Summer 2027(?) Ilija's House Although it had been surprising to hear from Ilija out of the blue, but he had written her a lengthy letter to clarify why it had been so long since they had been in communication with one another. Camila felt that it was partly her own fault, too. Even though they had broken up as a couple, she knew that she could have—and likely should have—done more to stay in touch with him. Fame was a complicated thing, however, and she hadn't wanted to put Ilija in another uncomfortable position.
They had agreed to meet at Ilija's house, and Camila was looking forward to seeing it because she knew how much it meant to him to have a place of his own. Because she hadn't been there before, she couldn't Apparate there directly. Instead, she managed to arrange for a Portkey to keep her from having to use another form of transportation that would have left her dealing with the public—and probably a security detail.
This meeting needed to be just between her and Ilija, Camila knew, as she arrived at what she imagined was his house. It was just a few minutes before eleven o'clock, the time that they had agreed upon, and she hoped that he wouldn't mind that she was slightly early.

Ilija wasn't sure if he dreaded this, or looked forward to it. He loved Carmen dearly and had quickly come to realise that despite not working as a couple for various reasons, that didn't mean he wasn't interested in spending time with her. He had missed her and as he was recovering and now actually in therapy, he saw little harm in meeting up. He was slowly starting to come to terms with his new life, and what that meant. So his immaculate home was tidied just a bit more before she came over in case she wanted a tour and a pot of tea had been prepared. He'd also gotten some cookies, mostly because it was the polite thing to do. He doubted Carmen cared all that much. He missed her, and in the end he just wanted to spend some time with her. So as the doorbel rang he opened up and stepped aside to let her in, figuring he could hug her as greeting when the door was closed. He was still a bit jumpy about the potential paparazzi bothering him again. "Glad you could make it ." He said and as soon as the door closed he was ready to take her coat and hive her a hug, should she want one. camila calderón

Summer 2027(?) Ilija's House Ilija let her inside his house but didn't say anything at first, not until the door was closed behind her. "Glad you could make it," he told her.
Camila was glad that she could make it, too, though she would have done everything she could to rearrange her schedule if she had to. She was also glad to see that Ilija wasn't being overly formal with her, and she greeted him in return, smiling softly as she did. "Hi, Ilija."
She felt a little bit apprehensive about seeing him for the first time in so long, yet she knew there wasn't really any reason for her to be nervous. She couldn't say that she had any experience with meeting an ex-boyfriend at his house, but Ilija knew who she was beyond her career. He knew her intimately, and she was grateful for that.
"Your house is very nice," she commented. She wasn't saying that just to flatter him, either; it was nice. Above all, it was nice that they could meet up with each other without having to worry about the paparazzi or her fans intruding on their conversation. They could express themselves more freely that way, and since they had last seen each other, her English had improved even more.
Casually, she slipped off the jacket that she was wearing, not usually one to bother with cloaks and the like, and was prepared to pack it away inside her purse. "How are you?" she asked then, hoping that that wouldn't make their conversation turn more formal than she would have liked.

Ilija wasn't sure if she was being polite in calling his house nice or not, since it was very basic. He'd managed to put a very small amount of decorations and well, he wasn't sure if she'd even spotted the portrait of Hannah that hung in the living room. Despite the fact he cared deeply for Carmen, she wasn't Hannah and he didn't share that kind of a history with her. He had come to accept that slowly, but he still felt a little awkward about it. Hannah would always be a large part of his life, even if she wasn't there anymore. He smiled a bit as she asked how he was. "I've been doing very well. Been taking on a few different jobs lately so I've gotten to experience some different places." He said with a smile, something that still wasn't very common for him. Still, he felt comfortable around Carmen and a part of him knew that if she hadn't been famous, this entire thing might have gone very differently. Not that it mattered much now, as things simply were they way they were. "How have you been?" He asked her warmly as he took her jacket and hung it on the coat hanger right next to the door. It was only polite to do so, after all. He then showed her towards the seating area, although it was within view of the door. Once again, he had good manners and had a strong preference towards using them. "Do you want anything to drink?" He asked her, having a pot of hot water already brewing for himself as he was preparing to have a cup of tea. He was trying to drink less coffee these days. camila calderón

Summer 2027(?) Ilija's House In reply to her, Ilija explained that he had been doing well. He said that he had gotten to visit some different places for his work as a Curse-Breaker, which must have been exciting for him by the way he smiled as he told her about it.
Camila knew what she wanted to say when he hung up her jacket and asked her how she had been, which was that she still thought about Ilija often and hoped that life had been treating him better since they had broken up. The timing didn't feel right, though, and so she responded with, "I've been well." While that answered his question, she felt that it was necessary for her to expand upon that, just as Ilija had with her. "I've been working. I am with a different label than before."
She had been trying to take her career at a slower pace since their break-up, and she was under less pressure than she had been while signed to her previous label. Her fans were looking forward to hearing new music from her, but she wanted to ensure that it was better than anything that they had heard from her up until that point. Overall, she had more control over what she did, but she had tried to keep from making any drastic decisions.
Although she hadn't sprung for it just yet, Camila had been considering buying an apartment or a house of some sort in England. She didn't need a mansion or even a penthouse, but she didn't mind the idea of having someplace that was truly her own. She hadn't been sleeping on a friend's couch then or at any point during her career, though, so it wasn't a pressing matter.
When Ilija offered her something to drink after showing her to his seating area, Camila graciously accepted that offer. She wasn't sure what he had available, but she assumed that, if anything, he would probably have tea. He was British, after all. She sat down and then looked over to Ilija. "I will have a cup of tea, please. If it's okay?"
