PERSONALITY Canaan is the epitome of a two sided coin. On the one side is the front that he has to upkeep in order to ensure the safety of the Nott family, the one that is "tolerant" and "accepting" of muggles and half-breeds. This side is known for his outlandish donations to the well being of muggles, and even has ensured him a position as a Hit Wizard. Really, being a Hit Wizard is a better outlet for his anger problems. He is a rather violent individual, and in such, requires a constant outlet for it. Those who are close to the front side of him, the one that is tolerant, view him as kind, outgoing, and sociable. These things can be said about the true form of Canaan also, but it is more toward other purebloods that he is this way. He enjoys flaunting his power and his wealth around, showing to other purebloods just how much status he has over them. He views muggles and the like as beneath him, unworthy of even sharing the same air that he breathes, but because of the current environment he bites his tongue and deals with it. He enjoys violence in every aspect of the word. He is a major playboy and partier, he loves his drinking just as much as he loves his women. He doesn't particularly want to settle down, but with the family resting on his shoulders he knows his hand will be forced soon. Too soon in his opinion. He will marry a pureblooded woman, in true pureblood fashion. It was no surprise that the Nott's were among the list that made the cut, afterall, they were distant cousins. The line going back to the Bagshots, Notts, Gamps, and along the lines of the Vulchanova's in Norway. There is a lot of pureblood relations and roots that extend through the family, which had been ingrained into the Nott children present day. It was no surprise to Canaan that they had some pureblood royalty in their family. Even if the Grindewald's were far off the line, not to mention his own great grandfather wrote the pureblood directory. Throughout his life he was being set up as the heir to the Nott name and fortune, even with his brother's preceeding him, he was the next male Nott in line. It was his duty to take on the family name and bring it honor...no matter the cost. This included instilling the same values into his siblings, that way they were being told from all fronts. Growing up Canaan knew all about the Dark Arts and Dark Magic at a very young age. He was prone to violence, but ultimately, was able to keep it in check with underground fight clubs he found among the magic community. There was something about spilling blood that was quite satisfying to Canaan. He is extremely protective of his family, and fears that one of his siblings will go and ruin the pureblood line in a fit of rebellion, so he has ensured that he knows of his siblings movements at all times. Feigning to be the caring older brother that he is, when in reality it is to his own advantage for the Nott name. His father was in Azkaban for a while for being in posession of two illegal time turners. One of which the Ministry could never locate, even going as far as to examining the Nott vault at Gringott's, not realizing that they had an offshore location in Norway where most of the artifacts they held over the generations rested. For the majority of his life, Canaan was the lead male of the Nott home, having to grow up quickly due to his father's arrest. Taking on such an undertaking meant further assurance that his siblings didn't wreck anything with their behavior. His mother, still assumed the role as Lady Nott, hosting various social events to show the rest of the purebloods that their line still held strong and held much wealth regardless of Canaan's father's arrest. To which Theodore Nott will die in Azkaban for his crimes on the black market in the year 2022. Upon entering Hogwarts he found a select group of friends that he was close with. All purebloods, but for the most part he found that many were more...accustomed and integrated with mudbloods, much to his dismay. It was a total shock when his whole life he had been taught that the Pureblood status was sacred, and it should be revered as such. He found much trouble at Hogwarts, in the form of detention, fights, drug use, drinking, and sex with various women. It didn't really matter to him what blood status they were as long as they ended up in his bed. He barely passed his OWLs, since he was more focused on the partying and mischief, and graduated. To say that he missed the whole purifiers debacle was a letdown would be an understatement. He truly would have thrived to be a part of that revolution in Hogwarts. Yet, he does stand with it outside of Hogwarts, just with everyone being on guard he has to keep it on the low in order to protect the Nott family. So, he quickly made his way as an Auror for cover up within the Ministry, and transferred to a hit wizard a short time later. He remains as a wonderful, standup person to the world, being a hit wizard allowing him to keep his violent streak at bay, all the while covering up how purist the Notts truly are. OOC
