It was a good sign that Juniper immediately put her nose to her parchment as she began to take notes – because it was exactly the sort of sensible and industrious thing that Viv wouldn’t have thought to do. Or at least, not until that last moment realization when she’d remember that pesky exam or writers’ meeting or pitch and she’d have to pull an all-nighter to be ready on time. She was hyper-focused and let her whims pull her to the next project, but that meant her follow-through wasn’t always on point. That was the advantage of bringing someone else in on the project at the ground-level, especially someone that knew the industry as well as Juniper. Viv nodded thoughtfully but didn’t make an effort to take notes. She had what she needed in her brain for now.
But she did take the opportunity to pull one of the binders out of Juniper’s floating library so she could peruse her portfolio. She’d brought some concepts for other shows that she must’ve worked on and Viv let her imagination pull her into the artwork and the graphs and the testimonials. “Bloody hell, this is cute,” Viv cooed, holding up a picture of a cartoon dragon with big bubbly eyes. Probably geared towards a much younger audience, but she could see how one might weave in some educational content about magical creatures too. Viv had never studied the mechanics of how to write a show for children, but she was mad for Muggle things and had watched some TV over the years. There was something magical about their ability to substitute wands and spells with their own version of things.
Right. Next steps. Viv nodded along to Juniper’s suggestions because it all sounded quite good and proper. “Yeah, I’ll prob have to loop my producers in soon. But it’d be best to get as much work done as possible before we present it. Harder to say no to a finished product and all that.” They could always reject it under any circumstances, of course, but it was easier to say no to a theoretical concept and harder once it began to take an actual form. Viv brightened at the thought that this meeting had actually gone really well and looked around at her office before turning back to Juniper. “You can work on the pitch from here if you want. I’m outta town filming for the next couple days anyway.”
