Ava's grandparents had called a healer, and Ava was terrified. A few days before Ava had had a run in with a scared magical creature. It hadn't hurt her intentionally, but unfortunately it'd been the sort that could cause magical injuries that required a healer's care. Her grandparents were the sort to not really care if she was ever injured, just assuming that the girl would eventually get better. Not this time though, and due to the magical nature of the injury would only get worse without treatment. Even more unfortunate (according to her grandparents) was that neither of her grandparents were skilled enough to heal it themselves. So, they'd taken some drastic efforts. Obviously her grandparents hadn't called for a healer on Hy-Brasil, as they much preferred to keep her hidden. Instead they'd heard about a druid healer that worked at the magical hospital in London. Someone from a different druid community. So, they'd arranged for this healer to come instead. It wasn't his specialty, but apparently his druid heritage was more important to her grandparents then his skill working with creature induced injuries.
When Ava had heard of this plan she, to no surprise, panicked. It was why her grandparents hadn't actually told her he was coming until he was literal minutes away. They'd also locked the door to her room so that she would be confined inside (as she would run given an option). It was safer to just keep her there until the healer arrived. Unfortunately they'd underestimated her escaping skills. The room only has a small window, high up on the wall. High enough they'd never considered it a viable escape route, especially considering the limp in her left leg from the injury. And yet, somehow she'd managed to get up to it and was out the window without her grandparents notice. She winced as she hit the ground, collapsing to her knees and holding back a whimper as shooting pain shot up her injured leg. That was when she heard voices. Her grandfather greeting the healer in Brasilic, thanking him for coming on such short notice. A moment later and there was a frustrated interjection from her grandmother, stating that Ava wasn't in her room. Another moment and her grandmother rounded the corner, a tall redhaired man behind her. Ava looked like a deer that had been caught by a hunter. "Ava! What on earth are you doing?!" Her grandmother's angry words made the girl flinch and she looked like she was on the verge of crying (and not from the pain). "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Please, I don't need a healer," she pleaded as she tried to stumble to her feet, though her injured leg didn't want to support her weight, so all she could really do was try to start scooting away. "Please, I... I'll get better without him. I promise." It wasn't the necessarily a healer she was against. It was the presence of a stranger. A stranger that wanted to get close to her.

It had been years since Petri had set foot on Hy-Brasil, and that was a massive regret of his. He hadn't seen Aidan in years, another of his cousins. He also hadn't spoken to Fae in months, though they had once been close. His invitation to his cousin, Eeva's house had spurred in him a desire to reconnect with the Hy-Brasilic side of his family, to spend more time on the island despite living and working in close proximity to muggles. The first chance Petri got was when he was summoned to the island by a pair of older druids, to help heal an animal wound on their granddaughter.
Petri apparated to the spot that they had indicated, and he heard a tiny, pleading voice begging not to be seen. To not involve him. It confused Petri - he had never worked with patients who didn't want to be healed. He wondered if she would prove difficult, perhaps even worsening her wounds. Petri hoped that the girls grandparents would be able to calm her down enough to keep her from hurting herself more, but there was nothing he could do out here. His confidence wavering, Petri stepped up to the door and knocked twice. There was a rustle of movement from within, and the grandfather opened the door to him. Petri nodded in greeting, and peered around the man's form to the interior. But the girl wasn't where they had expected her to be.
The grandmother strode around the corner of their home, with Petri just a few paces behind her. He hung back at the terror in the girls eyes, and frowned. "I am Petri," said Petri in Brasilic. "You don't want to see me, but maybe I can help heal. Faster, so you don't need to be locked in your room for too long," said Petri slowly, his sleepy green eyes appraising the young girl. She didn't seem to have entered adulthood yet, which explained why her grandparents were looking after her. "Can I please take a look at your leg?" asked Petri, his gaze meeting the childs.

It wasn't the healers fault that Ava was acting the way she was. She was a very poorly socialized teenager. While a majority was her grandparent's fault, other druid parents had also refused to let their similarly aged children play with the child. Ava, and her brother, were the "black sheep" of the family. The grandparents were angry enough that their daughter had fathered not one, but two children with a non-druid but that non-druid being a werewolf? Well there was a reason they'd refused to give Ava the family surname when she was born. They kept her, as she and Jean were the only offspring of their only child, but that didn't mean they had to like it. And they'd convinced Ava that every single other druid would feel the same about her. That they wanted her because she was family, but no one else would want her. As such, she was very skittish around other people
Not only that though, but this druid healer was tall. Ava was very much on the petite side, which only seemed to make him appear even more intimidating. And yet... when he spoke there wasn't that same harsh tone to his voice that her grandmother had used. She'd actually started to flinch when he introduced himself, but froze mid flinch when she realized he wasn't angry. And as he spoke again? Well her eyes started to widen just a touch. She clearly wasn't used to kindness from strangers. Those lavender eyes just stared at him, as if trying to decide if she could believe his words or not.
Her grandmother let out a frustrated sigh. "She's the bastard child of our daughter and a werewolf. She's quite sheltered," her grandmother explained. Any druid would connect the dots. A child of a werewolf would never be accepted easily by druid society, despite lycanthrope not being hereditary. Though she seemed to be blaming Ava's poor social skills purely on others (and not her and her husband).
Ava stared at the healer, as he asked this time, if he could see her leg. No one had asked her before. Immediately she wanted to say no, and scurry off. Her eyes broke away from his momentarily to turn to her grandmother. Clearly her grandmother was giving her quite the look because Ava flinched and her gaze turned back to the healer as she gave a very shaky, and very small nod.

April was creeping up on the British Isles, which also meant that even though Petri hadn't seen his cousin Aidan in years, the younger druid would be moving in to the flat in London shortly. Petri had been over the moon at the news, but in the meantime, he had to continue his work as a healer. He had been summoned to Hy-Brasil to deal with an injured, who had proven to be difficult to deal with for her grandparents. She was on the verge of tears as she faced Petri, begging her family so that he wouldn't examine her. Petri's face crumpled - he'd never been in a situation such as this. He tried to calm her, but her pupils were dilated in terror and she was breathing rapidly. Petri didn't get any closer for fear that he would cause a panic attack.
The girl's lavender eyes widened as he spoke, and her face froze in an expression halfway between fear and confusion. Petri towered over her - he bent down to a knee to try to make her feel more comfortable. The grandmother haughtily explained that this girl was the child of a werewolf. Petri frowned, and nodded. His time living with Jules had been short, but informative nonetheless. "I recently spent some time with the daughter of a werewolf, though she was not one herself. She said her affected siblings wanted only to be cured, and if I was a healer I was to do all I could to help. And not to judge for something she could not help," said Petri slowly, not taking his eyes off the teen.
Holding out a hand in offering, Petri asked if he could see her leg. After a long moment, the girl hesitantly nodded. Petri nodded. "Thank you," said Petri, rising and moving slowly towards the girl. He approached her like a frightened animal - techniques he had learned from his cousin Aidan who excelled, though all druids had affinities for animals. Petri bent down, kneeling on the ground once more as he first inspected her leg. It was rather gruesome - he wasn't sure how this girl was walking. "I am going to touch your leg in a few places to see where the worst damage is, okay? Will you tell me from one to ten how bad the pain is each time I press, one being no pain, ten being horrible pain?"
