December 3, 2027 As a day student at LIFE, Geethanjali had the freedom to go where she wanted when she wasn't at school (provided, of course, that her parents allowed her). On most days, she simply went to and from school on the bus with the younger students. She didn't really see much of a reason to hang around later than she needed to be there, and that was especially true during the full moon.
More than anything else, it was helpful not to have to stay at Hogwarts during the full moon anymore. She could take her Wolfsbane Potion at home and keep her condition from getting in the way of her schoolwork. If she wasn't feeling well enough to attend lessons on a particular day, she could stay in the comfort of her bed instead of having to go to the Hospital Wing.
The one thing that LIFE was good for, though, was the library. It wasn't exactly the same as the library had been before the fire that had destroyed Hogwarts as it previously was, but it was even more interesting in some ways. Because of the emphasis that LIFE placed on more than just NEWT-level academics, there was an even wider array of books on so many different subjects.
Geethanjali still had in her head that she wanted to be a potioneer someday, but being a Ravenclaw meant that she didn't want to miss the opportunity to read a little bit of everything that there was to read. There were books on everything from Healing to magical stagecraft. Why wouldn't she want to learn as much as she could about all of it? Having had her eye on a book on Curse-Breaking, she had already let her parents know that she would be coming home late via Hogsmeade that day so that she had enough time to check it out after her classes were done for the day.
Instead, she had decided that she would be better off reading the book in one go while still at the library, lost track of time, and realized it was well after six o'clock. She should have been home already, and she knew it.

▲ With the end of the fall term nearing it's close, Blaise had begun to idly wander the new halls of Hogwarts at the end of the day. He knew he didn't have to feel as restless as he did, but it was hard not to be after what had happened last time. Being in the right place at the right time several times that night had saved a lot of lives, including his own. Getting caught on the wrong side of that fiendfyre was a death sentence, and luckily for those on the higher floors there were other exits aside from the main one that they could take to escape the castle. Because of this, his daily walks around dinner time had increased throughout the months. There was too much ground to cover with the way the campus was laid out now but Blaise did his best to target the more populated areas. Tonight was the area surrounding the new library. Dinner had already started so he didn't expect too many students to be in there, especially not his own MAGIC ones. Occasionally an older student managed to be there late though. Popping his head through the doors, he wasn't exactly surprised to see a student still there. Where the librarian happened to be was a great question, but that didn't matter too much. The student in question was Geethanjali Root, a relative of one of the Ministers of Magic, and also one of Hogwarts' werewolves. The information professors were privy to was astounding sometimes. The safety of a child werewolf was certainly at the top of the list though. Blaise had only managed to teach her for one year before the change in how academics were conducted, but he didn't forget any of his students. "Good evening Miss Root," Blaise said as he approached the student. He couldn't see what books she had out, yet didn't doubt that it was for LIFE coursework. "Hopefully not studying too hard, are you?"MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

December 3, 2027 Hearing Professor Zabini say her name immediately made Geethanjali think that she was in trouble, except she realized that the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor wasn't using the same tone of voice as the one he used when he was telling people off or giving them detention. (It almost made her wonder who that person was and what they had done with the real Professor Zabini.) Geethanjali hadn't been hearing things, though. It was Professor Zabini who had spoken to her, and he wasn't angry with her. Instead, he seemed… good-natured.
"Hopefully not studying too hard, are you?"
Still not sure if she was going to be chastised and slightly shocked, Geethanjali looked over at the professor and shook her head. "I-I wasn't, sir," she answered Professor Zabini. Was it a bad thing to be focused on her academics now? She hoped not. "What time is it?"

▲ His eyebrows flexed instinctively as it seemed like he may have given the wrong impression whilst interrupting Miss Root. He could never chastise a student for studying, unless it was being done so at an inappropriate time or place. Every once in a while he caught students attempting to cram their study notes in before an exam the next period. Defense Against the Dark Arts time was not to be used for anything but his class unless said otherwise. That was never really an issue until fifth year and the looming of the OWLs started to take hold. It's not a bad thing if you were," he chuckled at her surprise. "I've taught enough slackers during my couple of years here to know that you are not one of them." Even if she wasn't studying, it was good practice to find a quiet place for concentration. For him, it was his office. Perfectly serene whenever students weren't around. Despite thinking for his students as noise nuisances, he really did enjoy teaching them. "Half past six," Blaise answered as he pulled his sleeve back to check his watch. He'd had it since his school days, his initials etched into the back. A gift from his mother after his fourth year. It had managed to survive a long time in the field. Enough so that Blaise wondered if it was charmed. He'd never though to have it examined, figuring that messing around with it could lead to breaking it if not done carefully. "The house elves put out a superb stew tonight. Don't think I've had anything quite that good since my student days." That wasn't completely true. He had made a few personal requests a couple of times when he felt the hunger pangs strike in the middle of the night. The house elves never failed to make what he wanted. December 3, 2027 Though Professor Zabini was one of the more intimidating teachers at Hogwarts, Geethanjali seemed to have caught him in a better mood than usual. There was the very slim chance that he was actually someone else under the influence of Polyjuice Potion, which had happened at Hogwarts before. Realistically, Professor Zabini was still himself; he just didn't seem like it when he wasn't clearly frustrated by something or someone. Geethanjali did want to pinch herself, however, when it sounded like he was complimenting her. "I've taught enough slackers during my couple of years here to know that you are not one of them," Professor Zabini told her.
Geethanjali appreciated that he could tell that she wasn't a slacker. Sometimes, she could get distracted from whatever it was that she was supposed to be learning, but she did try. She wasn't just sitting at the back of the classroom and goofing off.
Professor Zabini told her, too, that the time was six thirty. It wasn't as late as it could have been, but it was late enough that Geethanjali knew that she was better off not dawdling if she could help it. "The house elves put out a superb stew tonight," he commented. "Don't think I've had anything quite that good since my student days."
As nice as Geethanjali was sure that stew was, she needed to be heading home. Her parents had probably made dinner by that point. "Thank you, Professor Zabini," she responded. "Er, I should be going…" She didn't want to seem rude, especially when she had caught Professor Zabini's good side, but she didn't want her parents to worry about her, either.

▲ ”Of course,” Blaise answered. The last thing he needed to be doing was holding up students, whether from their studies or extra-curriculars. There were times during his own schooling that he wished his professors had been a little less pushy and stuffy, allowing for more independent study. Now, more than ever before, it felt like Hogwarts was actually promoting that. While he was still teaching the basics to the younger students, watching them grow into what LIFE provided was quite interesting. He was already hoping that this would continue as they all grew accustomed to the new school and what it had to offer. ”If I don’t see you again before the end of term, good luck with your studies and have a happy holidays,” Blaise added as he turned to leave the library. Within the next week or so, he knew his own students would start to get glassy eyed and restless. It was an inevitable result of the impending holiday season. That was usually why he made final term papers and reports due mid-December. There were always complaints until they realized that what he assigned was due prior to all of the other classes, and that meant they’d have fun classes right before break. But students would still be students. One or two of them would still complain and end up spending hours in the library trying to get the work done. Apparently, no matter how he tried to mitigate their stress, some would still manage to freak out over it. Alas…back to rounds of the school. [The End] MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0
