if he wished.
That bloody charcoal was bothering her now though. Lulu had always been the type to tell someone if they had food in their teeth, so this wasn't much different.
Before she could start, she stopped, a small smile broke as her eyes caught the charcoal again. She slowly raised her hand to gesture, ”You have a smudge of charcoal on your lip.” she informed him, unable to hold back a chuckle as her smile grew. Lulu would have reached to wipe it herself if it wasn't Nate, though the urge was certainly there. Nathaniel Forrester was similar to playing with fire. There was always the chance of getting burned when he was around. Maybe that was half of the fun.

LULU WAS NOTHING LIKE HER STIFF COUSIN, much to Nate's relief. She was a little sly and overly flirtatious. Even when she was scowling at him, he thought she was looking at him funny. As if she wouldn't mind a repeat of that spiteful night on Jameson Blishwick's single bed. Nate thought he wouldn't have minded a repeat either, watching the way her lips formed words at a distance, without properly listening. "So?" He shrugged after a beat, his eyes flickering up to her narrowed eyes.
Once he'd crossed the room, Nate ran an errant hand across the sleek, polished surface of the piano. He wondered how long Lulu had played, if it was an aristocratic necessity to be classically trained. The thought made him want to snort with derision, but he was really fitfully jealous. Nate had never been musically gifted, which in his eyes meant he of course was not aristocratic - and how else would he garner the respect of the wealthy? Make friends in high places, he supposed.
Lulu's hands danced across the keys without touching, and Nate looked at the gap Lulu made on the bench for a moment before he moved. He slid in to the small space, half on - half off, and shifted so that they were touching from shoulder to calf. He felt a thrill of anticipation, letting his sketchbook rest beside the leg of the bench as he waited with restless impatience. When Lulu failed to start, he turned his head sharply, "What- do you not know Chopin?" He snapped meanly, but when he turned Lulu was looking at his mouth. He stilled, the frown clearing from his face, but she didn't do as he expected - kiss him - she spoke instead.
"What?" Embarrassment flared like anger prickling the back of his neck. A hand reaching up to palm at his cheek, but stopped short when he realised every fingertip on his left hand was marred with charcoal, and the right had a grey streak along the side of his palm, where he'd been unfortunately leaning. He was embarrassed for just a moment longer, before his stare flared back to Lulu and every muscle in his shoulders coiled with anticipation. "If it bothers you so much, get it off for me yourself." He told her sharply, his brows lifting to punctuate the challenge.

Nate sat down next to her on the bench. Every fiber inside her body was standing at full attention as she felt the side of his body against hers. A burst of adrenaline burst through her core as her heart beat against her chest. She wasn't expecting that. Hell, the thrill ignited something inside of her.
As he told her to get the charcoal off for him, the look he gave her with the lifted brows and sharp tone seemed like a challenge. Lulu loved a challenge, especially from Nate. She turned her body toward him, which she instantly regretted because the reality hit her that she was facing Nate Forrester. The purple haired snake feigned nonchalance as she gave him a brave look, raising her eye brows back at him and breaking into a smile. ”Okaay.” she agreed, a devilish twinkle in her eyes. Lulu lifted a hand to wipe the smudge off with the pad of her thumb on this bottom lip. It didn’t budge.
Lulu knew she shouldn’t have done what she wanted to do next. But being the opportunist she was, she wasn’t thinking about that. She knew that she should have been angry at Nate for telling her cousin Jimmie about their sexcapade in her bedroom. But a part of her expected him to do something like that because he was a demon to society. She wasn't mad at him because she blamed it on him, and being drunk, when interrogated about it. Well, two could play that game.
The purple haired snake reached with her second hand so she could cup his face. She kissed him. Hard. It all happened so fast she barely had time to process what she was doing or stop herself. She pulled away after a couple of moments, trapping his bottom lip in her teeth. "It's off now." she mused with a chuckle. She hoped to Merlin the charcoal hadn’t merely transferred to her mouth.
Reality sank in. Her fingers quickly found the keys after she pulled away and she tried her best to play it off cool, but she wished she hadn't broken it so fast. The sudden lack of intimacy welled inside her, blurring all thoughts as she could feel and taste him on her lips still. ”Pfft. I know Chopin.” she tutted air out with an eye roll, boiling over with a slightly nervous laugh. At that, she shakily started Nocturne in E Flat Major (Op. 9 No. 2) suddenly feeling the notes blurry in her head as she was hyper aware of the side of Nate's body pressed against hers.

NATE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING WHEN HE HAD asked Lulu to fix it for him. They'd played a similar game before, just with higher stakes. That had been a mixture of petty revenge and attraction, like killing two birds with one stone. He'd relished telling Jimmie that. The way her scrunched face had gone almost purple with rage. He'd thought she'd hex him in to next week. Though he'd known it was throwing Lulu under the bus at the time, it hadn't really mattered. And luckily, Lulu was just careless and flighty enough that she hadn't held it against him. The teasing was a test, dipping his toe in to familiar - but potentially hostile - waters.
There wasn't even a hint of conflict in Lulu's easy posture, as far as Nate could see. She'd just thought about and then agreed. He felt a fizzle of excitement knot his stomach, his face purposefully flat as she rubbed it with her finger and then thought about it some more. When her lips met his, he lifted a hand to cup her neck, his thumb pressed firm into the hard jut of her jaw. It was a punishing kiss, drawing a sharp breath from Nate as their teeth gnashed before falling in to it. His body leaning forward, fingers tangling in her hair. It was lip biting and bruising, and over far too soon.
Nate sat still for a moment as he watched her retreat. His mouth open just a little, chest tight with breath. Lulu was surprising in more ways than one, she gave him a run for his money. But, he liked it, his tongue dashing out over his stinging bottom lip as he let her win that particular, unspoken argument. "You're very thorough," He commented with an uptick of his brows, shifting in his seat as he shook his head at her with a huff of impressed laughter. She'd met his bluff and then some. And then, she began to play and Nate felt it in time with every beat of his heart.
It was a slow and melancholic start, almost tentative in its arrangement. Nate thought maybe he'd heard it played on an old gramophone somewhere in the orphanage. All classical music made Nate think of money and prestige - only the rich played piano. He watched Lulu's hands on the keys and was starkly reminded of her business mogul uncle, and her insufferably snobbish cousin. And then he thought, rather sordidly, that she didn't kiss like a rich girl did. He leaned into her side briefly and, just as the arrangement ended, he lifted a flat palm and ruined the whole thing by clanging it against the keys.

Lulu thoroughly enjoyed the kiss, finding herself breathless after a couple of moments. Her chest heaved with excitement and passion, kicking herself for pulling away prematurely. After dealing with the repercussions of Nate narking on the both of them, he had the nerve to still be, well, Nate. Lulu hated to admit it but she enjoyed his company, even when he was trying to be a pest. He always had a way of keeping her on her toes. Nathaniel Forrester was a lot like fire, not only was he the smoking hot, conflicted, seventh year...there was something about him. Lulu knew that playing with him could get her hurt, but she wanted to decode the mystery man.
As she finished the song she could still feel Nate on her lips. The final notes echoing through the high ceilings of the music room and she smiled satisfied. Until Nate mashed the keys. Lulu shook her head at him with a chuckle and an eye roll. The purple haired snake took in a breath as she looked at his lips for a drawn out moment, almost pretending she just may jump into that lovely kiss once more..
Not.
Luna mashed the keys of the piano, hard, before turning to Nate so their sides were pressing completely, "Sooo-Why'd you tell Jimmie we had a lil shag on her bed?" she sang to him in a pretty little harmony. Her icy saucer narrowed on him, "Tryin' to get my knickers in a bunch, or are ya just lookin' for a laugh?" she asked in her normal voice, furrowing her eyebrows at him as she puffed strands of hair out of her face. Lulu wasn't angry at him, and her demeanor showed that, she just wanted to make sure he didn't think she was stupid enough to forget about it. If he was merely trying to piss off Jimmie, well, she'd be completely okay with that.
Truthfully, Lulu would have much rather have Nate pin her against the piano in a very aggressive display, which would be traumatizing for any students who used the music room.

THERE WAS SOMETHING HYPNOTIC AND EQUALLY irritating about how talented Lulu was at piano, as good as, if not more so than she was at kissing. His tongue poking his cheek cheek, fingers pressing harshly down on the keys as he marred the aftermath with a cacophony of noise. Anything to break that knot of jealous admiration from his stomach. It bothered him that, for some strange reason, he liked Lulu more because she was talented. He hadn't wanted to like her at all. If anything, Nate would rather distract them both by kissing her some more.
Leaning in to her side, their faces dangerously close. For just a moment, she seemed to lean in to him, and then the air broke with another key smash. Nate froze, his lips parting in a slow, even smirk as he shut his eyes and shook his head. Lulu wasn't done playing, apparently, and not with the piano. Her head turned and Nate leaned back, watching her mouth open as she sang a pretty little tune, the lyrics not half as pleasing. He snorted, rolling his eyes at the theatrics of it as he rocked so-so, as if he were thinking about his answer.
"It wasn't personal," He replied in the aftermath, leaving it a beat as she reverted back to her speaking voice and waited for him - not angrily, just curiously. "Wasn't about you at all..." His eyes shifted to Lulu in the peripheral, an errant hand coming up to press down on the same key at the pace of a lazy beating heart. "Your cousin is a stuck up bitch," He let the insult roll off his tongue, as if he were reciting the Quidditch stats from the prophet. "I knew something that would bother her... it worked." He shrugged one shoulder, moving a second finger to the neighbouring key and pressing both as he cast a cautionary look at Lulu's face in his peripheral.
"If I'd have had something else, something without you in it, I might've used that instead." It was as close as Nate could come to sorry. His face was thoughtful, his body leaning over the piano so he could lean a whole forearm against the keys, letting out a slow, steady mish-mash of pure noise - nothing like the classical piece Lulu had played for him before. It was just something to break the tension of what he had done. He'd known it was cruel when he'd done it, but Nate didn't regret very many of his poor decisions - even when they hurt someone perfectly innocent in the making. 'Collateral damage', he thought, but didn't say.

Lulu was taken aback slightly by Nate’s tone. There was no hostility and it truly seemed like an honest answer. The purple haired snake shrugged to feign nonchalance, quite appreciating the small jingle in his voice as he tapped the key and announced that Jimmie was an uptight bitch. He wasn't wrong there. Nodding in confirmation, ”Aye, she is a bit of a frigid bitch indeed.” she agreed fervently. There was no questioning that.
A laugh slipped passed her lips as she aimlessly improvised a lazy melody across the keys. She wasn't angry in the slightest, she actually appreciated Nate for being honest, she didn't expect an apology. The purple haired snake turned her body to face Nate, ”Shagging on someones bed and diddlin' around in their personal space would piss off most people, but I must say, I admire your strong motive to fuck up Jimmie’s day.” she told him slowly, still feigning nonchalance, but Nate still made her a bit nervous. She wasn't sure why she liked that nervous, on-edge feeling around him, he was unpredictable. Maybe it was the way his side was pressed up against hers on the piano bench, making her hyper aware of his presence, or the way his arm ungracefully mashed the keys sending a nightmare sound to bounce off the echoey walls. She was quiet as she marinated in the horrible sound, the tension growing in her stomach as the desire snog his face off intensified.
Shrugging lazily, she attempted to meet Nates gaze as she tried to play it off cool as a cucumber. ”Well. When interrogated about the situation, I threw you under the bus anyways-so..” Lulu ended with a smug smile, eyebrows waggling deviously, in a way to say they were ‘even’. Though she remembered vividly, despite her drunken blur at the time, how pissed her Mum was when she noticed the hickies on her neck and collarbone as she tried to evacuate the party in a sketchy fashion.

FRIGID WAS ONE WAY TO DESCRIBE JIMMIE Blishwick. It was maybe the kinder of options, as far as Nate was concerned. He'd never found her as anything more than a minor annoyance, not until he'd been forced to room in her father's lavish penthouse for a summer. Sharing that kind of space with the kind of person Jimmie was, well it was very nearly intolerable. He got her back the only way he knew how, with bitter spite. The fact that she'd come to some kind of mutual agreement with Nessa only soured her all the more in Nate's eyes.
Watching the way Lulu's fine boned fingers found the correct, melodious keys instinctively, Nate couldn't help his sharp snicker. "One of my better schemes, I reckon." Nate nodded, entirely unapologetic. Just as he had been when Jimmie had confronted him viciously. She would never forgive, not forget Nate. And that was just mean enough to be worth a laugh. Jimmie thought she was better than Nate, so he gave her a proper reason to think so. He'd heard she'd gotten rid of the entire bed, but that had come second hand. "You're welcome," He replied smugly.
Nate already figured Lulu had blamed him to get out of the heat. Jimmie was just embarrassed enough never to tell her rich daddy, so really it was more of a private battle to fight. He hadn't minded, he'd liked that she hated him for it. It made the revenge all the sweeter. "Coward," He teased her, leaning in just a little too close as he looked down his nose at her, hand coming up to cover her fingers where they played on the keys. "Feel a bit used," He added, lips curling up slightly.

Lulu hadn't spoken to Jimmie about the sexcapade in her bedroom since it had occurred. Maybe there was a part of Lulu deep down inside that hoped she'd forget. The purple haired snake knew that was highly unlikely. Her cousin had a memory like a bloody elephant, she held grudges and wasn't the type to forgive and forget. It was worth it though, she loved to piss off Jimmie.
As her fingers moved across the ivory keys in a peaceful melody, Nate called her a coward, leaning closer into her personal space. She was aware of the side of his body pressed against hers and his smell, she wasn't sure if it was cologne or what, but it was truly the essence of Nate. Her fingers danced across the keys until Nate's palm trapped both of her hands, mashing the keys ungracefully under her hands. It was a bit unexpected, causing her body to involuntarily tense up mid movement. But...that was also so undeniably hot, sending a prickle of excitement deep within her core.
Her icy blue saucers dared to match his gaze, batting through her lashes as she realized she was holding her breath. Nate told her he was feeling used, which caused her expression to flicker, quirking a brow toward him. She allowed her hands to stay trapped by his large palms, not moving a muscle. “Aw, Nathaniel Forrester feeling...feelings…?” she asked slowly, her tone laced with disbelief as if she made some grand discovery. Obviously, he didn’t mean it; she could tell by the way his lips curled upwards.
“What are you going to do about it?” She challenged him in a sultry tone, watching him closely as she looked him a look up and down before offering him a curious smile.
