━ iif you ain't busy take a walk with me ━ FEELING HER BROW RAISE IN suspicion, Cal slightly turned inwards, facing her younger sister properly and moving her face closer to hers. She used to do a similar thing when the two were younger, invade in her sisters personal space but make her laugh by changing one aspect of her appearance. It always worked whenever Shy or even Eli were feeling sad, but this time, Cal meant it. "Who said it?" She repeated, having a lingering feeling within her that suspected she wouldn't like the answer.
Their father had a similar conversation with her once about something similar. That chasing after a dream, a goal, wasn't the best thing one could achieve. That Calliope should find her footing in something that's more real, instead of the desire to care and look after magical beasts. And unfortunately, given their situation and circumstances at the time..She let the tiny voice of her father that was rooted inside her head win. But of course now..she had worked past it, working towards something she actually enjoyed.
Smiling small at her sisters retort, the metamorphmagus found herself nodding while her hair slowly shifted through colours. The same colours that would only appear everytime she thought of Cara. "But..it only developed naturally because neither of us really..pushed for much. Not saying that's a bad thing but I didn't want to force or speed up the timeline between us...she was busy and I understood that. Then I moved, quit my old job and things changed as I settled in all over again.." Cal paused for a moment, thinking about all the things she had slowly been through with Cara, how their friendship and overall relationship had developed, like a true romantic slow burn.
"But if I could do it all again..from meeting her to where we are now..I wouldn't change a thing." She admitted, smiling small as she squeezed at her sister. "Screw 'em!" She began, grinning widely at her. "Change the conversation, it's completely fine if you're not in a relationship. You don't need to be in one until you're ready anyway." Pinching at Shy's nose, Cal then patted at her younger sister's thigh. "Just finish your exams and achieve whatever it is you want. I'll be your biggest supporter up close or afar..however you want it."

▲ ”Seriously, no one said it. Stupid people on the internet, you know? Just forget I even mentioned it,” she tried to brush it off again, compounding it with a small white lie. Their father had a million and one faults, all of which the two of them could discuss at length at some other point in time. His constant talking down on each of them in various ways was something they had all experienced. Shiloh really didn’t want to get into it right now though. She was also of the mind of not speaking ill of the dead – except in circumstances where the person absolutely deserved it – and her dad wasn’t a terrible person at the end of the day. He had been lost. And it had been like that for a long time. Shiloh listened quietly, smiling as her sister described the evolution of her relationship. That was an odd way of thinking of it, but with the way Cal talked about it, how could anyone not view it as that? The slow, methodical step-by-step eventually ended up where it was. About as natural of a relationship development as possible. Cal seemed to be unbelievably happy, so clearly it had worked out perfectly. A far cry from the absurdity that entailed Hogwarts relationships. The worst had been third and fourth year, where ‘couples’ lived and died by the hours of the day. Very few had survived until now. Having a positive example in her life was good to learn from. ”I know that,” Shiloh rolled her eyes jokingly. ”It just seems like I’m constantly being inundated with it. Being left out over my own choices feels sort of weird, that’s all.” But Cal was right. Finishing up her exams with solid marks, especially after the last few days, and moving on to the next thing was definitely more important. It was ridiculous to think that anyone would find their one true love at Hogwarts. Especially if it was as something absurd like being Potions partners or enemies to lovers on the Quidditch Pitch. That was pure fiction, told better by the silly smut writers of the internet, like DarksideOfDiagon. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0
