It was a sunny day out with a nice light breeze. The gates of Hogwarts stood tall and strong. A man suddenly appeared without a sound. Normally there should have been a loud crack, but the man who had appeared made no noise at all. It was something that he had figured out how to do and passed it on to his close friends and family, and also those members of the Order of the Phoenix, and even to a couple of his Aurors. It helped to make sure on wasn't noticed. The man who stood before the gates of Hogwarts was none other than Harry Potter, the savior of the wizarding, the chosen one, or whatever it was that people recognized him as. He didn't care for the publicity, well that was a lie, he hated any type of publicity. Today though he had a meeting to attend to with the Headmaster.
Harry took out his wand and barely moved it. That slight movement opened the gates just enough for him to pass through before the closed and with another wave of his wand it was locked again. As he walked up the path leading to the school he glanced over in the direction of Quidditch Pitch and saw the Gryffindor house team practicing. He was able to spot Lily and James and it seemed that both were doing really well on the team. He was proud of both of them for making it on the team when they did. He was also happy that James was the captain of the team. As he turned his attention back towards the lake he could see Albus, his other son, the middle child. sitting under an oak tree. In fact it was the same oak tree that he had sat under with Ginny many times while they went to school here, and even after the Battle of Hogwarts they found themselves under that tree cuddling and talking, or snogging each other senseless.
Being here at the school brought back many memories for Harry. Some happy some sad. But he had dealt with the sad ones after the final battle. It took almost a year for him to stop having nightmares about it. Others had to deal with physical injuries that could mostly be healed by a simple spell or two. But the emotional and mental toll that the war had taken on everyone was tough. Harry was glad that he had Ginny by his side the entire way or he would have become very depressed. They had healed together and it made their love for one another that much stronger.
There was peace in the world until recently, when a great friend of his, Kingsley Shacklebolt, who also happened to be the Minister, had been murdered. Soon after that his Aurors were being targeted, and just recently a student had been killed on the train. It was time to bring the old crowd back together and get the Order of Phoenix up and running once again. He would need to do this if only the new minister would acknowledge everything that was happening. But no the man was acting like Fudge had when Voldemort had returned. He had even been ordered by the minister himself not to send his Aurors out to try and catch whoever it was that was doing this. But he had at least convinced the stupid man to let him station some Aurors here at the school. It was this reason, that had him hear today he needed to discuss with the Headmaster the arrangements for the Aurors that he would be sending here.
Harry knew his way around the school so well that by the time he looked up, for he had been looking down as he walked, he was standing before the Room of Requirement. Harry walked back and forth a few times thinking about what they needed. A door appeared on the wall that had been blank just a few minutes ago. Harry smirked as he opened the door. Inside he found a nice room that was perfect for their meeting. There were two chairs, a table, and a few other things that might come in hand, if they need it. Making sure that the door was locked and would only let the Headmaster in, Harry made sure that his occlumency barriers were in place and strong. He always did this before he met with anybody. Harry sat down before glancing down at his watch as he waited for the Headmaster to arrive.

Sitting at his desk the old man sealed an envelope and got up walking over to a large black and brown eagle sitting on it's perch, he attached the letter to it's leg and whispered "to the Governors" and the eagle took off, going out an window Burt opened with a snap of his fingers, and another snap the window closed as he watched the eagle soar off into the sky towards the forbidden forest area. He looked over to the clock in the corner of his office and realized that he was running late for his meeting with the Head Auror, none a less Harry Potter himself. He was no stranger to Harry's story and had met him before during his time at order meetings and also during the time the second wizarding war started. Burt had been a vocal supporter of Dumbeldore and had tried to push Fudge to believe them that Voldemort had came back, eventually having Burt lose nearly all of the influence he had in the Ministry, at that time.
He walked out of his office his silver robes swishing behind him as he moved down the stairs and past the Griffin statue guarding the entrance to his office. According to Harry he had wanted to met Burt in the Room of Requirement to make sure no would be able to listen, it did make sense. His office was on the sixth floor and the room was on the fifth floor so it was not that long of a walk and he had left the walking stick back at the office, so he was moving faster then he did with it. He had always respected Harry both while he was young, and now as an adult and as Head Auror. The position was one that Burt had held himself for five years until, his family was killed by dark wizards as revenge. After that he was second in command of the Magical Law Enforcement Department for almost two full decades. His sudden and surprising appointment to Headmaster given his only five years as a Professor, had been due to Burt's maneuverings to achieves his ambitious goals. However he knew that Harry was not one to appreciate power hungry and ambition to the level Burt possessed so he would make sure to keep his emotions and words in check.
He had finally reached the spot where the door to the room would appear, he started to think and walk back and forth just real quick and the door formed leading to the secret meeting place. Before entering through the door, Burt removed his wand and murmured a few words, and a silver mist formed over the door and then disappeared. He did trust the magic of Hogwarts and the room to protect Harry and his meeting, however he felt you could never be to safe. Spells at the school had been hoodwinked once before by dark magic. He opened the door and closed it, it quickly disappearing behind him, he started around the small room real quick. Two chairs, a table, some other items, and of course the chosen one, the boy who lived, Harry James Potter sitting in one of the chairs. His eyes of course looked at the scar on his forehead like he did when he first met him years ago. "Mr. Potter good to see you. Thank you for coming"said Burt as he took a seat in the chair across from him and started at the younger man before him. He was sure this meeting was over Auror protection for the school, and he hoped that Harry had gotten the Minister to grant it. Burt's previous meeting with the Minister a week past, ended with Burt cursing the Minister out and calling him a "big git" Tremendous git thought Burt, he looked around the room real quick once more then back to Harry. " I hope you have good news for me."said asked Burt his voice was calm, but emotionless just like his face.

Harry looked up when he heard the door open. The Headmaster came walking into the room, and even put extra protection spells on the door before it vanished. "Mr. Potter good to see you. Thank you for coming" The greeting was simple, and Harry responded in kind. "Thanks for having me here Headmaster." Harry had met the Headmaster before, since the man had been in the Order. He held a certain respect for the man but not enough to have him control of the Order since Harry knew that the Headmaster was a little power hungry, possibly more than a little.
"I do have good news. However it did take me some time to get it. Our new minister has finally agreed to having Aurors stationed here at Hogwarts." It had taken no more than a several hour meeting in which Harry along with Hermione, had been able to convince the minister that it was necessary that they add extra protection to the school. However there was a catch he was only allowed to send two Aurors at the moment. More could be added if things got worse. However he already had two Aurors there, Neville, and Walton Grey who is and International Auror. So two more would be perfect for right now. "However I am only allowed to station two Aurors here, Professor. They are among some of the best Aurors that I have. Rob Hudson and John Cain. I am not sure if you have met them before, and if not, I am sure that you have heard about them from some of the other teachers like Neville who taught them when they were here." Harry paused for a moment trying to figure out how to best phrase what he was going to say next for it concerned the Order a great deal.
He looked around the room for a second as he gathered his thoughts before turning his attention to the Headmaster. "I am starting up the Order of Phoenix once more. Those two, Rob Hudson and John Cain, will be inducted shortly before they come here." Harry sighed because he knew what he said next would probably upset the Headmaster but he had to make himself perfectly clear to make sure that there wouldn't be any problems. "I would like you to rejoin the Order and to help out like you did in the past." Harry pointed at the man. "Will you rejoin and fight once more to protect our world?"
"There is one more thing that I want to make perfectly clear, just so there is no confusion. Hudson and Cain are under my authority, since I am head of the Auror department. And while they are here aiding in the protection of Hogwarts and it's students they will take orders only from Neville Longbottom who will be in charge of the Order members and the Aurors that are here. Walton Grey, who I am sure you know is an International Auror will be the only other person that they will take orders from." Of course what he just said would make the Headmaster angry but it was the only way for things to work. Harry trusted Neville and he even trusted Walton whom he had worked with before. He also knew that Hudson and Cain would do all that they could to protect the school and students. Harry was sure that the Headmaster had his own agenda. But at the same time Harry knew that the man would do everything in his power to protect the students and the school.

So the boy who lived had been able to convince the Minister that Hogwarts should be provided Auror protection. He gave a little satisfying smile when Harry told him, however it faded a little bit when he heard he was only getting two other Aurors. He had learned from Professor Walton Grey that he was an International Auror and that Neville Longbottom, his second in command of the school, so he had those two plus the additional two Harry had just spoken off. The names he had heard before however he was not sure if he had met the Aurors before, he nodded at Harry saying they were two of his best, he believed what he was saying for he did respect the famous Harry Potter.
”Two? If it had been his family, the entire Ministry would be living in the great hall”said Burt out of the side of his mouth, his voice gave away the disgust he held for the Minister. A man who had power and influence right at his fingertips, and he does nothing, only sends two Aurors. Maybe his family does need to have a unfortunate situation thought Burt, but no that might help the Minister. He shook his head as he turned his attention back to Harry and spoke clearly ” I trust your confidence in them. “. What came next out of Harry was something, Burt knew would be coming sooner or later, that he was starting the Order of Phoenix once more. Burt stared at Harry as he asked him to rejoin the Order and help them in the new fight, he gave a little chuckle. ” Of course, third time is a charm they say” said Burt, and his thoughts went back to the previous two wars.
Fear spread into his mind at the fact that he might perish in a third war if it broke out, Dumbeldore had perished in the second war as so did many others. Burt made it out lucky, when the Ministry had fell his house was raided by Death Eaters looking for him but, Burt had already left and cursed the house. The booby trapped curses sent the few death eaters to St. Mungos and Burt was in hiding helping the order as much as he could. What came next, however wiped away that fear, inside he was angry and annoyed at the man now before him. Harry had made it very clear Neville would in charge of the order members at the castle, and Harry made clear of his authority as Head Auror.
On the outside Burt however did not look angry his face had been completely emotionless, except for his eyes which had shown fear before at the thought of dying, before becoming Minister, were now empty of emotion. Now he was full alert, he was making sure he did not lose control of his emotions at this point; he needed to be in full control. The thought of people telling Burt what to do, or how it will be done in his castle, yes his, he is the Headmaster. Foolish boy thought Burt, even through Harry was long from being a boy. ” I understand very well of your position, as I did it hold once before, and the authority you control over your Auror’s. “replied Burt his voice void of emotion. He adjusted himself in his seat and sat up a little further.
”I shall expect that they will respect my position as Headmaster, and keep me in the loop on plans happening on Hogwarts and its grounds. Also, I shall make quite clear to you, I respect Ministry help to a point however; I shall not tolerate unhelpful Ministry interference at all.” said Burt as he looked at right Harry. It was true he had asked for Auror protection and wanted the Ministry’s help but, if it become to where he felt he was losing power over the school, there would be major problems. ” I assume the patrol plans will ran by me of course?asked Burt, raising an eyebrow at him, waiting for what next Harry would say to annoy him, if anything.

Harry was glad that the headmaster agreed to join the order once more. "Thank you Headmaster." They really needed all the help that they could get. But Harry made a mental note to keep an eye on the Headmaster, he respected the man but he did not trust him that much. He grinned inwardly when the man asked "Two?" It was all that he could spare since their numbers were streched thin in the Auror department. "Yes only two, if you need more in the future let me know" He was only going to tell the Headmaster what the man needed to know.
He saw the flash of anger in the headmaster's eyes and a little bit of fear as well before it was gone. Harry knew what the flash of anger was for. He would not let that man control everything. ”I understand very well of your position, as I did it hold once before, and the authority you control over your Auror’s." Harry also knew that the man had held the position of Head Auror before. "Of course Professor." Harry had resigned to call the man Professor and not Headmaster or sir. It would enrage the man further but he didn't care.
"Yes they will respect your position as Headmaster of Hogwarts Professor," Harry emphasized the professor to make a point saying that he was not intimidated by the man. "and they will keep you in the loop about the patrols and whatever else that they need to do as Aurors." Harry could tell the man wanted to have control of the members of the Order at Hogwarts as well as any Aurors stationed there when the headmaster stated quite clearly to Harry "...Also, I shall make quite clear to you, I respect Ministry help to a point however; I shall not tolerate unhelpful Ministry interference at all.” This was the main reason that he had made sure that Neville would be in charge of both the members of the Order and any and all Aurors here at the school. And he had asked Walton to assist Neville in anyway possible, and Harry had even inducted Walton into the Order. He knew that both men were perfect for this job and the assignments that he had given them. However Harry had no intention to let the Headmaster know of Walton being inducted into the Order.
Harry had already given Hudson and Cain their assignments as members of the Order and it would be quite interesting as to how they would would carry them out. Harry looked over at the Headmaster who he noted was watching him intently. It was quite amusing to Harry to see this man angry. He wasn't worried though since he had already made sure that the barriers in his mind were strong and and he had even reinforced them quite a bit. "Don't worry Professor. You will not lose control of anything here. I just wanted to make sure that you understand that my men will not be taking orders from you. Yes they will inform you of what they are doing, but at the same time I ask that you do not try and tell them what to do, they are open to suggestions, but let them do their job. For they have the best of intentions to protect this school and the students within it. As I know you do." He wanted to make a point that under no circumstances was this man to order any of his people around. Not his Aurors nor anyone in the Order. Yes he could order them around if they were also professors, but only in that capacity were they to take orders from him. Harry knew that the man would be mad, and it didn't bother him one bit.
He sat there staring at the Headmaster waiting for a reaction form him. Harry was ready for anything that might happen. Since he was ready for anything that might happen Harry just sat there, his face void of all emotions, looking at the Headmaster as if daring him to try something. Harry was not one that you wanted as an enemy but as an ally. All he could do now was wait.

That word, Professor. He kept calling Burt professor, it did annoy him as he had just become Headmaster, done so much to crawl and get such a position and to be called simply, Professor and having it empathized was a sign of disrespect. However; Burt had realized what was going on here, he had seen that Harry was intentionally doing it, wanting to anger Burt. He wants a reaction thought Burt, who just started laughing on the inside at how foolish the younger man was in front of him. His fame was born to him, his parents died and gave him fame. Killing the dark lord..HA thought Burt as he saw, Harry as having help by multiple people, and luck was on his side. If it hadn’t been for Dumbeldore, the whole entire world would have been destroyed, Harry was just the face of a hero that the public liked to see, is everything Burt was feeling now. Deep down he did have respect for him, his skills as an Auror as well as Head Auror which is what ticked Burt off.
He respected Harry as Head Auror and here calling him Professor, was not even showing him the respect as Headmaster. With a little chuckle he looked around the room and then looked back to Harry ”Professor? I don’t have a class anymore Harry. Wish I did but, I guess as Headmaster I have an entire school to run, not just a class”said Burt giving him a friendly smile. He was not going to show this man any more signs of anger, not one little bit at all. The thought of trying to read Harry’s thoughts would not even come to Burt’s mind; he knew Harry finally knew how to defend his mind from attacks. It really did seem as Harry was trying to press Burt’s buttons but, it just wasn’t working. Now Burt was finding true and real humor in what Harry was trying to do. That scar must have left brain damage thought Burt as he nodded as Harry spoke about him not ordering the Aurors or Order Members around.
While the situation did sit well with Burt, it was more of the way presented toward him. He understood where Harry wanted to command his own Aurors and order members, even if they were on Hogwarts grounds. He could accept that, the way it was being delivered was not something he was so willingly to accept. ”There will be no problems Mr. Potter, I understand. I respect you as Head Auror, and the Head Auror should be one of the only people commanding Aurors” replied Burt. He had said “one of the” because, while he was second in command of the Law Enforcement Department he was known to order a few Aurors on cases. However that was chain of command, different situation than here.
He pulled his wand out and waved it summoning two butter beers from his office, appearing before the two. Taking one he started drinking it and then put it back down on the table, and made a motion offering the other one for Harry. Burt cared for tea, butter beer, pumpkin juice, and that was about it for anything to drink, he hated coffee very much. He relaxed more now; still however on the inside he was fully alert on the outside he looked perfectly relaxed and calmed now like nothing had even bothered him before.

Harry listened as the Headmaster spoke, and he caught on that the man was not going to give him the satisfaction of challenging him. For this he was glad. He more than likely already mad the man angry but oh well. ”Professor? I don’t have a class anymore Harry. Wish I did but, I guess as Headmaster I have an entire school to run, not just a class” Harry smiled on the inside. It seemed like the Headmaster wanted to control the situation but Harry had a better idea, that should work better for both of them. "Sorry about that. It is just an old habit." It really wasn't but the Headmaster didn't have to know about that. "You see all of the previous headmasters and headmistresses allowed people to also call them professor. But in this case I think so we don't have any discrepancies and the fact that you have already addressed me by my first name or by my last. How about we either stick to first names or last names, which will it be?" This was really the only way that the man might be able to handle not being called headmaster. Harry didn't really care what he was called, he had been called many things throughout his life and it didn't really matter to him.
Harry waved his wand checking the bottle of butterbeer that had just landed in front of him, for any signs of poison, curses, or tampering of any sort. One could never be to careful in these times. Finding nothing Harry grabbed the bottle raised it up and said "Thank you, Burt." before taking a sip from the bottle. He set the bottle down before asking "Are there any conclusions or speculations as to whom you think might be behind all of this, and have you found any dark objects or anything of that nature here on the school grounds? I already know that it wasn't one of the professors or the rest of the staff here." He added the last part letting Burt know that he had already talked with Walton. Harry picked up the bottle again and drank some more of the cool liquid as he waited for Burt to answer the questions that he had just asked.

He drank his butter beer as he listened to Harry’s response on why he kept calling him Professor. Old habits he said, which Burt didn’t really believe however he wasn’t going to divulge deeper into the issue. On the inside he scoffed at how he said his predecessors had still accepted being called Professor, this was true he was sure of it. However to Burt it was such a stupid idea, the title was a position of power and influence as he saw, more than a Professor had. To Burt, it was disrespect to not address him as Headmaster or sir; with Harry however it was more that he had seemed to do it on purpose to annoy Burt. ” We have know each other a long time and respect one another, Harry I believe we can use first names if you wish” said Burt with a smile as he took a swig of the butter beer and set the glass back on the table. He gave a little nod to Harry as he waved his wand over the butter beer to check for poison, curses etc. Truthfully he was impressed Harry had done so, not offended really because it was one thing to be safe. Cursed items could fall into the hand of a friend without them full well knowing about it. If I was going to kill you however; butter beer won’t be the weapon thought Burt as he smiled and nodded in reply to ”Thank you Burt”. So it seemed first names would work after all then, he could accept that.
As he listened to what Harry asked him about if he had any conclusions or speculations as to who might behind the recent attacks, or anything at all about dark items on the grounds. He nodded as Harry had said he knew none of the staff was involved. He’s talked to Walton instantly thought Burt and nodded once more, taking in everything that Harry asked. He looked up for a second and then gave a small sigh, if Harry had talked to Walton than Walton might have told him about his student theory. ”I assume you have talked to Walton? If you have, has he brought you in one the theory that our mastermind is a student at the school. I’ve search the castle and grounds every day and night, I have not found one dark item yet, however; I am still looking as it is easy to smuggle an dark item in Hogwarts if you know how” said Burt his voice was calm but, in serious and business tone. In the back of his mind, protected by his thoughts and the shadows of his mind, he knew he would be bringing an item into the school soon, to help him with the situation. That however would not be shared with anyone, and Burt made sure to not give any clues about this plan. Only one other person knew, his friend and chief aide Professor Stone. ” Since of Walton’s theory, I have instructed house elves to patrol the corridors at night, and have several portraits watching students for anything out of the ordinary. I have also brought on a new Professor and Slytherin Head of House, he will be watching his house students very closely, however that doesn’t mean I’m singling one house out”said Burt, as he saw it if a student was behind it all, than any of them may be a suspect. Even if Slytherin usually bore the house of the evil dark wizards normally. When’s the last time you heard a Hufflepuff kill someone thought Burt contradicting his own statement, but he knew he was right, it was to risky to just bet that a Slytherin was behind it all, hell it may not even be a student. "Yes , I have talked with Walton about his theory that the mastermind behind all of these murders could be a student. I agree as I have come to the same conclusion. However I believe that they have help from the outside. Especially from the people that supported Voldemort." Harry drank some of the butterbeer as he thought about the theory that Walton had come up with. It wasn't that far fetched and it really was the only thing that he could think of. He was a hundred percent sure that Voldemort's old supporters were also helping the mastermind. They all wanted revenge especially against him, of that he was sure.
"I have instructed house elves to patrol the corridors at night, and have several portraits watching students for anything out of the ordinary. I have also brought on a new Professor and Slytherin Head of House, he will be watching his house students very closely, however that doesn’t mean I’m singling one house out” Those could help but only ever so much. However the house elves only went where they were supposed to go. There were some areas of the castle that they never touched such as going into the forbidden corridor. "I hope you are having the house elves patrol all of the corridors, even the one on the third floor, and if not I suggest you do that. If you do have a house elf patrol that corridor make sure that it is a trustworthy one." Harry looked at Burt at the mention of the new transfiguration professor. He knew the man, he had met him before when he was in Paris. "Ah, yes Vincent Stone. And I agree that we cannot single any house out in particular. The person could be in any of the four houses." It was true it could be anyone in Hogwarts. Granted the most likely suspect would be a Slytherin. But then yet again they could be from any of the other houses as well.

Burt nodded as he listened to Harry speaks about Walton’s theory and that he had come to the same conclusion as well. At this mention, his eyebrows raised a little bit to Harry. He had given serious thought to the theory but, had not come to the conclusion yet of it being a student; however he was rethinking that given what Harry stated. He nodded at him bringing up that he felt old supporters of Voldemort was helping the mastermind, that was true in fact. ”I had hope it would not be a student, and yes I agree that his old followers are helping. I would assume the mastermind is planning to be better than Voldemort, learn from his mistakes.” responded Burt his eyes looking directly at Harry. At least that’s what I would do thought Burt as his attempted to picture himself as trying to be the new dark Lord. He couldn’t however, he could only picture himself with power and influence and not the power Voldemort wanted. He didn’t feel the need to kill, or to find immortality only to achieve his goals and leave a legacy. His thoughts came back to the meeting he was in with Harry, and nodded once again as Harry started speaking.
He agreed with what Harry had said but, only in part. The third floor corridor was not a place he wanted house elves at, or yet anyone he didn’t trust. He himself had been patrolling the area every night, and had asked Professors to patrol as well. Despite his intense thought process of having house-elves patrol that area, his face showed nothing that his mind was hard at work trying to conceal something and figure out his correct words. ”It will be the most trustworthy, I have focused myself and Professors to that area more however, but I will take it under advisement” responded Burt, he picked up his drink and finished it and put it back on the table. His eyes looked at Harry when he mentioned Vincent’s name, he had almost forgot Vince telling him he had met Harry before in Paris. Nodding he was glad Harry was agreeing with him on not singling out one house only, their meeting seamed to not have as much tension as it did before at least that is what Burt was hoping for. ”I’m really sorry it was James that found her; he didn’t deserve to see that, still to young. However; he has a very bright future in front of him.” said Burt he looked at Harry, and his face and eyes were filled with compassion and sympathy. Since the incident Burt had started looking out for James more, he felt something special about the kid even before the incident. He looked down and notice that he had forgot his drink was empty, he waved his wand another one was conjured from his office and he drank same waiting for Harry’s response.

"That is all that I ask." Harry said as Burt agreed to take into consideration his idea of putting a house elf on the third floor to patrol it. It would only help matters. Because most times house elves were able to see things that any witch or wizard might overlook even if they were the best at what they did. There wasn't as much tension in between them anymore, but it was still there nonetheless. Harry took a sip of his drink as he listened to what else Burt had to say.
”I’m really sorry it was James that found her; he didn’t deserve to see that, still to young. However; he has a very bright future in front of him.” Harry nodded towards Burt while he drank, in acknowledgement of what the man had said about his son being the one to find murdered girl. He had to agree it was a terrible thing for one so young as his son, to see a dead body. Granted he had seen many dead bodies in his time. The first time he actually saw someone get killed was Cedric Diggory, who hadn't deserved to die at all. Next was his godfather Sirius Black, who had been killed by Bellatrix Lestrange, and then his mentor, Albus Dumbledore. After that there were countless others, during the Battle of Hogwarts, and also as his time being an Auror. He had seen more death than most people. "I agree with you on that note. It really is a sad thing that he had to be the one to find the dead body of the first year. And yes he does have a bright future in front of him." Harry knew that James would do his best to make him proud, but he already had and it didn't matter to Harry if his son wanted to become an Auror, play professional quidditch, or to even explore the world. It was totally up to his son what he wanted to do with his life. Harry only wanted and still wants the best for his family. "I want to thank you Burt, for looking out for James, since I cannot be here at Hogwarts all of the time." He meant what he said. But at the same time if the Headmaster tried to lead his son down the wrong path, i.e. using dark magic or anything of the sort. Burt would have Harry to answer to, and not just him but also Ginny who would probably kill the old man, well maybe not kill, but seriously maim him. And after that who knows what would happen to the old man. But Harry wasn't going to dwell on that, right now for he was still in a meeting with said old man.

He nodded at Harry’s response and was glad that the Head Auror did not push further on that recommendation, mentally he tossed it aside and would never do it, he had his own reasons why he couldn’t. Besides better guarded by me than a damn house elf thought Burt picking up his drink and started to almost finishing it before putting it back down on the table. The thought of having an house elf on that corridor and discovering something they shouldn’t did not sit well with Burt, a lot of things had not been sitting well with him. His plans would have to change with the current circumstances, not only because of Order members at Hogwarts but, because paranoia always made him want to change plans. He feared someone would figure out his plans, his goals, what he was attempting to do which if they did they could ruin Burt, which in the end would mean certain death for not only him, but Professor Stone. Only Burt, Vince and another person knew of the secret that he had been keeping, that he had made an Unbreakable Vow with the Transfiguration Professor. Failure was not an option for Burt, he would do whatever he needed to do to gain what was rightfully his. ”Even killing the good guys eh?” a small evil voice played in Burt’s head.
His attention turned from his thoughts on his plans to what Harry was saying. He was agreeing with Burt on that it was sad for James to find the body and that he had a bright future in front of him. He was a little caught off guard, and showed it, when Harry thanked him for looking out for James since he could not always be at Hogwarts. Despite any differences he had with Harry or what he thought of him, he cared for James something about him, he was a special kid and Burt only wanted to make sure he was protected. He gave Harry a smile and nodded at him, for what he had said. ”Your welcome, I just like to make sure he stays on the right path which won’t be hard considering who his parents is. Just a little bit of a prankster” replied Burt, giving a chuckle knowing James wasn’t a little prankster at all. ”You know what he has thought of doing after Hogwarts, last time I talked with him he wasn’t quite sure?” asked Burt, his voice held a little concern in it. He hoped and expected his students by their seventh year had at least a somewhat idea or plan on what they want to do after Hogwarts, he was unsure of what James wanted to do. He felt somehow that the prankster in him, would not want a desk job at all.

Harry watched Burt closely, and he was going to make sure to ask that he informed Walton of what was going on, and to especially monitor the interactions that Burt had with James. Because it wouldn’t do well to have the man turning his son into one of his goons. Harry wouldn’t stand for it. He would do everything in his power to make sure that James and his closest friends learned occlumency. Not from him but from Neville. However he would first have to make sure that Neville agreed to do so, and also to his other two children Lily and Albus. Granted that is if those two wanted to learn. He knew that lily would but the question was would Albus. Harry was concerned for his kids and their friends. He didn’t trust Burt at all, and he planned on having Neville, Walton and the other aurors keep an eye on him and Vince. And knowing his kids and their friends, it was more than likely that they were going to try and solve and catch the murderer on their own. It almost reminded Harry of Ron, Hermione, and himself when they were younger. Always trying to stop things from happening.
“Burt, you and I both know that James is not a little prankster and neither are his friends.” Harry said once Burt had called his son a little prankster. That was an understatement if there ever was one. For they were like the new marauders. ”You know what he has thought of doing after Hogwarts, last time I talked with him he wasn’t quite sure?” Harry wasn’t sure what James was planning on doing after Hogwarts. Well maybe he did but he wasn’t about to tell Burt what it was exactly. “Well I am not sure, because when I asked him before he came to school this year, he said he still wasn’t sure. Which is fine with me and I do not want you trying to influence him to do something. Especially something that would serve your purposes.” Harry said that last bit with an edge, so that Burt would know not to mess with his son and that Harry was onto him. Because if he did there would be major ramifications, and more than likely pain coming for the old man. Ha old man, he had been talking to Walton the other day who referred to Burt as the old man. He was going to have to use that more often since it fit him perfectly. There was something going on here and he was determined to find out what it was.
(kind of short sorry. my muse for harry isn't that great right now, but I am building it up.)

He gave a slight chuckle and nodded to what Harry said, correcting him about how James is not a little prankster. Harry was in fact correct on this one, his son was a very much of a prankster something which never bothered Burt very much he did pranks as well when he was in his school years. He gave a little smile and then went back to drink some more of his drink, surprised he still had some left. Of course his final years of Hogwarts were more filled with studying, and making plans instead of playing Qudditch or pulling pranks with some of his well known prankster buddies he had made during his first few years at Hogwarts. All for the greater good, evil for the greater good thought Burt, something Vince always told him when he would later on bring the man into his secret plans of becoming Minister. Fools…that’s all they believe is I want to become Minister…no some men want to see the world burn…I want to see it bow to me. thought Burt he sat back in his chair as he thought about his plans quietly.
However such thoughts became rudely disrupted at Harry’s next response to Burt and here he thought the tension in the meeting had been disarmed. He was a little annoyed at such a statement from Harry, because Burt honestly had no plans to confuse James. Well of course he did have a backup plan but, James Potter wasn’t even close to being a pawn in his chess game against the leaders of power. He leaned forward and looked right at Harry, with a sort of “you would dare” kind of look on his face. Anger was not an emotion even near him; he was rather just super annoyed at the statement. Your son is not that important just because he’s a Potter and had to come across a mud blood body the thought and many more like it poured into Burt’s head as he found the words to address Harry. He did not wish for the earlier tension of the meeting to return to them, but it seemed the man in front of them was hell bent on having it being resuscitated. ”Harry I am sorry you think that way, let me be clear to you now. I have no intentions of using your son or any of your family members for any personal ambitions you think I have. Do not forget I am one who fought side by the side the Order and did everything I could to try to get Fudge to believe you and Albus.” said Burt he leaned back a little after he said his piece.
”If so I’ll make this clear, I’m in a position I enjoy Harry and just trying to protect the school and it’s students, I have no other personal ambitions despite what some might write about me, I choose my place, this is it” said Burt, such a lie. He knew Harry would not believe it because of his bias thinking of him anyways, but he had to hand it to himself, he could lie perfectly without most telling. Another drink from his glass and he waited to see what more annoying statements may come out of famous Harry Potter.

”Harry I am sorry you think that way, let me be clear to you now. I have no intentions of using your son or any of your family members for any personal ambitions you think I have. Do not forget I am one who fought side by the side the Order and did everything I could to try to get Fudge to believe you and Albus.” He already knew all of that stuff about Burt trying to get Fudge to believe Dumbledore and Harry himself. “I remember Burt and thank you for that.” Harry said in an even tone without expressing any emotions for he was sure that he had just annoyed the man before him once more. ”If so I’ll make this clear, I’m in a position I enjoy Harry and just trying to protect the school and it’s students, I have no other personal ambitions despite what some might write about me, I choose my place, this is it” Well now if that wasn’t a lie he didn’t know what one was. Harry saw right through said lie and knew that Burt had a personal agenda just for him and if he didn’t know any better it was to get a higher position that Headmaster of Hogwarts. Maybe the man wanted to be Minister or something like that.
“Burt, if I didn’t know any better I would have to say that you just lied to me. We both know you may enjoy your position as headmaster of Hogwarts but you have bigger plans. And whatever they are I hope for you sake that they will not put any of the students here in harm’s way. Because if they do well you will have many pissed off people coming after you, some may believe you when you try and justify what you did. But many won’t including myself and others.” There was no other way for him to say it. He was pissed that this man had decided to lie to him, but then yet again sometimes it was easier to tell what someone was going to do if they kept lying to you. Trust was something that had to be earned and well Burt just lost it by lying to Harry, and it would take a long time for it to be earned back. But he had an uneasy feeling about the whole thing, there was definitely something off.
Harry had said everything in an even and calm tone that would not show his anger or anything. He was doing what Burt was doing and he knew that neither of them would lose this battle of wills, but there was one major difference that Harry knew would be the turning point in all of this at some point. For he told the truth and Burt told lies, and occasionally told the truth. In time people would see through the lies and see the man for what he really was. A power hungry old man
