Nora hasn't known any other life other than the half-vampire life. As a kid, she was taught the way things worked for her and she accepted that as her reality. Probably the biggest part of her half vampire nature that has affected her personality is the need to 'hunt'. For as long as she could remember, she enjoyed the chase. Her family took human blood from a blood bank to feed on, but she was kind of bummed that she didn't get to do the chasing of it all. She didn't want to kill anybody, per say, but she still had that instinct and allowed herself to fall in love with it.
That was how she got into hunting with guns, which was pretty common in Canada anyway so it was easy to make friends who were interested in the same thing. That was a big part of her life. Due to being a half vampire, the sun did irritate her skin, though, which meant it was hard to go hunting during the day (which was safest for hunting, of course). She was irritated by having to deal with the sun, but got used to wearing jackets with hoods and layers to protect her skin from irritation.
She learned at a young age that she had the similar 'alluring' vampire voice that her mother had, and this amused her. She never used it for anything really serious, but it was fun to see what kind of favors she could get people to do for her. She grew bored with this quickly, though, and doesn't really focus on it that much anymore. She has considered using her voice to lure animals to her when hunting, but she also thinks that takes the fun out of the chase.
Long story short, Canada was the perfect place for her to grow up with his cold months, hunting seasons, and a small town. Adjusting to life in a bigger city and school, that's going to be the hard part.
