PERSONALITY sarcastic, honest, stubborn, resilient, witty, judgemental, intelligent and occasionally selfish. after saffron's death, archer also became rather withdrawn. raised as somewhat of a middle child, archer possesses various qualities and flaws. his honesty is both a blessing and a curse, as it often shifts on brutal truth-telling, sometimes lacking in tact. despite his sharp tongue, archer has always been known for his intelligence, always passing with flying colours during his days in hogwarts and his potion class. this same intelligence has continued to help him in his later life no doubt. though, despite his charms and easy conversations, archer's sarcasm does get the best of him in times...as well as in trouble too. however, even with his resilience, archer is rather stubborn and tends to disagree fast, even if the point or concern at hand might be different from what he believes. this stubbornness often leads him to make decisions quickly or gathered from what he knows, rather than a sensible choice or approach, causing friction in his relationships. archer can also be rather judgemental and selfish. while he acknowledges both of these traits, he has made no effort to change, the same kind of traits picked up from his father and mother no less. following saffron's death, archer grew rather withdrawn, keeping to himself most times and only communicating with those around him and others that he cared for. after pretty much disappearing between june 2023 and 2024, without a trace or even a goodbye, this trait developed somewhat negatively. now archer truly only cares for his best friends: rhys, flossie, juni and nell. and some..other exceptions. [fraternal twin] - secret twin sister HISTORY late into the night of christmas 1999, cries radiating from twins - both boy and girl - were heard. born precisely eight minutes before his younger sister, jude sinclair archer was born. the archer family was far from a typical small family most would meet, already having two other fraternal twins wandering in the family home. though, unbeknownst to jude, was his mother's affair with another man. of course, cygnus' rage grew as the months passed, but what neither leda or cygnus expected on that christmas night, was the real father demanding at least one child to raise as his own. in a state of bemusement and arguments no less, it was quietly decided that the daughter would be given and there would be no more talk about it. the house elves were hushed, threatened to be beaten or shamed if any chitter left the archer household past that night. like most family secrets, nothing was dare spoken upon. and so life continued as 'normal'. jude was raised alongside his older siblings, and even excitedly welcomed his younger sisters, one after the other. even as years passed, there was still no word about his real father or his own twin sister past the night of their birth. though, it was funny, considering jude resembled their mother and nothing like cygnus... raised in a family of wealth and pure blood purity, jude learned the 'importance' of class, and determining what values a man should look and seek out for in the future. but just as a small boy, aged no more than ten, jude didn't know what he wanted. he was excited to potentially receive his schooling letter, no doubt, but he hadn't thought much about his future - just as the next child. at age eleven, jude received his letter to enrol into hogwarts. and with september 2011 arriving, jude was swept away by the train, sitting anxiously with his older siblings who had already been enrolled. sitting rather confused as a large hat was placed upon his head, jude felt joy as the sorting hat yelled out 'RAVENCLAW'. throughout his time in hogwarts, jude grew - finding his own individuality. finding more comfort being called by his last name, it grew quickly as a nickname. and before archer knew it, everyone had seemingly forgotten who jude sinclair was. it was simply archer. archer grew as a boy, and quickly into a young man, he kept to himself most times, keeping just a few friends like florence fortescue (flossie) and eventually eleanor ollivander, after becoming her potions partner in their sixth year. quiet and determined, archer found his passion within potions. he remained more observant than outspoken, but he wasn't afraid to step on a few toes whenever the occasion called for it. working on his skills and getting his parents off his back about his future, archer was determined to become a curse breaker. the challenge of it all and the interest of curses was his reason to get out of his family home. there was nothing truly wrong, but it felt suffocating at times. with graduation coming around in 2018, archer immediately went off to curse breaker training. it was at the social summer event where he finally became accompanied with his hogwarts alumni, rhys greyback and saffron grimstone. the trio easily bonded, becoming the best of themselves as they took on tasks together. life remained like this for years. the three of them always coming together to take on a new task, putting up with and listening to rhys' grumbles about his relationship with juniper, dealing with rhys' constant bar fights and the odd suspension here and there, as well as daily/weekly drinks amongst friends. merlin, archer even lost a bet to saffron and got a tattoo along the way. that was until june 2023. archer doesn't recall much of what happened, aside from blinking once in the midst of their usual curse break mission and the second time waking up in the middle of st. mungos. no one knows what happened or why it happened, except from the fact that their best friend saffron was gone. it took a toll on archer, in a way he didn't quite understand himself back then and following saffron's funeral and even archer's medical leave, he couldn't deal with it anymore. the constant question and the chase of his memories in his dreams. so he left. for a year, he never stayed put in one place for longer than a fortnight. archer didn't bother to contact anyone aside from nell ollivander, sending the odd postcard with no message attached simply to let her know he was alive. not well, but just alive. by june 2024, archer temporarily returned to the uk, standing a little taller but more reserved and withdrawn compared to before. of course, he didn't let many know of his return, but he soon returned to curse breaking alongside rhys. despite this, archer was always in and out of the country, especially when things got a little...much. by 2028, after being convinced by rhys and juniper, archer took up a..teacher/trainer role at LIFE, helping and training trainee curse breakers. at first, there was no joy in it, considering archer felt like he was far from teaching material, but he eventually lightened up to the role. between march and june, he helped with 2nd year trainee cursebreakers and by the summer, he taught advanced classes alongside rhys. in more recent days, archer travels in and out of the country whenever he wishes, but he has remained a curse breaker. he's now a senior cursebreaker like rhys, but works alongside less experienced others too. SITE EVENTS REACTION like many others, archer dealt with all kinds of events in various ways. archer mainly kept to himself whenever news broke out about one thing to the next, sharing his condolences whenever he could. although, the one event that impacted him the most - aside from one of his best friend's death of course - was particularly hags fever. as while he was out of the country at the initial start, it meant he couldn't return to his home until the end of the quarantine. because of this, archer settled elsewhere, helping dahlia's curse breaker training in order to help refine her skills. the destruction and repairs to hogwarts during 2026-27 also meant he had to provide training elsewhere for curse break trainees, but it didn't stop archer in terms of his career by any means.
