Improvisation had become one of Ayla's favorite parts of her training at the Wizarding Academy of Dramatic Arts. It was easier for her to get into character when she could come up with a look for that character and then embody that. Being a Metamorphmagus, it wasn't technically "cheating". She was just using an ability that she already had—one with which she had been born—to her advantage. Maybe her teachers at Hogwarts hadn't found it as interesting that she could change her appearance, but it was certainly helpful as an actress to make herself look like anyone she wanted to be.
For that particular moment, she was supposed to be portraying an elderly woman. She didn't need an Ageing Potion. Props would have made it more realistic, of course, but she could at least give herself jowls, wrinkles, and some tight, grey curls in just a few seconds' time. Ayla knew that she would still have to play the role; she would still have to act it out and sell that she was some eighty years old instead of eighteen and fresh out of Hogwarts.
That was all part of the fun of it, though, felt Ayla. How many other people could become other people without really trying? Acting was, without a doubt, the perfect career.
