Right before the Quidditch Game. Almost Christmas break. At least that's what everyone else would call tonight, but not Ginny. Ginny was surrounded by family and friends, loved ones who she had just fought beside in the war at Hogwarts. The year was 1998. Harry had just kissed her and disappeared with Ron and Hermione. Ginny sat with her mother and her remaining family members. They cried for Fred, they laughed for victory, they sat in silence. After who knows how long, people finally started to leave the school. Taking their families home in order to rebuild the Wizarding World as a peaceful place, but not before taking a well needed break. But before Ginny and her family left, Ginny blacked out. Now, still semi-unconscious, she could tell that she was in Saint Mungos. Had she been injured badly and it didn't start reacting until now? That was possible, but she had felt fine the last moment she remembered. Was Harry okay? Of course he was, he had just left with Ron and Hermione for some much needed trio time. She understood that. But wait, was that Harry holding her hand now? No, the hands were adult hands, larger and more callous from years of work. Maybe it was her father. Yes, that had to be it. She tightened her grip on the hand in hers as she tried to blink her eyes open. The first person she saw, or thought she saw with her fuzzy vision, was Harry. But he wasn't wearing glasses. And wait... there was another boy next to him who also looked like Harry. She shook her head and blinked two or three times. Who was that girl with the firey red hair? Ginny didn't recognize her at all but she could have been her sister, the way she looked. She finally opened her eyes all the way and turned to face who she thought was her father, holding her hand. When she saw a grown man who was not her father, she yanked her hand out of his. But, that was also when she saw the lightning scar on the mans forehead. Her eyes widened and her hands started to shake. Where was she? {So, I'm not sure what to do about posting order. I say we just post when we can since it's such a large group. @hermione lily luna potter @crystal7 Albus Severus Potter @james @ron @teddy}

He felt mad. Beyond mad. How dare he?! How dare he attack her?! What gave him the right to do this to his wife?! To family?! Ohh if he got his hands on that man he was going to STRANGLE him! Not to mention Roderick. He was definitely someone who he was going to have to watch out for. Harry couldn't be sure if he was in on this or if he was being controlled by an outside force...but that man had definitely earned two very close eyes or ire and suspicion thanks to his involvment. He felt guilty. Why had he not been there sooner?! He could have been able to stop him?! Why had it taken him so long?! He felt sad. Sad for his kids. She didn't remember them. She wasn't going to treat them the same way until they figured out what was going on. It was likely that she wasn't going to think that he was who he really was either. In her head--it was 1998. So much that she couldn't tap into--that she couldn't recall... It was a mess. A total mess. A mess he was beating himself up over. He could have stopped it--that small voice in the back of his head kept saying. But he shook those thoughts from his head. No! He refused to give in to that doubt. He had important things to worry about right now. Much more important things. Family things. And that meant a lot more then his self pity and doubt. He stayed by her side as he carried her into St. Mungo's. He refused to leave her side as the healers worked on her physical injuries. He held her hand as she laid there--peaceful looking but he knew that everything was as far from that as possible. Hermione and Ron were supposed to show up eventually. As well as Teddy and James, Lily, and Albus. He had sent out patronus messengers to Ron, Hermione, Teddy and Neville--telling them what was going on and asking Neville to get his kids together and let them know what had gone on. They should all be here any moment now. For now though it was just him and her. He was just sitting by her and holding her hand and waiting for her to come to. All the while he was trying to sort through the myriad of emotions going through his head and knowing that his wife was not going to remember him in the same light was not helping him needless to say. Vaguely he heard the others appear and show but his mind was not totally on its game right now. He wasn't entirely sure what that spell did to Ginny and now he had to figure that out, figure out how to fix it, fix it, clobber the fool who thought they could attack his family and get away with it, make sure Ginny was going to be all right, make sure the kids were going to be okay and that not even including his job. Things got way more stressful then they needed to be. Damn that guy! A soft groan. His ears pricked. She was beginning to come to. She immediately yanked her hand out of his and was looking around--eyes wide and look bewildered--she wasn't sure where she was...or what had gone on probably. She was shaking and all Harry could do was comfort her right now. "Shh its okay Ginny. Its going to be all right." it was all he could say right now. What else could he say? It had been just an ordinary day for Ronald Weasley or so he had thought up until a few minutes ago. The day was about to turn into a not so ordinary day in about .five seconds when he would receive an owl from St. Mungos. The owl that would put a fear in his gut, and make him run to the nearest portal that he could find. The paper work for the Auror department being far from him mind as he grabbed his jacket and started speed walking toward the nearest portal that he could find. He didn’t bother telling people where he was going because his baby sister had just been admitted into St. Mungos. The hospital had not even given much detail, but he didn’t need any more details, the concern already running rampage throughout his body. It only took him a few moments to find himself a few meters outside of St. Mungos, and again a speed was added to his step as he started rushing into the hospital. His eyes were darting every which way as he couldn’t remember where the owl told him to go. Ron’s face was bright red a look of worry, and anger etched out onto his face. What had happened to his sister? Had he read the owl correctly? Could it really be his sister in the emergency room...but, he knew that there was no way they’d make the mistake, it wasn’t every day a ginger haired girl entered into the ward. It also was known that Ginny Potter was a famous name for all Wizards, he knew there was no mistake. “Someone help me!” he sputtered out, as he got a few people staring at him with concerned looks. It seemed one of the Nurses thought it was him in pain, him that needed fixing, because one of them kept asking him to sit down, and say what’s wrong with him. Ron shook his head, were they daft? Did they not know who he was? Did they not know his sister was just admitted here! It may have been a self-centered thought as he sometimes just assumed everyone knew who he was because of the battle after all, but this was far from the truth, he was a lot older now. “No!” he shouted, catching his breath. “My sister! My sister Ginny Weasley was just admitted here! I mean...Ginny Potter. Ginny Potter!” he gasped out, and the nurse suddenly looked like all her questions had been answered, and she was quick to lead him in the right direction. Ronald let out a grunted, “Thank you,” quick on his heels turning into the room Ginny was in. “Harry!” he exclaimed coming up behind his best mate, “What happened!? Who did this!? Is she going to be okay!?” the questions flying from his lips, as his eyes averted to his sister, a frown etching onto his face, his years being very obvious within his looks in these moments. “Did you let Hermione know?” he asked, his wife coming as an afterthought, remembering he hadn’t sent out a letter to her or anything, because he’d been too worried, and in a complete rush upon finding out Ginny was in the hospital. Nearly the entire time the Potter children were on their way to St. Mungo's, James was a statue. He couldn't believe what was happening. First Kinglsey then those two muggleborns... now his mother? Fortunately enough she had been able to escape with her life, but even that was too much of a shock for young James Sirius Potter. When Neville had woken him up, James couldn't believe him at first. It took several more minutes of Neville repeating to him what had happened for James to be able to slowly lift himself out of bed. He wanted to cry when he saw Lily and Albus but he knew he couldn't. Not yet.
When they had finally reached the hospital by Portkey, James had ran over to his mother's bedside immediately - standing right next to his father. Uncle Ron had entered and James had not even registered that he was without Aunt Hermione. All James could do was look at his mother, his bottom lip trembling slightly. How could someone do this to them? To her? Ha, James knew why. It was because they were Potters. James was proud to wear that last name and the names of two great wizards but... he had always known it would come with a price. He supposed this was it. Or just the beginning.
James didn't take his eyes off of his mother for what seemed like forever. He couldn't bear to. He had not realized that Albus was still in the doorway or that Lily had not even spoken yet. He was focused on his mum. Then, as if just in time for them to arrive, his mother began to blink her eyes open. James's mouth fell open slightly in awe, a single tear rolling down his cheek as he thanked Merlin that she was alright. James, having been so focused on what was wrong with his mother and worrying, had not heard anything about exactly what had happened to her. So as she came to, James said "Mum, it's us. Everything is going to be - " but he stopped immediately as his mother tore her hand away from his father's. His brow furrowed, his mouth fell open again in shock. How did she not know who her husband was? Why did she look so afraid of them?
James's head snapped up to look at his father, his eyes threatening to tear up but he was urging himself not to. "What's wrong with her!? He demanded, his voice cracking.

"Shh its okay Ginny. Its going to be all right." The voice didn't sound like Harrys, and yet it did at the same time. This was when she realized that something terrible must have happened to her There was no doubt in her mind now that this was Harry Potter sitting next to her, but for some reason he had aged what... twenty years!? Unless... no. There was no way that this was the future. At Harrys words she reached her hand back to him, clasping his hand tightly in hers.
She didn't say anything for a moment, for one of the young boys was asking Harry what was wrong with her, which meant herself, she guessed. Why did this random boy even care? Did she know him? Still, when his voice seemed on the verge of breaking, she felt a sharp pain in her heart. She wanted to comfort him, she could barely stand the thought of this stranger boy crying. Now that was a new sensation, feeling such deep sympathy for complete strangers.
Ginny jumped a little as the grown red-haired man burst into the room. “Harry! What happened!? Who did this!? Is she going to be okay!?” Ginny cringed away from the man as he talked, but even his voice was familiar. Soon the two of them were making eye contact. Wait... now he was mentioning Hermione? How did this guy know Hermione and why did he look so much like her brother Ro- A hand lifted to her mouth as she took a sharp breath in. Harry was older. Ron was older. There were strange children around who looked like Harry and like herself...
No, no, no, no, no. She started to shake her head frantically and tightened her grip on Harrys hand, shaking more than ever. "H-Harry?" she said slowly, making eye contact with the man who had the same eyes, voice and feeling as Harry Potter. She then turned to glance at the boy leaning in the doorway. "Who's that?" she tore her eyes away from the boy and looked up at the redhead, "Ron?" her voice cracked with emotion now.

leaning his shoulder against the frame of the door to the hospital albus watched the scene unfolding before him. he'd never been good at sitting by a bedside. never been good at sitting around and waiting for news and this was no different. he watched his father gripping onto his mother's hand as she lay on the white bed and james occupied the space next to him so he figured he'd stay back for the moment. glancing up he shifted his shoulder as his uncle burst past him into the room qnd demanded to know what had happened. albus wanted to know too, who could hurt his mother? sure it was horrible but he'd understand a lot more if someone went after his father. he after all was the reason the family was famous, had done so much in his teenage years and now he was an auror he'd put a lot of people in azkaban. so going after his father made a lot more sense if one thought about it logically. there wasn't any logic in this though as far as albus could see. just the worry and terror on his family's faces as they all watched ginny.
then she started to wake up, and the story was starting to unfold a little more. keeping his shoulder on the frame of the door he shifted his head a little to try and see his mom and watched as her hand pulled from his fathers and the look of confusion on her face was enough. she didn't remember them. well she knew who her husband and brother were but the lack of acknowledgement when she looked at james showed it all. was it a temporary thing? from her having woken up after beinf attacked and her memory would come back in a moment? or was it going to be a more permanent solution. one didn't know. hearing her ask who james was made him feel a little for his brother, but how could he not understand? she didn't remember them. it wasn't hard to work out. and it did hurt, of course it did. how could a mother forget her own children? it was something that shouldn't happen. it went against nature. he stepped forward into the room and shook his head a little at his older brother. "isn't it obvious, james? he said, a frown forming on his face as he glanced toward his mother, wondering what was going to happen now.

Teddy had been sitting at the Hog's Head, trying to write when an owl had swooped into an open window and dropped a rolled up parchment in front of him. The grouchy bartender had muttered something about "ruddy owls" and Teddy watched, confused as the owl flew back out the window. He reached for the parchment and unrolled it, his eyes reading over it at once. They widened when he realized what exactly the parchment was saying and then with a loud CRACK Teddy had disapparated and had appeared on a random street in London.
The metamorphmagi knew where St. Mungo's was. He had visited there several times for all of the many different family members many different times; for injuries for births, the list was endless. He ran along the bustling sidewalks past muggles until he stopped just in front of the glass to an old and shabby looking department store. His hands pressed up against the glass. "Ginny Potter! I'm here for Ginny Potter!" He panted. The mannequin jabbed her finger to the right and then Teddy stepped through the glass like it was water. Once in the lobby, he looked around frantically. He had followed the direction that were in the letter, running along the hallways and dodging healers and patients until he came to the correct room.
Teddy stopped just outside of the door, and he saw Albus taking a step into the room. He could see Harry and James in front of him, around Ginny laying on the bed and looking terrified at something. Quietly, and with his mouth open slightly in shock, Teddy stepped into the room beside Albus. "Wh-what happened?" He asked quietly, looking from Ginny and James to Harry. This couldn't be happening. Not to his family. Not again.

Ginny looked over at the younger boy when he called the other boy James. James? And he had called her mum? If she had married Harry Potter, she wouldn't be surprised that he wanted to call their son James. Son. The thought made her dizzy. Another young man ran in the room, though this one didn't look anything like Harry. Still, she had no idea who he was! She was starting to get rather frustrated now and she pushed herself to a sitting up position.
"Okay, am I to understand that I am a grown woman and these are my children!?" she said, her voice raising a little. A bit of an insane laughter was bubbling up in her throat, but she didn't follow through with it. No, all she could do right now was wait for Harry, or who she thought was Harry, to give her some kind of explanation as to what all of this was.
She wanted to look into a mirror too, but was rather horrified at the thought. Her hands weren't her own, even her voice wasn't. She knew that she was older, there was no other explanation for the way her entire body was feeling. Well, she had just fought in the battle at Hogwarts... wait, no, no she hadn't.

His mind was in a total whirl. You think he would have been used to it by now--all of those things that had happened to him in his lifetime that to say were unexpected would have been a vast understatement. The thing of it was---well a small part of him thought he was done with all of this. Done with all of the darkness. You would think that he would have had enough of that to last a lifetime already. But no--the dark forces weren't done with him yet. They would never be done with him he feared. Or his family. His own name painted a target onto all of their backs. Which was perhaps the hardest thing of all to deal with, It wasn't his fault that he had that name but it was what it was. And they were all capable of taking care of themselves. Ginny more then proved that and he made sure that his kids could handle themselves too. There were enemies out there--a lot of them--who would love to take them all out. There were some people who wouldn't like them just based on their name--it was a sad thing that such judgmental behavior happened but it happened and they all had to be prepared for it. But sometimes that wasn't enough. And no matter how much they prepared---these things still happened. And they still had to deal with it and make it better and fix it. His sons came in first--James concerned and wondering what was going on and what was wrong (of course) followed by Albus. Albus' semi sarcastic response to his brother made Harry frown as he turned to face both of his sons, "Albus this is not the time to be sarcastic." he said simply yet with a stern look on his face. It was then Teddy appeared and it seemed as if no one else was going to show up and well now was the time to explain what was going on. Everyone wanted to know what was going on---who was who--what was wrong --- and while Harry himself wasn't even sure of that himself---they were owed answers---all of them, "Yes Ginny -- that is exactly right. You were attacked--you and a healer from St. Mungos as well. They took your memories. Every memory since before the last battle of Hogwarts. These are your sons and Teddy is our godson." he said simply answering both questions that had been asked of him several times. It was all very aggravating and frustrating. But he stayed calm--or at least on the outside. He had to stay calm--for them--for her---for everyone. But on the inside he was anything but. Oh how could this have happened?! Lily had been rushed out of school for...well she wasn't entirely sure what the reason was. All she knew was that they had been taken to St Mungo's, and nothing good ever came from there. She wasn't sure who was going to be there or what to expect, only that it was urgent.
As they arrived, they were taken straight to their mothers room and told that everything was going to be okay. Yeah, sure, she'd heard that one before. People always tried to make you see something before you could actually see it. Did they really think that three children dragged from school to St Mungo's to visit their mother with no explanation was actually ever going to be okay? She scoffed lightly the second time the nurse repeated the line...people really were amazing.
Holding back slightly Lily let James and Albus go ahead. They were older and probably better equipped to deal with whatever was waiting for them in that hospital room. Hovering in the hall way, she remained silent and watched the events unfold as everyone demanded an explanation.
"Mum?" was all Lily could say. Watching as her mother glanced around frantically at all the faces she didn't recognise. Had her memories been wiped to such an extent that she didn't remember any of them? Lily let out a small tear as she hugged her arm, still stood in the hallway feeling very much alone. She'd not been prepared for this..."please don't forget us" she whispered, her voice small and sad. Looking around the hospital, Lily felt the sudden urge to run, run away from all this. Why was this all happening? What did it all mean?

James looked up at Albus when he stepped forward but the words that came out of his mouth earned him a nasty glare from James. James couldn't help but fight back the small feeling of tears though. This was his mother, his family. Why did this have to happen to them? Why now? Had this year not already been enough of a whirlwind? Did the universe really have to make it harder on him? When Teddy entered, James stopped glaring at Albus and he nodded at Teddy as a hello before looking back at his mother who was now sitting up in her hospital bed, looking quite frantic.
James had not yet heard the specifics of how his mother had ended up in here so when his father recounted the incident to his mum, James eyes widened as he watched his dad. Was the person who attacked his mum connected to the person who had been attacking students? James felt an anger rising up inside of him as he looked away from both of his parents, unable to face them right now.
That was when James saw Lily hesitating behind them in the hallway. James frowned and felt an overwhelming sadness about the whole situation and seeing Lily sad was enough to make James go into over protective brother mode but considering the circumstances, it just made him more sad. James glanced at his parents before stepping away and into the hallway just outside the door. When he stood about a foot in front of his younger sister, he pulled her into a hug. They all had to be feeling the same right about now and they had to stick together to get through this. James forced a smile as he pulled away from Lily and nodded back at their mum, motioning for Lily to follow him back in to stand beside Ginny's bedside. He offered up his hand for his sister to hold along the way.

"i happen to think it's the perfect time" he let the words slip from his mouth before he could really stop them. not that he wanted too. he returned james' glare with a scathing one of his own, his green eyes narrowing as he did glare at his older brother. it was how albus dealt with things, he lathered his worry in a show of sarcasm and a curtain of appearing to not care but on the inside he was torn up about this. hearing his mother admit that she didn't know who they were while she was looking right at them, had been one of the worst feelings albus had ever felt. "she doesn't remember her own family. it's simple" he said, dropping his hands from having them folded over his chest and he ran his hand through his hair, stepping into the room more as teddy walked in behind him and he walked over to the window. looking out of it for a moment he turned back to them, leaning his back against the window sill, folded his arms again and he watched james and lily. he was glad that someone there could comfort lily, if he tried it would seem weird. he turned his attention to his mother and his father again, hearing his father explain what had happened to her. his fists clenched while tucked against his body. it wasn't often that albus let his temper get the best of him but he could feel it bubbling up as he listened watched and reacted to how upset his family was getting. he didn't like things hurting them, he just didn't.

Of all people, Ginny Potter was one of the stronger people that Teddy Lupin knew. She was not a force to be reckoned with and Teddy knew it had to have been one hell of a fight before it came down to this. Teddy couldn't help but watch Ginny with a sad look in his eyes as she looked around hysterically at all of them. She didn't know who they were.
Teddy could not imagine losing all of the memories of your kids, your marriage... all she could remember was the devastation of the war. What she must be feeling... Teddy couldn't imagine. He perked up however as Harry began to reassure her. Surely what she needed right now was confidence and reassurance that everything was going to be okay. When Harry told her who the others in the room were, Teddy gave a small wave and a smile at her when Harry mentioned he was their godson. It was then that Teddy saw James move from the corner of his eye. Teddy turned to see where he had went, not wanting him to leave at a time like this and then he saw Lily. She was standing in the doorway looking sad and Teddy instantly felt worse for the Potters. Lily, Ginny's near spitting image, was hurt. Of course this was enough to make Teddy want to cry himself but James had already assumed the position as older brother as he led her into the room.
Teddy watched Albus as he watched Lily and James. Growing up with this family, a family he considered his own, he knew how each of them reacted to certain situations. Albus, he knew, had to be feeling terrible of course but he was standing off to the side. He must have been feeling far away from them. Teddy took it upon himself to walk over to Albus by the window. He stopped next to him and watched the others with him, placing his hand consolingly on his shoulder without a word.

Albus.
So, the boys name was Albus, the boy who looked so much like Harry. Well, one of them. She felt horrible, not knowing their names. Her stomach was in knots at the idea of having three children and having no idea who they were.
As Albus protested Harrys words, Ginny felt her lip tug up a tiny bit. The slight smile quickly vanished as she saw the way her sons were glaring at each other across the room, bus he didn’t say anything. She didn’t feel like she had the right... even though she completely did.
She looked at Harry as he started to explain what happened. He was right, of course, the last thing she remembered was fighting in the battle and then waking up here. She felt her hands starting to shake, the panic trying to take over again. But no, she had to hold her ground. She had to be the strong one. For Harry, and the kids.
At the mention of Teddy, she looked over at him with wide eyes. ”Teddy Lupin?” she felt her eyes start to mist as she looked him up and down, ”he’s practically grown, how old are you? All of you?” she asked, her eyes scanning the room once more. That was when her eyes fell on the other boy hugging someone. A young red haired girl.
She felt like her heart snapped in half as the sweet voice pleased not to be forgotten, and the other son started to lead her into the room. In that same instant, Teddy made his way to Albus’s side, and Ginny felt a comfort in that.
She sat up, determined not to look like some wounded deer at this moment. She swung her legs over the side of the bed and reached over to Harry, clasping his hand in hers. ”Well, I think I need to be properly introduced,” it felt strange, holding an older, more calloused version of Harrys hand, but it was his, and that was something familiar.
She looked up at her children in the doorway and entering the room, ”come here,” he asked, her voice incredibly soft as she made eye contact with the girl in particular.
