as he moved to hug abby back he nodded a little at what she was saying. he didn't like the fact that a group such as this needed to happen again. couldn't people just learn to live with each other? okay so maybe everyone wasn't destined to get along but surley killing was a little over the top and was bound to just make people mad. which it had done. from his spot in the room he stayed quiet as he watched people slowly congregate into the room. he didn't really know how to break into the conversation but he figured when the time came he'd be able too. he didn't have any ideas on anything they could do at the moment so he was a little pressed as to what to say anyway. though he knew one thing was for sure, he didn't want his parents to find out what they were doing. something told him they wouldn't really be pleased considering how the last time students had done this, it hadn't ended well for any of them.
he frowned a little when aurora and james walked in and he lifted his head a little. okay so it didn't sound like an accusation but it might be a pretty damn close one. he frowned a little more when he listened to aurora and he shook his head slightly. getting up from the couch he walked over to stand next to her, the opposite side to james. she might not be his family and he might not have known her all that well, but they were living under the same roof as each other when they were back home and that meant something to him. he had spent enough time around her to know that he trusted her and she deserved the same protection that he'd give his older sister or anyone else that he cared about. "you don't have to prove anything aurora, okay?" he asked, glancing around the room to see if anyone would protest that. he hoped they wouldn't, they were here to work together weren't they? not blame someone just because it was convenient. "if people have an issue with you being here because of what they think, then their free to leave, right abby?" he spoke, looking at her from across the room. "it might not even be a student, there's a possibility that it's a teacher isn't there?"

Holly was definitely not happy with herself. She was late! She was more than dedicated to the valiant cause of Phoenix Rising, and here she was being late for one of the meetings. Obviously, she didn't want to look bad in front of her fellow Rising members nor did she want to miss any relevant information, or be an inconvenience to anyone having to relay that information to her.
But she would rather be late than not attend. So Holly did whatever was needed to gain entrance into the Room of Requirement, knowing what room to expect and which people to expect as well. When she entered, she hastily entered and closed the door as quietly as she could behind her before facing everyone else in the room. "Hey guys. I'm really sorry for coming in late." She went to stand somewhere close to Aurora, Jayden, and James. She heaved a sigh, ready to get snapped at, but she thought it was a relevant question if she was going to be here at all. "Is there anything I missed? I'm sure I have, seeing as you all are discussing about some things..."

So, they were going to clear her sisters name, were they? She thought there was enough proof, at least now, of her sisters innocence. Still, this idea to find out who actually did it wasn't bad at all. In fact, it got Andy pretty excited. She was standing in the common room about don't minutes before the meeting was to start, tapping her foot impatiently as she waited for Phil to come out. "Philip! Hurry up!" She called up the stairs to the boys dormitory.
Once he arrived, the two of them headed toward the room of requirement. They slipped in as Aurora was explaining the imperious curse. Andy didn't move to stand beside her at this point, but hung back by the door. "Looks like Ror's got plenty of back up," she muttered to Phil, commenting on James Potter and her new sort of brother, Jayden, flanking Aurora on both sides.
She did speak up when Jay suggested that the culprit could indeed be a teacher. "I think that's worth looking into, Jayden, but I also feel like a teacher may have been more... subtle. This person has a certain dramatic flair. Still, I guess 'you-know-who' was pretty dramatic even as an adult..." she said, trailing off a little bit. She didn't say the Dark Lords name. Why? Because it had been used to loosely in her family that she didn't want anything to do with it, even if she was speaking ill of him.

Phil felt really bad for being a little late with completing his homework. He had been stuck on a particular assignment, but by the time he was done he had Andy waiting on him and the meeting might have commenced already. Even if he might have held Andy up, he was glad that she decided to go with him. She was pretty much the closest person to him besides Jayden, Neville, and Hannah. "Coming, coming!" he said as he ran down the stairs to reach the Common Room. From there they set out to the Room of Requirement.
This was an important cause to him. They were finally going to find the real culprit who was definitely not Aurora. Aurora was one of the sweetest people he knew and Phil, who was not violent in any sense, felt like he wanted to squish his knuckles into the face of any idiots who accused Rory of such sins that were not hers. Phil knew that Andy must be as driven as he was to clearing up her sister's name, too. Even if Andy and Rory hadn't been really close to each other when they first joined the Longbottom household, he was sure that the sisters cared for one another more than they knew.
And then they entered the Room of Requirement. Already there were students he recognized, including the perfect Slytherins. But his focus was on his brother Jay, James, and Aurora; and, of course, Andy. "I don't think anyone in their right mind would dare to say anything against her," he murmured in agreement with Andy. James and Jay looked pretty protective. He then listened to what Jay and Andy said. True, it can be anyone. This was going to be really hard, finding out who the culprit was. But teens were just as intelligent, critical, analytical, and smart as adult aurors were. Phil hoped that he could be that to help out Phoenix Rising, even if he felt far from that. Yet, even if he doubted himself, he was still compelled to say what was on his mind.
"Perhaps we should also think about those who sport...erratic or strange behavior?" He bit his lip; he could only think up of creepy people like Berengaria (@berengaria) and Elaine in that category. Blood purity was the issue at hand, obviously, but if he said that they ought to suspect the children of former death eaters or blood supremacists, he'd be pointing at Andy, Aurora, and Scorpius, which was not exactly right at the moment. At least, he wasn't going to state that idea in front of everyone, although he was sure he could talk about it freely with Andy in private. As for the weird behavior stuff...he wasn't one for talking about touchy subjects, but meetings were about presenting all ideas and thoughts to each other.
"I don't mean to be jump into conclusions, but I'm thinking of Berengaria Flint. She mostly keeps to herself and rarely talks to anyone, but there's something unnerving about her character. She seems icy and cold toward everyone. Maybe she could be secretly harbor dark thoughts and ideas while being distant. She's also pretty smart, I believe, so I could imagine that she would find a way get away with a murder like that." He tightened his fingers into a fist. It was hard blatantly talking so accusatory of someone, especially when the reason was because said person wasn''t friendly. He felt like a drunken gossiper in a tavern, but he wanted to be honest with his suspicions. And the reason he thought that Berengaria was smart was, well, for one, the reason why she was in Slytherin. Cunning and wily. She also seemed to pay attention in class, but academics were a different thing. Her motive? Well, he could only think about who her mother was, but if he pointed that out then that would, again, be like pointing suspicion at other people in this room who's parents were either formerly bad or currently bad. But then, how were they to talk about her motives for doing that heinous action--if she was the one who did it?
He glanced at the door when Holly came in. She asked what was going on; Phil brusquely told her that they were talking about possible suspects, it seemed, before he turned to look at everyone else again.

(ethan needed another thread so... sorry not sorry xD)
Ethan wasn't planning to just sit in the Hospital Wing bleeding to death while a bunch of people got together trying to figure out who the killer was. Even though Ethan couldn't tell them who attacked him, or really give any clues at all, he still wanted to be there. He was bandaged up to near mummy status, but he didn't care. He wasn't supposed to be leaving the Hospital Wing... but he had been in there for a week and wasn't going to sit there any longer. No, he needed to try and lead these guys in the right direction.
Slipping out of the Hospital Wing wasn't easy, but he managed to summon a wheelchair toward him and slip onto it. Getting to the fifth floor was a problem all it's own...
As he crept along the first floor, he heard footsteps coming toward him and he stopped, rolling back to hide behind a pillar. "I know you're there, Ethan. You're terrible at sneaking around," a familiar female voice met his ears and he rolled out from his hiding spot. @delisle stood there, hands on her hips, eyebrow raised and hip popped to the side, "you're not trying to sneak into that meeting, are you?" she spoke quietly, in case someone was nearby and unseen.
Ethan shrugged, "help me?" he smiled.
---
After some fanangling and fancy spellwork Ethan, the wheelchair, and Masin were on the fifth floor. Masin stepped behind Ethan, pushing the wheelchair through the door right as Philip finished his speech and gave her own smug smile as Ethan, slowly, lifted a hand and gave a little wave to the group before him.

If Carcer hadn't spoken to her, Alice would most likely be cooped up in her dormitory right now, being miserable about what was going on at that blasted meeting... But as it was, Carcer had told Alice that she should come to the meeting. Alice took quite some time to consider this, and in the end she decided that if Carcer was going to be there then perhaps it wouldn't be all that bad. However as she walked up to the fifth floor from the dungeons, she had felt like turning around and running back to her four poster. There was no doubt in her mind that James would be there and after their fight, Alice wasn't sure if she could face him just yet. But Carcer's words kept her pushing on. A part of Alice didn't want to be angry anymore; she wanted to to show James that she didn't care. Even though she did, a lot.
Alice slipped into the Room of Requirement, hoping to really go unnoticed. She was relieved to see that Carcer was already there and immediately darted through the rest of the students and went to seat herself next to him. She looked around at the others. Everyone she saw she had expected to be here. It surprised her only slightly that Abigail Shacklebolt was leading the group. Alice stayed fairly quiet as everyone discussed their worries, concerns, and ideas. It was weird hearing all of this. Alice never thought that her generation would face an evil like her parents' had. Alice was present for when Moreta Jaeger spoke up. Alice didn't have a personal opinion about the girl other than she was a Ravenclaw. She said something about Slytherins to which the Malfoy boy protested. Alice didn't know what to believe personally. She figured that a Slytherin would have been everyone's first choice, and to be honest she wasn't even sure now how the rumor that Aurora had done it was guilty.
When Abby mentioned Carcer being right, (Alice had missed his part of the conversation,) she glanced up at him and smiled slightly. Her next words made Alice's head snap to face her. Her brow furrowed slightly and she had half a mind to protest right there. But Alice couldn't bring herself to speak up in a large group of people like this. She was thankful that she didn't have to when Albus spoke up, basically saying what was on Alice's mind. Her brow relaxed and she felt more at ease that she wasn't the only one that still thought that. Then she heard the voice of the girl in question.
Aurora was there. With James. Alice felt her face harden. She seemed to make eye contact with James, who looked just as surprised to see her there at all. She quickly averted her eyes and felt her face get hot. Why had she not figured they would both show up together? Alice continued to stare down at her feet until she heard her brother's voice. Jayden was sticking up for her. Alice stared at him a moment, amazed but... a little proud. He had a bravery Alice never could have. She envied him for that. Then Alice felt guilty, because she did have an issue with Aurora being there but it wasn't just because of the rumors surrounding her name. She glanced back at James next to the Ravenclaw and then Phil's voice surprised her. She was slightly relieved that he wasn't sticking up for Aurora, but was interested in what he had to say about this Flint girl. Alice thought for a moment about the possibility that it could be another student besides Aurora. But who? She supposed she wasn't the only one thinking that just as Ethan Johnson walked in with Masin Cassopeia, one of her dorm mates. Alice's eyes widened slightly at his appearance. The bandages, the wheelchair... He had been the latest victim. Perhaps he would know something.
What happened next surprised Alice more than anything. She found herself looking at the Ravenclaw a moment longer than she normally would have before she spoke up first. "A-are you okay?"

Carcer sighed as Moreta launched into her tirade. It was all too easy to think you knew best, but you had to take a step back and see things from outside your own perspective. Sure, nobody had been caught. Sure, something needed to be done. And yeah, students sometimes heard and learned things that adults couldn’t, and anyone could luck across information. But there was a vast gap in experience between a bunch of angry teenagers looking to protect one another and seasoned Aurors. He didn’t have to argue, though—others did it for him. He also didn’t need to argue about suspecting Slytherins, with Scorpius here to defend his House. He saw both sides to that argument. On the one hand, it was extremely cruel to assume someone in Slytherin House had to be behind all this. On the other hand, it was foolish not to take history into consideration here.
He stopped listening for a moment when Alice showed up to sit down next to him. He knew she would do the right thing, no matter how annoying it was to her. He put one massive hand on her shoulder and gave it a light squeeze of encouragement. She could handle this. And they would need her too, Carcer believed that much wholeheartedly. Alice wasn’t very social. She didn’t interact with others. But she was fiercely protective at times, and like most of Hufflepuff, she was loyal beyond a doubt. She might not like many of the people here, and they might not like her. But affection and trust were two different things, and Carcer had never heard of Alice described as untrustworthy. He looked up at the mention of whether the killer could be a student or a teacher, or someone doing it without knowing. “Possession is the only way I know of to make someone do things without remembering, and that requires a very personal connection to another that can be exploited. So if the actual killer isn’t doing it on purpose, the one who’s controlling them is very close to them. Of course, they could also be using the Imperius Curse on whoever is conveniently nearby at the time and Obliviating them afterward,” he said, shrugging. As for it being a teacher…he didn’t know. Somehow he expected the adults to have to account for their locations more heavily than the students. But it was just a feeling he had, nothing more.
His attention was caught by Alice’s voice, and he turned—oof. Ethan. They said he’d be down for at least another week before they’d even consider letting him start going back to classes. Yet here he was, looking to join in on a meeting to deal with the people who’d done this to him. He smiled over Alice’s head at the Ravenclaw (and he had not missed how quickly Alice disregarded his house in light of his injuries). Ethan was one of his good friends, someone Carcer often hung out with alongside James and a few others. “No need to prove how tough you are, Johnson. I already don’t wanna mess with you.” He wouldn’t ask how Ethan was feeling. Even if it wasn’t obvious, that he was here now proved he didn’t want questions, he wanted to help with answers.

Masin recognized most of the people in the room, considering the majority were seventh years. She stepped to the side and let Ethan handle the steering of his wheelchair on his own for now. She moved to sit beside Carcer and Alice, the only others in her age and house in the room. They weren't the tightest of friends, but they were close enough that she liked being around them. She looked over at Alice as she asked if Ethan was okay. She opened her mouth as if to make some snarky comment, obviously he wasn't, but she knew that Alice had good intentions, instead, she sat silently until Carcer spoke up. "Ain't that the truth. Ethan lived through whoever is doing this stuff, so that's saying something," she continued, but then she turned to Abby with a raised eyebrow, "the only problem is, he can't tell us who hurt him."Masin watched as Marcia decided to test the theory, turning away for a moment as Ethan showed that he couldn't answer. It made her angry, and it also really freaked her out. Why couldn't he say anything? They were missing something, a big piece of the puzzle.

Scor sat up a little straighter as Al sat beside him, folding his arms across his chest and nodding, "I'm with Al on this one, it could be any house. The houses aren't nearly as divided as they used to be back in the day," he explained, "so it may even be multiple houses working together," he finished. He continued to listen as Al discussed the imperius curse and the possibility of a Ravenclaw. At the mention of them being 'supposedly the smartest in the school', Scor tensed up a little bit.
Speaking of, where was Rose?
"I agree, working out who it may not be is probably the best place to start-" Scor chimed in, but that was about the same time Ethan entered, and the conversation shifted a little to his condition. Scorpius looked to Abby, knowing that she was noting all of these conversation topics in her head and would get to them in time. It wasn't an easy job, being the group organizer and he knew Abby wasn't usually one for that sort of thing. He'd help her out if needed.
At Phils mention of Berengaria Flint, Scorp nodded in his direction, "I agree that she could be a possibility, but I'm not sure how we could go about stalking our suspects. Still, she should be added to the list. Heck, Al here should be added to the list," the last part was a joke, of course, but he went on. "I think, like Andy said," he glanced at Andy and them at Jayden for confirmation, "That a teacher can probably be ruled out and we shouldn't focus on one house," he said.

In a side moment, Moreta was introducing herself to Marcia. At the Ravenclaws question, Marcia simply shrugged, "Hey, more like he's my girly," she joked, winking at Moreta as she did so. Marcia wasn't generally one to sit back and listen, she liked to steer the conversation, but in this case she was okay with letting others take the lead. Too many people saying too many things at once wasn't going to get anyone anywhere.
As the conversation moved toward the imperius curse, Marcia turned her attention to Carcer, "Possession? How does that work, exactly?"
A few moments later, Ethan entered. She was interested in this idea that Ethan couldn't, literally couldn't, tell them who the culprit was. She raised an eyebrow at him, "So wait, let's test this-" she said, moving her legs off of Cains lap in order to move toward Ethan. She kneeled in front of him and put a hand on his, "Ethan who did this to you?" a flat out question, should be easy to answer... right?

Ethan was glad that people were still working things out as he entered the room, but wasn't surprised by the people turning to stare at him either. He grinned awkwardly as Masin stepped away from him. He nodded once in Alices direction, "well, sort of-" he said, a little chuckle escaping his lips. It was strange, knowing you weren't okay but not knowing how to admit it. He looked up at Carcer and gave him a nod and a smile. "I know, I know guys. I'm not supposed to be out and about but I couldn't let you guys deal with this without me. You have no idea what you're dealing with," he said, even though he really couldn't go into much detail then that.
He nodded his head as Masin explained that he really couldn't say anything. Could he even say that he had taken the unbreakable vow? That seemed risky, so they would just have to guess. As Marcia approached him and asked him who did that to him, Ethan took a deep breath and shook his head. "I can't. I can't tell you," he said, his hands starting to shake a little bit. He bit his lip while in his head he was screaming.
ELAINE DUPREE. Slytherin seventh year. She's killing the muggleborns. She let me live because she thought it'd be fun. She made me take the unbreakable vow, otherwise I'd be dead. He felt tears start to prick his eyes and quickly shook his head, looking back up at the others around him, "I'll help as much as I can."

Abby was trying to keep track of all the important points they were discussing and needed to hit. Blood purity, clearly and issues. Ravenclaw vendetta? Maybe, but she only knew one person who was open about that and there was no way Alice would go around killing people. The thought was laughable, and horrifying. They should only focus on one house either, even though Slytherin was common. Professors? Maybe, but Andy had a point about them not being so dramatic about it. Working out who it may not be, as suggested by Al and supported by Scorp, was something they should do as well. Thinking about those 'who sport...erratic or strange behavior', as Phil said... Abby could think of a lot of people on that list. Including herself. Lists. Lists were a thing, right? She turned away from the group for a moment as they discussed Imperius Curses and Possessions to conjure up a board behind her in which she could write lists. She was not a list person, but it seemed like this was going to be necessary to keep their heads straight. She split the list into three sections:
IMPORTANT STUFFS: -blood purity -every house is suspect -professors? -imperius/possession
SUSPECTS: -Beren Flint
-Al Potter
WHO IT ISN'T(?):
As her back was turned, the room went quite for a moment. She whipped around to see Ethan, covered in bloody bandages sporting a wheelchair. Her eyes widened for a moment, but she gave him the chance to explain himself. She added another note to the 'IMPORTANT STUFFS' section 'why can't Ethan tell us?' she turned her arm to point at the the board behind her. "So. People. Why can't he say it?" she said. "It doesn't seem like an oblivation thing. Ethan knows who it is. You can see it in his eyes," she said, looking at Ethan with her own sympathetic eyes as she did so. al rolled his eyes at scorp and reached out to flick the back of his head with a light grin when his friend mentioned that he should be on the list. "thanks mate" he said, letting the joke amuse him as he glanced back to ethan. he'd felt sorry for him when he'd heard about him getting attacked. no one deserved that, well okay maybe one or two people but that had nothing to do with this. he ran his hand through his hair and stood up from the chair. he didn't think well when he was sitting down for some reason. maybe it was a trait he'd picked up from someone in his family. his father seemed to fidget a lot. rubbing the back of his neck he had a sudden thought when abby put the question to the group about why ethan couldn't tell them who had attacked him. there was only one reason he knew that could stop someone doing something against their will like that. they all knew about them and had been told of the dangers that came from making one, and if you broke it. you died. it fit with why ethan was struggling. "because they made sure he couldn't." he said, turning back to ethan and covering the distance between them. "it was a vow wasn't it. an unbreakable one. that's why you can't tell us" he said with a frown, casting his glance to abby again. "it makes sense"

Cordelia had been told about the Phoenix Rising meeting a few days ago, but she had opted out of going in light of all that had happened with Ethan. She was on her way to the Hospital Wing to be with him when she entered and was shocked to see his bed empty. Cordie stopped dead in her tracks, eyes wide as she took a moment to herself to panic. They wouldn't move him to St. Mungo's without telling her... right? She looked around the empty room and then it hit her. Knowing Ethan, he would want to do the right thing. And considering the time and day, she knew where he thought he must be. In an instant, Cordelia turned on her heel and sprinted for the Room of Requirement.
Upon entering, she saw the room was full of students from all houses. This made her happy, but it was hard to feel anything without knowing exactly where Ethan was. She slowly began to walk around the room until she spotted Masin next to Alice Longbottom and Carcer Hagrid. She nearly jumped three steps worth to be beside her best friend, hugging onto her right arm tightly. Then she saw Ethan. He was up and walking, which had to be a good side. Though the sight of him still bruised and bandaged up was enough to render the blonde frozen and speechless.
Cordie watched Ethan with a sympathetic and sad look as the others went around the room talking about him. That was when Albus Potter said something about the Unbreakable Vow and Cordie's grip on Masin's arm tightened instinctively. She could feel tears threatening to make an appearance but willed them back, not wanting to show weakness in front of than. He was being so strong and brave, and Cordie had to be the same for him.
In the midst of it all, she wondered briefly where the Davies boy was...

Leo slowly trailed behind Zan as they made their way through the castle to the Room of Requirement. With all the recent events at Hogwarts, Leo wanted nothing more than to protect her home and her classmates...She sincerely hoped Phoenix Rising would help. She glanced up at Zander who was jabbering away in front of her, calling out to friends as they walked through the corridors. How could he be so confident and optimistic with everything that had happened? She gave a small smile, grateful that her best friend was here with her. As they approached the Room of Requirement she pushed aside her fears and boldly walked forward past Zan, casting him a glance of annoyance. ”Zander, I swear if you flirt with one more female I’m going to puke right here” she said sarcastically, to which he laughed at. That little punk she thought.
They entered the room surprised to see more people than expected. As she glanced around she spotted a few of her quidditch mates, of course Masin was here... and Ethan. The boy who had been attacked. Her heart went out to him as she looked over his bandages and bruises. Leo quietly made her way to the back of the group. Attempting to control her excitement and uneasiness trying to appear strong and confident standing among her fellow classmates. She waited for the meeting to start...
