It was a few days past the full moon, and Geethanjali was glad that it hadn't interfered with her ability to celebrate Samhain. She couldn't go to Hy-Brasil under most circumstances, save for the Hogwarts trip there, but she was raised in a part-Druid family despite having been adopted and not being a Druid by blood.
The first night's bonfire had been nice, but afternoon of the second day was what she was most eager for: a street carnival set up with all sorts of activities. She might have been fifteen and too old for some of the "children's" fun, but it was Samhain and Halloween, and she was going to enjoy it. Her parents had even allowed her to put off her schoolwork for the day, making the toffee apple that she was waiting in a queue for that much sweeter. Even with all the excitement, it felt a little bit different from that time of year in years past. People were noticeably more reflective than Geethanjali recalled from previous years, and there were more non-Druids than ever who seemed to have taken an interest in being able to communicate with people who had died.
That all made sense, though. Things had changed rapidly, and Geethanjali wasn't oblivious to it. She knew that no one's lives were going to be the same, not even her own, but that didn't mean that they had to change for the worse.
