The day of the Vector summer party had finally arrived. Scottie couldn’t be more excited. For weeks he was looking forward to seeing his mates and having the opportunity to show off to his classmates. The Vectors were known for being stupid rich so this was his time to prove it. He had no shame in his game. Being a snooty rich mummy's boy wasn't the worst thing in the world to be called.
People arrived earlier than expected, eager to get in the pool and kick off the festivities. The scorching sun hung high above the blue sky making the pool more inviting than ever. Some girls in the pool catcalled Scottie, splashing him as he strut by like a peacock in his skimpy little swim shorts that Sammy called a lil slaggy. Scottie passed the girls some jelly shooters they eagerly accepted. One of his American friends requested them, raving they tasted like 'candy' and would get everyone smashed, so he obliged.
After passing out a round of melted Jelly shooters he rewarded himself for being a good host with two back-to-back, successfully staining his tongue red. Scottie looked around for Sammy and/or Theo, even Tilly, but didn't see either of them. The yard was massive, impossible to see every party goer due to all the magical hedges. Instead, he locked eyes on Reina, Idele's friend. He knew that his sister would be pissed if he interacted with her, which made the quest more rewarding. Reina was a year older and admittedly very cute because she was a little nerdy and "fun sized" in stature, so he had nothing to lose. Nothing was more dangerous than a young man with nothing to lose.
Stepping over to the shaded area, he collapsed into the chair beside her. ”Heeey, Reeei.” he smiled with a salacious twinkle in his eyes. Scottie leaned toward her in a dramatic warning, ”Watch out. All the other girls are already conspiring against you because you’re making them all look bad...” it was supposed to be more of a flattering line, but the delivery needed work, it sounded more like a warning. She was fully covered and somehow his boyish mentality was already sabotaging himself. ”Jelly shooter?” he offered as the tray floated by.

July 13, 2029 Though she missed her old school and her friends there, Reina was glad that her parents had made the decision to keep her at Hogwarts for her NEWT examinations. It would keep her from having to switch educational systems again, and transferring schools to go back to South America in the middle of the academic year at Castelobruxo wasn't her idea of fun. The people at Hogwarts were generally very nice, too, and she had been there long enough that she wasn't exactly the "new girl" anymore. She had friends, even getting an invitation to a party at the Vectors' home.
The Vector triplets were in the year below her, but Reina was friends with Idele, in particular, and didn't really care about the year divisions that much. She had been at MAGIC for her fifth year when they were in their fourth, and then she assumed that the triplets would be continuing on to LIFE for their first year of NEWT studies. They had definitely invited more than just the people who were in their year or hers, though. It was definitely the biggest party she had attended, come to think of it. Reina guessed it made sense, though. The Vectors were wealthy—almost eye-wateringly so.
That the Vectors had a swimming pool was great, however, especially with as hot as the day had turned out to be. Reina had her swimsuit on under a pair of shorts and a T-shirt, along with a pair of sunglasses atop her headbut she was pretty sure that she would be going swimming before long. It wasn't hot by the standards that she was used to back home, but it was hot for Britain.
Scottie, one of Idele's brothers, sat down near her, greeting her in a way that definitely seemed like flirting if not for the fact that he seemed to behave that way with everyone—and the girls, in particular—he came across. "Watch out. All the other girls are already conspiring against you because you're making them all look bad…"
Reina blinked. Despite being fluent in English, she wasn't sure what to make of his comment. Was that supposed to be a compliment? She hoped.
"Jelly shooter?"
Reina looked at the cups of gelatin. She was pretty sure that there was alcohol in them, but she didn't mind. She was of drinking age in the magical world, and it wasn't like any of them were at Hogwarts to get in any trouble for it.
"…Sure?" she asked, picking up one of the aforementioned shooters. She grabbed a green one, which she guessed was probably lime. Did she bite into it or try to consume it all at once?

Scottie retrieved a shooter for himself before allowing the tray to float away toward other party goers. The look on Reina's face glazed over into a more confused look after accepting the shooter. Maybe she didn't understand the compliment. To be fair, Scottie could have used some work on the delivery. Pushing his sunnies to the tip of his nose to offer her a more concerned look. "That was a compliment by the way." he assured her with shifty eyes, the corners of his lips slipping into a crooked smile. Scottie raised the shooter to Reinas, "Bottoms up" he knocked the shooter back, the red jello instantly staining his smile blue.
"How's your summer holiday been so far, Rei?" he asked, an attempt to chat her up as he draped across the chair leisurely.

July 13, 2029 Seeing her confusion, Scottie confirmed to her that he had just complimented her on her looks. Between not recognizing it as a compliment at first and then having it hit her a moment later, Reina could feel her cheeks getting warmer, though at least the weather could have been to blame, too.
"Bottoms up," he announced in relation to the gelatinous creation she was holding in a cup in her hand. Reina waited long enough to make sure that she was going to consume it properly, lest she embarrass herself again. Luckily, she was pretty sure that she ate (or was it drank?) it without incident. It was undoubtedly lime—and slightly weird, but it wasn't terrible.
"How's your summer holiday been so far, Rei?" Scottie then asked her.
"Good, yeah," she answered him. It was nice not to be in school for a little while. "And yours? Happy to be finished with your OWLs?"

The heat of the sun radiated off his skin, a tell tale sign he'd have to reapply suncream soon. Scottie watched at the tint to Reinas cheeks amplify, he couldn't tell if she was uncomfortable, so he'd let it go. She was one of his sisters best mates so he didn't want to be a creep. Scottie knocked back another Jello shooter as the tray floated by, listening as Reina shared that her summer was good. He bobbed his head to show that he was practicing active listing skills, shrugging as she asked how his summer had been. "It's been good, I just get a bit stir crazy sometimes because I miss playing quidditch...but sleeping in is nice." he shared. As if he didn't sleep in at school most of the time already...
An awkward silence broke between them as the snake looked at her with a slow spreading smile. He looked behind his shoulder to make sure his sister wasn't watching with her eagle eyes before leaning in and slyly asking, "Wanna play mermaids?" There was a playful twinkle in his eye that made it hard to tell if he was joking or not. To be honest, Scottie wasn't sure if he was serious or not.. it mostly depended on her answer.
