Oliveira Home
Oliveira Home
Apart from the T-shirt signed by Mickey McLaggen that she had managed to score for Sebastian through no real effort of her own, Christmas, as usual, had been a bust. The full moon hadn't ruined the holiday, but Sarah felt that would have made for a good excuse not to have to deal with her family. Sarah had never been happier to have her own place and an Apparition license, because she was pretty certain that she would have lost her mind if she had to spend the night at her parents', too. She could only take so much of the annual Oliveira theatrics, and she was thankful that she had never been the "responsible one" of her siblings to be expected to hold everyone together.
By the time Boxing Day rolled around, Sarah had lost track of everything that had happened, but her mother's drunkenly walking out on the rest of them on Christmas Eve was up there on the list of things that had gone wrong. It definitely wasn't enough to alert the Ministry, and she just assumed that her mother would return home at some point Christmas night. She was an adult; she wasn't in any real danger, and she probably needed some time to herself.
Sarah decided to go back to her parents' house when she woke up to nothing from her sisters or father about her mother's return. The full moon wasn't until New Year's Eve, which meant that wouldn't be an issue for a few more days. Knowing her, Sarah thought, she'd show up again well before then. Either that, or she had gone to Claustrum de Lupus or someplace and would be back after the full moon.
Letting herself inside, Sarah saw no signs of anything's having changed, but it seemed that everyone else was still asleep.
