▲ Well having an editor walk in and witness what was happening with Strom was great. Grey hadn't had too much interaction with Cade Woodward in regards to his Quidditch work, but they were on a name to name basis at the very least. He was probably the best of the editors to deal with too, except trying to explain what was going on was sort of difficult. Especially after he had almost been launched halfway across the room by the shove. “Afternoon sir,” Grey said to the editor as he put his hands down. “Was just inquiring with Mr. Strom about potentially getting an interview at some point about his career, though I may overstepped a bit.” That was an understatement. The former Quidditch player wasn’t inherently a bad guy nor was he ever known for being overtly violent throughout his career (though he could slug a bludger harder than most in the international league). There was a voice from behind Strom, from one of the women at the table, saying something about working, but Grey still didn’t understand what was going on. “If you still have an agent or a press person, I can just reach out to them instead, that way we don’t need to keep this weird standoff going?” Grey was positive that he was about to be called off by Cade though, so this was most likely his last shot at it. @tag ● ### ● Song by Artist MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Clock strikes upon the hour And the sun begins to fade April 18, 2026 A woman from behind Strom spoke up and Cade looked at her curiously, he recognized her from their previous meeting. ”Ms. Calderón, love to see you again.” Cade greeted her with that trademark smile of his. Then he looked back at Grey who was explaining what he was up to. Seemed reasonable enough but obviously, Mr. Strom was not having it. Either he truly was not interested in the prospect of an interview. Plus he had not recognized Camila, but how could he with such a large man blocking his entire view. ”Slater, I believe Mr. Strom is working.” Cade again looked at Camila, since he wasn’t standing directly in from of Bernhard he could see everything from a different angle.
He cleared his throat, while the office could be rather loud at times he could usually hide away in his office where he didn’t have to constantly shout but being in this parlor had forced him to speak much louder for far too long. ”Grey--have you met Camila Calderón?” Cade motioned to the woman behind Strom who was sitting who two people he didn’t recognize who just watched the entire thing curiously, one was still eating her pizza. Cade assumed that Grey had offered his card, and that was likely the best the young journalist would be able to do at this point since he apparently was just trying to keep him away from the table where Camila sat. Plus, he didn’t want one of his employees to be responsible for some kind of scene here today.

April 18, 2026 Camila appreciated how quickly Cade Woodward was able to keep things from escalating any further with this Quidditch journalist, and she offered him a small smile in thanks as he pointed out to the young man what she thought would have been so painfully obvious. Bernhard Strom, despite his earlier sports fame, wasn't there as a Quidditch player; he worked as a part of her security detail.
"Grey—" Cade Woodward was addressing the younger journalist who had been so intent on getting an interview with Bernhard. "Have you met Camila Calderón?" he asked, and the question seemed more pointed than it was the place for an introduction. Nevertheless, she gave him a quick wave before returning to her pizza and conversation with Layla and Lance.

April 18, 2026 Tamatha wasn't sure if her younger sister, Cameron, wanted to meet up with her for pizza or not, but she had joined the queue upon realizing just how long it would take to order. Never mind actually finding someplace to sit, she wasn't sure that she had seen that many people in one place in a long time. It probably hadn't been since the Quidditch league finals, in truth, and realizing that made her feel uncomfortable enough to step out of the line again. Just as she was preparing to make her way back outside to try to call Cameron, she saw the young journalist she'd helped at that ill-fated match and Cade Woodward (also of the Daily Prophet) both standing opposite Bernhard Strom, the former Quidditch player. Strom, meanwhile, was standing in front of a booth, and Tamatha recognized one of the people seated there as Camila Calderón.
She had no idea where to start with that, mostly because it seemed to be slightly chaotic, and she approached just in time to hear Camila Calderón telling Cade—politely, though—to leave Bernhard Strom alone. That was… interesting, Tamatha thought. Instead of piling on some more stress for the group, however, she realized that she could make herself useful without even trying. She had her being half Veela to thank for that and waited until Cade Woodward had introduced the younger journalist to Camila.
Walking up to the younger journalist but not remembering his name apart from "Grey", Tamatha smiled. "Hey," she started, "you're the kid from last season's league finals, right?"

▲ He was starting to get confused. The lady in the booth and Cade were both saying that Bernhard Storm was working, though he failed to see how that was the case. All the man was doing was standing in one spot, in front of a table. Cade added to that, asking him if he knew Camila Calderón. Presumably the one that waved at him from around the hulking form of Strom. He had no clue who that was. “Sorry, I don't.” Was she supposed to be someone of importance? If so, that meant Strom was working as her private security? All he wanted to do was write about Quidditch, and somehow that ended up like this. It was all so weird. Especially since Cade apparently knew who this Camila Calderón character was. Backing away from the man he wanted to interview, Grey finally relented. It wasn't worth getting physical and the guy was apparently only doing his job. He needed to learn how to use his words better though, especially if he didn't want someone swinging back at him. Strom was lucky Grey viewed himself as physically weak, outside of an odd array of defensive charms he learned from his brief Auror training. That wouldn't do much against a seven foot giant. As he moved off to the side and signaled to Cade so that he could try and get a better explanation of what he was missing here, a familiar person approached him, asking if he was the ‘kid’ from the league finals match. Yup. That was him. The kid. From the finals where a bunch of people blew up. That had been absolutely exhilarating to be a part of. “And you're Tammy, right? Still the news coordinator for the league?” He couldn't recall seeing her this season, but he was also stuck on some of the lower ranked team beats. It was hard work, but not exactly thrilling. @tag ● ### ● Song by Artist MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Clock strikes upon the hour And the sun begins to fade April 18, 2026 Camila offered a small smile and Cade figured they should leave her be with her friends. Strom was not a Quidditch player anymore, Cade was familiar with the story but it wasn’t the time nor the place to ask him questions. But, he could see Grey’s angle and the opportunity to speak to him and maybe get a story out of it. Cade remembered being a young journalist looking for his big break and honestly, he might have done the same thing. Often the other Editor and even the Senior Directors forgot what it was like to be young and so ambitious with much to learn.
Grey admitted that he had no idea who Camila was and he made a mental note to ensure that at least the interns next year were rotated to work through the different topics the Prophet covered. They backed away from the table and Strom seemed to calm down though he still watched them with some suspicion. But they were also joined by a familiar blonde. Quidditch seemed to be the topic of the day. ”She was, last I checked.” Cade interjected, giving a friendly smile to his colleague from the Quidditch League. With his job at the paper, he interfaced with many in the League as much as he did the Ministry. ”I was just saving Grey from Camila Calderón's bodyguard.” He joked, giving a smirk to him.

April 18, 2026 "And you're Tammy, right? Still the news coordinator for the league?"
Tamatha was surprised that Grey remembered her name, considering the pace at which they had been moving through the stadium. At that point, though, they had been completely unaware that anything wouldn't happen as planned. It had been an accident; Tamatha knew that, but that didn't stop her from being cautious. She wasn't sure that she would be able to see fireworks the same way, either, though she was sure that everyone who had been in attendance that day had come away with some sort of trauma.
"She was, last I checked," Cade interjected before she could answer Grey, and it was clear that he was attempting to lighten the mood after… whatever that had been. Cade mentioned that he had been saving Grey from Camila Calderón's bodyguard, and that certainly explained what had gone down.
Tamatha raised her brow for a moment at what Cade had told her, but she kept a straight face. "Yeah, I'm Tammy," she confirmed, "and I'm tempted to say that you have a death wish, trying to get an exclusive interview with Argentina's most famous singer?"

▲ At least he seemed to get one thing right in the last five minutes. Everything surrounding the league championship match after the explosion was a blur, but he remembered vividly asking Tammy for assistance in getting to the locker rooms before that all went down. Replying those events over and over again in his head for the first few weeks after had been hard. Obviously there was nothing he could have done, but so many players had died. That had easily been one of the hardest subjects to overcome during this season’s interviews and articles. Writing endlessly about the tragedy wasn't going to get them anywhere, especially when the league as a whole needed to move on. What Tammy said next was curious, to say the least. “Bernhard Strom is Argentina’s most famous singer?” he asked, absolutely perplexed by what he was hearing. He glanced over his shoulder to look at the large man again. Strom was still glaring at him, though the death stare down that he had been giving earlier was replaced with more of a ticked off look. He didn't see the face of a popstar anywhere in that scowl. “That's one hell of a career change if that's true. I'd take him more as the hard rock type, and not as a vocalist.” Though maybe he had the voice of an angel. Who knew? @tag ● ### ● Song by Artist MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Clock strikes upon the hour And the sun begins to fade April 18, 2026 Tammy knew who had been sitting at that table and Cade was sure that many in attendance probably did as well. Hence the need for private security. As a journalist, Cade had been in those trying to be close to someone with some notoriety whether it was positive or negative. He could still feel the bodyguard’s eyes on them, but he ignored it for now. Eventually, he would see they were not a threat and it had all been a big misunderstanding. Tammy jumped on the train of lightly poking fun at the young reporter, but Grey’s response made Cade pause.
Over that mere moment, he was deciding whether Grey was joking or was taking Tammy’s words to heart. And it seemed he had taken the words to heart. ”Bernhard Strom is protecting Argentina’s most famous singer.” Cade finally responded, eyes lingering on the young man for an extra moment. What did they have him assigned to again? Cade certainly hoped he was much more observant in his work than he was at the moment. ”In any case, I thought we had you assigned to Quidditch, or do you write food reviews on the side now?” To say that it hadn’t been done before would be incorrect. Some people have their interests and hobbies and he was sure there were many food critics here.

April 18, 2026 "Bernhard Strom is Argentina's most famous singer?" Grey asked, and it took Tamatha a few seconds to realize that his disbelief was completely genuine. He wasn't just making a joke and pretending that he didn't know who Camila Calderón was for the sake of playing dumb; he really didn't know what in Merlin's name he had just done. "That's one hell of a career change if that's true. I'd take him more as the hard rock type, and not as a vocalist."
As Tamatha glanced at Cade to gauge his reaction to Grey's response, she drew her lips into a line. He really had his hands full, didn't he? She was glad that he wasn't exactly her responsibility, though she knew that she would need to make a note not to let this kid anywhere near the players without someone more senior accompanying him.
"Bernhard Strom is protecting Argentina’s most famous singer," Cade emphasized, since the message she had tried to send to Grey hadn't been clear enough, apparently. (Hopefully, Tamatha thought, that was just because her Veela charm was coming over him and not because he was really that dense.) "In any case, I thought we had you assigned to Quidditch," he added, "or do you write food reviews on the side now?"
Not wanting to overstep, Tamatha remained silent. That didn't mean, however, that she wasn't overwhelmingly curious about what the next thing out of Grey's mouth might be. If anything, he was absolutely eating his words.

▲ Yeah the cheese and pepperoni coma was definitely clouding his judgement and ability to coherently think. This was all the Prophet’s fault in the end, because it was the Lifestyle editor that had snagged him and thrown him onto this piece. In his mind he was actually doing his job by approaching Bernhard Strom and attempting to get an interview. That was how things worked. Being proactive would move him up in the ranks and away from being the statistician. Not that he disliked recording and writing down numbers all day. There just came a point where he wanted to do actual journalism instead of putting goals scored stats into tables that were formatted for the paper. That was mindless intern work that he was stuck doing because he was semi-decent at it and never complained to his superiors about having to do it. His confusion was cleared up by Cade, who corrected him and stated that Strom was actually a bodyguard, not a world famous singer. Grey probably would have guessed that eventually, but his brain was basically melted at this point. “Right, that's what I meant to say,” he sighed. The food exhaustion was finally kicking in. “Lifestyle taking advantage of my goodwill,” he explained to Cade. “But I'm not really cut out for food reviews, if I'm being honest.” How anyone could manage that amount of food on a daily basis was beyond him. He was sure Lifestyle said the same about Quidditch though. @tag ● ### ● Song by Artist MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Clock strikes upon the hour And the sun begins to fade April 18, 2026 A side glance told Cade that Tamatha was on the same very confused wavelength. But it was a nice change of pace. Many of the interns and younger journalists would have been jumping up and down trying to do something impressive for someone with an Editor title, thinking it would get them ahead and quicker. But Cade didn’t try and operate that way, he didn’t need young kids with Senior titles just because they bought him a whiskey once. That wouldn’t produce the caliber of content he wanted for the paper.
Grey insisted that he was on the same page as them, which might have been true or he was just that slow to catch up today. Cade made a mental note, he’d never heard any complaints about Grey’s work before, and if anything he’d helped with major articles in the past--probably just an off day. And considering it was a very strange day in a strange venue as well. It seemed that Grey had been volunteered for an article that he would not normally write, he made a second mental note to talk to the Lifestyle Director on why none of his own writers, not even an intern seemed to be present. ”Well, I don’t blame you.” Cade took a cautionary look around at the pandemonium of the event. Half the floor seemed to be covered in flour now from those who were making their own pizza and had knocked over boxes that had been lined with it so the dough didn’t stick. ”Was the line this bad when you arrived?” Cade still wondered if he wanted to wait or if he would just return another time instead.

April 18, 2026 Seeing that Cade seemed to have the situation with this young man under control, obviously trying to figure out how he had ended up responsible for a lifestyle piece that wasn't typically his responsibility, Tamatha was prepared to go back out of the restaurant—her plan all along if not for the distraction that had come with the Bernhard Strom situation.
As the conversation between Cade and Grey continued, though, Cade asked him if things had been as bad with the queue when he had entered, too. In his defense, she had entered the queue and then left it, herself, because she wasn't about to stand there for half an hour only to hear that her younger sister wasn't in the mood for pizza. Not wanting Cade to have to deal with any more nonsense, though, Tamatha spoke up.
"Check with Blishwick," she advised Cade. She wasn't about to openly admit that she had used the man's blind dating services twice, but she knew how big he was on advertising anything and everything that he could. "He'll comp something if he knows you're with the Prophet, I'm sure." Heck, he'd probably shape it into a heart just for them.

▲ Turning the conversation away from Bernhard Strom and whether or not he was actually a popstar heartthrob sensation in Argentina was a relief. Dealing with such an imposing figure wasn’t something he was going to be doing without an intermediary next time, especially with this guy. There were ways to find out if he still had a publicist, and Grey was positive he probably did considering the way in which he was banned from Quidditch altogether. All he had to do was ask a few questions here and there and he’d probably know by the end of the week. With Tammy right here too, maybe it was worth picking her brain. She was only a league news coordinator but the odds of her knowing someone on the international side seemed likely. At the very least, she was a stepping stone to getting to the people that would have an answer. But that could happen later, after Bernhard and Cade were out of earshot. This was his own project now, and being too aggressive on it after being pushed around in the manner he had been wasn’t a good idea. There were limits to every story, and he had reached his for now. “I was meeting with my sister, so I got here early,” Grey stated. “Line was only about halfway through the restaurant at that point. And Blishwick had a person doing up all the dough to get things moving along.” Last time he made a circle around the front of the parlor though, it seemed like that employee had disappeared. Now everyone was rolling their dough out in uneven clumps. He was far from being any sort of cook, but there was no way that was going to cook properly. Tammy added that checking with Blishwick would be a good idea, probably meaning to get to the front of the line, no questions asked. Grey was about to say that he could just walk up there with Cade just in case, when a very clear clearing of the throat came from behind him. @tag ● ### ● Song by Artist MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

▲ Jimbo felt like a superstar. Or an evil villain. He hadn’t decided which title best suited him as he continued his takeover of the population’s hearts and stomachs with his business prowess. The pizza parlor was already a clear success two months prior when it opened and the continued support and buzz surrounding it was all customer generated. The only advertising he had done thus far, outside of placing ads in the newspapers and magazines, was for this event. That was different for him. The matchmaking business, while self-sustaining in specific circles of the magical population, very rarely had new customers that stumbled in unaware of what it was that he did. Almost everyone knew that he did matchmaking and how he could help on their first visit to him. The blind date events that he had been putting on for fun over the last two years had certainly helped a lot with expanding to younger age groups, though none of them were interested in getting hitched to their partners yet. And who could blame them? Aside from the ones with a pureblood pedigree (and ones that pretended that they still had one), very few young witches and wizards were getting married. It wasn’t like the old days where there were a dozen or so engagements and betrothals of literal children. Thankfully that had mostly stopped on its own, with very little curtailing on his and his father’s parts. The world didn’t operate like that anymore, fortunately. Everyone liked pizza though, especially the Americans, and it seemed like his staff were going beyond what was expected of them and making it the right way. He had snagged Nova Vector early in the morning and pleaded for her help with making the dough for the crust, or at the very least, to put on a quick demonstration for the employees and early arrivals. Instead, and Merlin bless her gracious heart, she spent close to three hours doing everything herself. That effectively made the early morning and afternoon crowds speed through the line with an efficiency he had yet to see here. The only real problem was getting people to eat quickly and then leave. He didn’t want to force customers out if they didn’t want to go, but the spill over into the streets and the angry shopkeepers from the neighboring stores were starting to add up. It really wasn’t any different from when Honeydukes released new candies, so he personally didn’t see the problem with it. With the afternoon winding down and the line slowly being taken care of (he had finally put a hard stop on anyone trying to join that wasn’t previously signed up), Jimbo decided it was time to walk around his restaurant. There were dozens of familiar faces, old and new, that he happily waved at and spent a minute or two talking to. A free pizza voucher to Professor Vector for helping the poor girl that had slipped and dropper her pizzas, and another to James Potter for keeping his sister under control. The rambunctiousness didn’t bother him, but there was a limit to when he could hear the youngest Potter talking over the hundreds of other voices waiting in line. Unfortunately he knew who she was already, having been bombarded with questions one summer when she got lost and wandered into the matchmaking office. And now she was in the same year as Jimmie, so there were stories from his daughter too. One interesting group near the front of the building consisted of a group of what he assumed were Daily Prophet reporters, headed by Cade Woodward, and right nearby was Camila Calderon’s table. That put a mischievous smile on Jimbo’s face, as it seemed to him like the predators had finally caught up with their prey. Try as they might to say they weren’t a tabloid paper anymore, they still produced some highly salacious material at times. It was a wonder how they didn’t have more lawsuits against them. “I would comp Mr. Woodward because he’s a good friend,” Jimbo corrected the young woman as he stepped into their little semicircle of a group. He recognized the younger man as the one that had asked for a half-dozen different slices since he needed to write an article on it. He probably could have picked a better day to do that, but there was a reason Jimbo was in matchmaking and pizza, and not journalism. “Afternoon Daily Prophet. I hope you haven’t been giving Ms. Calderon any issues today?” he grinned. A quick glance at the musician’s table showed that they were happily eating, though the bodyguard was grumpy. Now he could probably complete the ‘Hold On Loosely (To Your Pants!) Challenge’. The woman that had tried to earlier was unfortunately not up to the task. @tag ● ### ● Song by Artist MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0
