To take me home AND SHOW ME THE SUN Teddy ran a hand over his face. One day, his beard would finally fill in and not exist as this scraggly mess—at least, that’s what his gran thought it was. She was the tidiest woman he knew, and thanks to her, Teddy was one of the few boys at Hogwarts who could easily fold his socks with a flick of his wand by his seventh year. While not overly tidy himself, he hardly lets too much of a mess form before dealing with it. But Teddy had sought change. Which, as a metamorphagus, shouldn’t have been too much of a surprise. However, he’d opted for a darker shade of blue these days for his hair.
On this latest trip, Teddy went to Latin America for the first time. The humidity was awful, but the sights and culture were absolutely amazing. His sketchbook was full of quick sketches and other drawings from his time there. And, of course, he earned his pay with the Museum and returned with a few interesting items. True to form, Teddy began making his rounds as he always did when returning home from abroad. Near the top of his list was a visit to the Potter home, his home away from home for his entire life.
Pushing open the door carefully, Teddy stuck his head inside and waited to hear any commotion. Perhaps James and Lily were torturing poor Albus again, or Lily got ahold of candy again. But it was relatively calm—something he rarely said about a home with Weasley relations in it. ”Harry?” Maybe Harry was home. He’d love to catch up with him. Finally, Teddy entered carefully, closing the door behind him. ”Hello?” There was a chance they could’ve been at The Burrow, which would’ve been Teddy’s next stop regardless. But considering it was early summer, it was just as likely there was a backyard game of quidditch in the neighborhood somewhere.

It was the summer holidays and Ginny was glad. Her family was smaller of course. Nowhere near the size of what she had grown up with the extended family sure it ab out evened out, but their home in Godric's Hollow was much smaller, less bursting at the seams than she was used to. It was always gorgeous having the kids home from school for their summer holidays. Now all three of them were at Hogwarts, James even nearly finished, in term times she found the house too quiet. Boring even, it was likely the reason she had thrown herself into work so much over the last few years, or why herself and Harry spent so much time at the pub. She adored them being home. She bounded off their energy and love the way they were bustling around, even if they did spend much less time at home these days than they used to. It was the off season in work, but things were due to ramp up again after the summer. It was difficult to take any time off these days; she had finally worked her way up to the top dog in the office after years slogging away on and off at the Daily Prophet. This upcoming season would be her first in the drivers seat and she had a lot to prove. And yet, here she was, a day off in the middle of the week. It was too bad her kids were teenagers with their own social lives and didn't care to actually do anything with her, despite her best efforts. Even her darling husband was nowhere to be found. It was late afternoon and the longer stretches of sun beams still made their way through the glass patio and crept over the kitchen floor where Salt and Pepper lounged in the heat, the wooden floor cold enough on their rotund bellies. She sighed quietly at them, still smiling as she moved to get a glass of water. She needed to talk to HARRY JAMES POTTER about the amount of treats he gave them, and put them on some sort of daily limit. She was leaning against the counter, sipping from her glass when she heard the front door open. She rose to stretch around the corner and see who it was almost immediately. Maybe one of them was back for the day. But no, it wasn't anyone she was expecting. The shock of blue hair was darker, but of course she'd recognise it anywhere. "Teddy!" beaming, she had barely set the glass on a safe bit of counter before she bounded down the hall and launched herself at him to pull him into a tight embrace "My darling boy, how are you?!" mumbling against him, she couldn't stop smiling. This was a surprise, but definitely a very pleasant one. She held onto him a little tighter than she normally would have, but loosened her grip of him eventually. It had been too long. Of course James was her oldest biological son, but Edward Lupin was different. Remus Lupin's son and Harry's Godson. He had a special place in her heart that she didn't know she had, before him and the kids. He was the one that allowed her to realise it was there. His Grandmother had done the raring for the most part, but Teddy always knew he had a place in this house; in the extended family. "It's just me today sadly. Everyone has better things to do today I guess..." standing for a moment she watched him, smiling like an idiot, plainly delighted to see him. "Sorry, Merlin, come in!" stepping back she reached for his arm and pulled him towards the kitchen, now launching into full mother hen mode. She hated how much like her mother she had become, even if she didn't fully realise it yet. But all the same, fussing over him would put her more at ease. "When did you get back? Do you want a drink? A snack?" opening the fridge she frowned as steady eyes surveyed it, her own hoodlums had mostly emptied it she was due a shop truth be told, but there was a few things that could be pulled together if he did want something. "A beer or anything even?" a mischievous grin lit up her figures as an eyebrow rose and she glanced back to him. edward remus lupin

To take me home AND SHOW ME THE SUN It took a moment for a sign of life to appear. But Teddy grinned wildly at seeing his Aunt Ginny. She helped Harry when Teddy was younger and treated him as much as she would her children. He felt the Potters were like a second family. Their presence in his life was something he was incredibly grateful for. Every time he came over to the house, a lot felt different. James was now a bit taller than Teddy, and he towered over Ginny and Lily. Hugging her back tightly. ”I’m well, how are you? Where is everyone?”
Teddy let Ginny pull him to the kitchen. It was familiar whenever Teddy visited his adopted extended family. Everyone went into a parental mode around him. ”Day before last.” He answered. The previous day, he’d spent resting and visiting with his grandmother. It was a solid rule in his book, and he ensured he did if he ever had the opportunity to visit. Plus, he wanted to show her the charmed postcard he had gotten for her little collection. One of the Cursebreakers the museum had hired to assist with artifacts helped Teddy with the enchantment—well, he’d done it entirely, and Teddy provided moral support.
”No, thank you. Gran wouldn’t let me leave without a proper meal.” In this case, a second breakfast because, since Andromeda had not witnessed Teddy’s alleged breakfast, he could not have eaten. ”A beer would be nice, thanks.” After a few years, Teddy didn’t feel as if he was sneaking alcohol anymore. Even after he’d come of age he might as well have been fourteen sneakily trying fire whiskey with Victoire. ”How’s life?”
