This new school, in Bludworth's view, wasn't completely what the magical learning establishment once was – if anything it was Hogwarts quartered. But, nonetheless, the ghost was grateful to once again sway through the elegant gloom of the Slytherin common room. Even with his presence, the area remained void of life, but he was home once more.
So over the moon to be within his beloved domain once more, Bludworth had confined himself to the area like a lion recovering from separation anxiety after being reunited with a cub. This was not a celebration the ghost required other guests for, for he was at his most jolly and elated alone.
He “sat” within one of the elegant dust-covered carved chairs, his feet propped up on the table before him as he listlessly drank from the ghostly duplicate of the poisoned bottle of rum that had killed him.
Having been around for over three centuries, very little surprised him these days. But the sounds of footsteps entering the common room induced a foreign sense of surprise within him. A password was no longer required to gain entrance to the Slytherin common room, but the entrance opened to those who held and exhibited the traits and values of the House itself.
Bludworth had to be cautious with this person, for the House was nonetheless associated with purist convictions. He was a proud Slytherin, but a Muggle-born before all else.
This person could've just been cunning and ambitious like him, but as prejudiced as Salazar Slytherin himself.
“Well, well, well,” Bludworth crooned as the person entered. “Not too many faces in the ol' common room these days. Wha' brings ye here?”
