personality
likes:
- the winter
- cooking
- butterbeer- it's just really the best
- potions
- overcast and windy days- you'll often find apollo outside on those days, sitting under a tree and reading a potions book or a muggle cookbook his mother sent him
dislikes:
- confrontation
-the summer/the heat
-blood supremacists. should go without saying, but it's an issue still somewhat prevalent in the wizarding world.
- the percieved notion of what hufflepuffs *should* be. apollo vehemently despises the house system- he feels people are more than four houses with two or three traits.
- potatoes. third year divination, on a partner project, a gryffindor student predicted apollo will die from a potato. he regards them with distrust ever since.
- early mornings. apollo is not a morning person. nine am is his absolute limit, and even then he's groggy and somewhat aggravated.
overall personality:
Apollo is many things. He's introverted; sure he's carved out a healthy group of close friends he loves, but he's not the person to go out and meet people. This sometimes gets misconstrued as him feeling as though he's above others, when that's not true at all. He'd just rather sit in a corner and read a book or brew a potion then be social, for the most part. With that, Apollo is somewhat... neurotic. Potato hatred notwithstanding, in high pressure situations he tends to overthink, or not think at all- this leads to his less-than stellar performances in more aggressive forms of magic, such as Defense against the Dark Arts. Potions, for him, is different; something about the quiet of it all, the all-consuming isolation of it aids his focus tremendously.
All in all, Apollo is a fairly low-key person. Not quick to outwards anger or confrontation, though he can get himself into trouble with his mouth when he perceives a personal slight or injustice. It was second year that Apollo got jinxed at least two times by some fifth years because they'd made his friend cry- a good enough reason for him to mouth off and defend his friend. But on the other hand, he DID cut off one friend just for the fact they kept banishing potatoes at him, and he said some pretty mean stuff. He's been meaning to apologize for that...
personal history
origins:
London, England
relations:
Katherine Foster- mother
Gregory Foster- father
Jericho Foster- brother (seven years old)
pets:
A barn owl named Calpurnia (after his great grandmother on his father's side)
history:
Apollo was raised in a lowkey suburb of London. His parents (Gregory Foster, and Katherine Clarke) had met on as night in London; the way they tell it, it was love at first sight; the way his Uncle Bobby tells it, his father more so fell in love at first sight, and his mother waited to make any judgements. He finds, looking back, that his life was balanced; his father's side was the crazy family with the magic, while his mother was a more stately upper middle class Muggle family. His father had been told long ago by a seer that he would find the sunshine in his life; for a long time, Gregory thought that it was Katherine. When she told him she was pregnant, he quickly realized it was this new life they'd created. That's reflected in Apollo's name, which is strange since he despises the summer and that godforsaken sun that makes him sweat.
His childhood was lowkey, not necessarily idyllic but close; his dad was a clerk in Diagon Alley shop, his mum a middle school principle. He found though there were struggles, he always had love in his life; nd he always had Hogwarts to look forward to. When the day came that he boarded that scarlet train and waved goodbye to his tearful parents, he felt the world was his oyster and the possibilities were endless. Though it wasn't bad at all, it was still school. He wasn't much the studying type, though overtime he found it within himself to buckle down and do it. His favorite subject was potions, something that surprised even him (like most children, he assumed Defense would be). He displayed somewhat of an aptitude in the subject, and it remains his favorite subject to his day- which catches us up to now. A year away from graduation, still not entirely sure what he's going to do after Hogwarts, Apollo goes about his daily routine of classes and reading recipe books, still with those godforsaken reading glasses on.alias
