"The school of life" was an expression that people typically used to talk about education outside of formal contexts and not a physical place, but Geethanjali supposed that wasn't entirely accurate anymore. She would be attending LIFE—the Lufkin Institute for Further Education, that was—to complete her NEWTs, at a minimum, before figuring out her career path based on her examination scores. Being homeschooled only to have to start a new school year in June was hardly enjoyable, though being a student at LIFE came with a major perk that Hogwarts hadn't had before: Geethanjali (or any student) could attend as a day student instead of as a boarder.
Not having to deal with transformations while away from her parents was a huge deal for Geethanjali. With full moons on a monthly basis, it would be so much easier to go home and sleep through them in the comfort of her own bedroom. It made her feel safer, too, if she was honest. If anything were to go wrong at Hogwarts again, she would be less likely to lose half her belongings or to end up injured or killed—because she wouldn't be there twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
Despite that reassurance, however, Geethanjali's stomach was in knots as she boarded a bus that felt more like the Knight Bus than the Hogwarts Express. She wasn't even sixteen yet, which meant that she would be one of the youngest students at LIFE. She also wasn't sure what it would feel like to go back to Hogwarts for the first time since Elaine Dupree had attacked it. Would it feel the same, or would she be begging her parents to let her be homeschooled again?
As her older sibling found one of their friends, Geethanjali went upstairs one level and sat at the front so that she could see out from one of the bus's front windows. Maybe, she hoped, that would distract her from her thoughts until they reached LIFE.
OOC: OPEN to any other LIFE students on the bus!
