When she was younger, no one had bothered to tell her how much of a pain it would be to try to do errands around a regular work schedule, Rose thought. She had held a Ministry job and worked for herself prior to taking up her job at MYSTIC, but she still hadn't figured out the sweet spot of reaching shops before they were packed full of people who also worked during the day, as most people did. She didn't have time to go anywhere before work, and she couldn't exactly walk out on four-year-olds and leave them to their own devices while she popped over to Diagon Alley.
Reaching the magical shopping district as soon as she was done with her work responsibilities for the day seemed like a reasonable option, provided that she didn't have to rush out from MYSTIC constantly. In terms of timing, she hoped that she would beat some of the crowds, but there was no way of being sure of that. Most of the businesses in Diagon Alley and Horizont Alley were relatively small businesses, after all, where the hours sometimes changed without notice based on who had shown up for work that day (or not).
It seemed half the wizarding world had had the same idea as she, though, when she Apparated there. Diagon Alley was a narrow street, but this was something else. Rose didn't like the sensation of being packed in so tightly when all she needed were a few odds and ends, and she decided to duck into the first shop that she saw had some open space inside.
Not even checking to see where she was going as long as she could Disapparate from there to go back to Hogsmeade, Rose rushed inside Alderton's Bakery and Sweets, letting out a breath as the door shut behind her. She wasn't sure why she had been so bothered by the presence of so many people; her entire life, she had heard comments about how large her family was.
Glancing around in the hope that there would be enough room to Disapparate from the inside of the bakery without disturbing anyone or Splinching herself was a must.
