Sav wasn’t sure how he would still be alive if it weren't for his mom. He used to resent her being around all of the time when he was a student at Hogwarts. He hated that he could barely get away with anything without her finding out immediately and punishing him and his friends for whatever trouble they were getting into (or attempting to get into). But the last few years had changed that. The last few years had changed everything. Sav sat on a bench by the center of the small town as the twins chased a butterfly up and down the lane. Sav wasn’t even sure that it was the same butterfly that they had started chasing. There were so many around right now, enjoying the fresh flowers and the early summer weather. School had just ended and Sav knew his mother had more free time again, so he asked her to hang out in Hogsmeade with them that day. He was pretty sure she wouldn’t turn down the opportunity to see her grandkids, or her son. Not to mention it was still close to the 2 year anniversary since they lost Shreya, and she was weighing heavy on his mind lately. parvati patil macmillan

Summer 2028 The challenges that came with losing a child never really went away, even as day-to-day life at Hogwarts and in Parvati's personal life had returned to a new normal. She had the joy of being a grandmother to Sav's own set of twins, now toddlers, and relished every opportunity she had to see them and (of course) her son. With the year at Hogwarts having come to a close for all but the LIFE students who chose to take extra courses into the summer, Sav had invited her into Hogsmeade to spend time with him and his children, and Parvati was looking forward to it, as she always did. Though she had been concerned about Sav's becoming a father himself at such a young age, he was doing remarkably well, and she was proud of how well he had stepped up to deal with everything that had been thrown his way.
As usual, it didn't take Parvati long at all to get to Hogsmeade from the Hogwarts grounds. The school had expanded considerably, but its location hadn't changed, keeping the village's status as an ideal meeting point for students and staff alike. It also made for an ideal spot to chase butterflies, apparently, as she saw her two little grandchildren were doing as she walked nearer to the bench on which Sav was sitting.
It was wonderful to see Ollie and Minnie enjoying themselves, and Parvati smiled at the sight of their playing. She was sure that her presence would distract them from their fun, at least for a little while, and so she stayed back for a moment to watch them. Parvati didn't know if the twins or Sav would notice her there first, but her smile grew. "Having fun, darlings?" she asked, laughing gently.
