Festival of Calan Mai
Date: 29th April to 1st May
Date: 29th April to 1st May
Spring has sprung at Alohomora, and to celebrate the season of fertility, longer days, and shorter nights, Calan Mai, or May Day is being celebrated! The festival celebrations will take place in the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains in Wales. Yurts and tents will be available for the full duration for witches and wizards across the world to fully immerse themselves in this celebration, drawn from the history of Druid culture. As this is a privately hosted event, all magical folk are welcome including werewolves, goblins, and veela.
Festivities include the following across the three days, culminating in an all-night feast to welcome the start of May:
- May Pole dancing
- Nightly bonfires and divination readings
- May Bush decorations with hawthorne and mayflowers to symbolise rebirth
- Elderberry and rhubarb wine tastings supplied by Druid wineries
- Storytelling workshops focusing on Celtic lore
- Traditional performances by expert crwth players along with fiddlers and flautists
- Advice and opportunities to make offerings to Druid shrines and be blessed
