PERSONALITY Ella Marie is quite the complex puzzle. While kind in nature, she has a quick temper that is triggered by a high moral compass. When faced with an injustice or a moral conundrum, especially regarding her peers or elders, she can be quite outspoken and feisty. Lawful Good, would be her paradigm if she were to consider it carefully. Although she is outspoken in circumstances of justice or morality, Ella is more of an introvert. Preferring her books and academics to the company of others. Though she never dismisses the prospect of an intellectual conversation or two when they come about. A closet artist, the young Ravenclaw has a knack for painting. Her attention to detail rivals that of many historical artists, preferring to paint renaissance era styles with a touch of emotion that reflects the things she may be experiencing in her own mind. Like many young women, Ella struggles with depression and anxiety. Most of which she developed from the pressures of her family and expectation to be extraordinary in life. A touch of early trauma thrown in and its a recipe for mental woes. A hopeless romantic at heart, Ella dreams of that fairytale kind of love that knocks the wind from your chest and your feet from under you. With its earliest descended male dating back to the early 1300's. With roots in Scotland and England, the Everleigh line is one of untarnished purity with each and every member of magical blood. Leander (the families founder), saw to it that each of his descendants married and procreated with other magical bloodlines, sewing the seeds of purity importance to every one of them. And so that seed grew into a forest, larger than he ever could have foreseen. Each male in the Everleigh line has sought for a career as an Unspeakable, finding the research of magic to be of the upmost importance. It also helped them in their underground criminal career in trafficking magical artifacts. Everleigh men have been moving and selling magical artifacts since Leander. It was how their estate and fortune grew to staggering heights, nearing that of near royalty. Dark or not, it mattered little to the family as long as the money and the information was flowing. Information was power, and Leander learned that in his early years, making sure to teach that pursuit to his children, and they continued it for centuries. Meticulously and carefully. Until Orpheus. Everleigh's have been associated with dark wizards for decades, notable supporters of Voldemort and his pursuit to keep the magical world pure of muggles and their filth. In more recent events, the family chose to keep out of the conflict of the Purifiers, finding their near downfall during the second wizarding war with the Dark Lord to be too close of a call to risk associating with another pointless conflict. In recent years, they have been more reserved, choosing self preservation over politics. However, they have no qualms with selling to those associated with vigilante groups. Orpheus II would have been the male descendant to inherit what Leander started, however, his addiction to alcohol and his need to inflate the large ego he had was too big of a risk for his father to take. It was declared instead that his youngest and only other heir would be named his successor over Orpheus. When the news became common among the family, he was filled with rage and disgust, finding that if his younger brother were no longer in the picture, his father would have no choice but to rethink his decision. Along with a few of his loyal friends, he hatched a plan to murder Bartholomew, his wife Jane, and their son Barty II (who was only two years old at the time), in order to reverse the line of succession. He planned to carry out the murder himself, with no intentions of taking the fall for his crimes. Hence the need of his 'friends' and a hell of a lot of memory enchantments. Unfortunately for Orpheus, one of his loyal band had flipped sides, trading his knowledge of the plan for a substantial amount of money. Orpheus was then framed by the patriarch and his younger brother. He was arrested for not only the attempt on their lives, but was also charged with trafficking illegal magical artifacts and known association with Lord Voldemort. During the attack on Azkaban, however, in 2024, Orpheus escaped his prison and is now on the run. It is assumed he is with his wife Clara, who has been harboring a fueling hatred for the family since her husbands arrest, and rumors are flying that he is planning revenge against them in a substantial way. So far, the rumors are just that. However, they are taking every precaution to keep their family safe and unaffected while trying to track in down. Bartholomew and Jane went on to have quite the brood of children. Ella Marie Everleigh was born the middle daughter in a slew of siblings. She is also the only Everleigh to ever be placed outside of Slytherin house, and have the moral compass of a saint. She is everything opposite of her family, aside from maybe her temper and disdain for being talked down to or questioned. While the rest of her siblings follow in line to their roles, Ella shy's away from them, hoping to carve her own path in life. She would have attended Hogwarts at the age of eleven, however, the year before Hag's fever had spread across the isles, causing a mass quarantine. Her mother, absolutely distraught with fear of losing one of them to the illness, closed their estate immediately and decided to keep them home as long as the threat was even whispered on the horizon. So instead of going to Hogwarts for her first year, she was homeschooled...which she hated. All their 'classes' involved the same things she'd been learning since she was a young child. Etiquette and manners. How to attracted wealthy and respectable purebloods and how to behave as a wife and blah blah blah. Ella hated every second she was forced to be in close quarters with her family. Just as her mother was starting to get used to the idea that her kids were safe leaving her side and their estate, the unthinkable became reality and Hogwarts was destroyed, taking with it Ella's older brother Tristan. Tristan had been kept at Hogwarts during the year of Hag Fever, finding it safe for him to be there than risk travel. Their family hadn't seen him for nearly two years, and was preparing for his homecoming when they got the news that he had been a casualty of the explosion of fiendfyre. At eleven years old, during what should've been the most exciting year of her life, Ella was in mourning and terrified to go to Hogwarts. During the following year, she remained in homeschooling, learning the basics of magic while still maintaining a focus of a proper lady. Ella resented her mother for picking up as though they hadn't just suffered an immeasurable trauma and found a voice in speaking out against their lack of mourning and emotion towards the entire situation. Not only for the loss of her brother, but the loss of the lives of other children, the loss of her experience of Hogwarts and what she robbed of, the chaos that was sure to follow and the lack of empathy her parents had for anyone but themselves and their precious family line. It all infuriated her. Nearing her thirteenth birthday, word was spreading that Hogwarts would be reopened, however, it was to be reinvented into a new kind of education system. One that Ella was excited, yet apprehensive to become part of. When she brought the news to her parents and siblings, they all shared the same reaction. It was too dangerous. They prioritized their own preservation over their daughters necessity to branch out from their grasp. It was with the final say of her grandfather that she would not attend, that Ella stopped her pleading. The idea of going to Hogwarts terrified her, and had since her brothers death. But the idea of being trapped by her family, scared her even more. Another year went by, and another years she felt like she was suffocating. During the summer before what would be her fourth year, she spoke privately with her grandfather, pulling at the necessity of networking as a young member of the family to keep pure lines associating with the younger generations, and to her surprise, she won her case. While it infuriated her mother, Orpheus had declared she and her younger siblings, would go back to normalcy and attend Hogwarts. She is coming into her new school as a fourth year student, both terrified and excited to see what lies ahead. SITE EVENTS REACTION For many of the site events, Ella was under the age of ten. However, she did hear things through the family network of the Purifiers and what they were doing, which led her to have a great deal of moral anxiety over the world, even at a young age. She tried to speak against it to her family, but was always shut down about the matter. During Hag Fever, because of her mothers paranoia and precaution, they went by fairly unscathed by the matter. However, they were hit with an unimaginable pain of death during Hogwarts destruction, and that left a fatal mark on Ella. She carries a lot of depression, anxiety, and discontent over the entire situation, having never been taught to grieve properly over what happened. She is coming into the world outside of her family completely unprepared and unexpecting. WANT AD
