expecto patronum "defence against dementors and lethifolds" there it was. today's lesson written on the black board in stark white chalk. he wondered if the students would be up to learning this spell. it was a difficult one that a lot of people couldn't pull off. well they could cast the shield but it was difficult to make a coporeal form and keep it and control it. he took out his wand, spinning the tip of his wand in circles slowly as he made the form of his patronus emit from the end of his wand without a word. he watched the form of the wolf walk forward, no sound as it floated just above the wooden floors of the classroom. shifting a little he made it sit by the blackboard, the blue light that radiated around it filled the room, the blue wisps that floated from it's form gave the room an even more mystaical feel than normal. he moved to lean against his desk as he looked to the clock, his students would be arriving at any time.

Anna meandered down the corridor, relaxed. Her next class was defense against the dark arts, one of her favorite classes, and she was excited for it. Out of all her classes, she could rely on this one to be interesting and applicable. From the last year she - as well as everyone else in the school - had become increasingly aware that tranquility doesn't last long. All of the attacks made her even more determined to succeed in this class. She wanted to be able to defend herself as well as those around her, if the need arose.
She entered the room, her attention instantly drawn to the patronus at the front of the room. Ahh, so that's what we're learning today, she thought to herself, excited. She moved to her seat and watched the wolf as it sat. Though it wasn't really doing anything, she was entertained by watching it. After all, there wasn't much else that she could do. She was waiting for her fellow classmates to arrive and for class itself to start. Might as well daze off for a bit.

Matty had come from a long line of pureblood supremacists, therefore he had dabbled in the Dark Arts. He had grown up around them, for Merlin's sake. It was only natural that it was one subject he excelled in compared to the others. It was also one of his favorite classes. It was much more interesting and hands on than others. Potions? That was difficult... not to mention Professor Aguillard was a hard ass. Matty quite liked Professor Jakebson. He was cool professor, and he seemed to always make class interesting enough to keep Matty involved in the lessons.
The Slytherin walked into his Defense Against the Dark Arts class only to see one other student. It was unusual for Matty to be on of the first in the class, but his last class had let out early so he figured he would head to his next one right away. He had nothing else to do. He noticed immediately a Weasley. The hair was a dead giveaway. He then followed her eyes to the wolf patronus at the front of the room. He smirked. At long last they would be studying patronuses.

Defense Against the Dark Arts was a class that Rina enjoyed, but wasn't one of her absolute favorites. That place belonged to, to many peoples' surprise, History of Magic. When she walked in to the classroom however, her interest peaked at the sight of the silvery patronus patrolling the front of the classroom. If Rina was honest, she had tried to produce a patronus on her own before but had failed in her attempts so far. Perhaps today she'd learn what her guardian animal was.
Searching the room, she only saw Anna and a Slytherin boy, Mathieu, she recognized from several classes together. She went and sat back in the third row, pulling her wand out of her pocket. She hesitated, then also pulled out her book. She supposed it wouldn't hurt to see what was written down about Patronuses after all.

expecto patronum "defence against dementors and lethifolds" "indeed it is moreta" he said with a smile as he walked between the desks of his students and glanced to the front of the board. he wondered how many in the room had ever thought about casting the spell. how many knew what form there's would take or if they had a happy enough memory to power it. that was the difficult part. having a memory strong enough that it was able to hold it's own against the sorrow and misery a dementor inflicted on you. he'd been on the opposite side of a dementor back when he had been an auror and he wouldn't wish it on his worst enemy. it had been horrible. "used to defend you against dementors and lethifolds, it takes a very powerful and very happy memory to cast. so i want you all to start thinking of one." he said as he moved back to the front of his hand, his patronus vanished in a flash of light and he picked up the chalk and started writing the incantation on the board so that when the students were ready they knew what to say.

Braelynn had arrived in her usual quiet, and peaceful. She was running a little later then usual, though, and only managed to slip through the door a few seconds before Professor Jakebson started the lesson. She didn't look up at first, instead just found the first open seat, and muttered a quiet apology. Usually she was one of the first to arrived at class, but today she'd been forced to take a detour to avoid Raleigh in the halls. Finally settled, she glanced up to see the board, and fully register what the Defense against the dark arts professor was saying. Oh... Her expression went usually still. The Patronus charm... Of course. They were bound to learn it sooner or later. She'd simply been lucky to have avoided it until now. As he asked the class to think of a powerful and happy memory, she clasped her hands tightly together. Did she even have any memories strong enough to produce the charm? Would she, for maybe the first time in her school career, make a fool of herself by being unable to master a spell?

Phil was running. He was never late for class, except for today. He felt he had a good reason for being late, with his brother in the hospital. He hadn't even wanted to come but his dad made a good point. It wouldn't really work to put his life on hold to plot his revenge. So, here he was, walking into the back of the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, late.
Sliding into the seat closest to the door he pulled out his parchment and quill. He was halfway though writing down what was on the board before he realized what it said. He had to stifle a groan. He really could have skipped today. He already knew how to do a patronus, he had been practicing for ages. He should have stayed with Jayden. Maybe he could sneak out? No. He might as well see what professor Jakebson had to say on it. Even if he didn't really care today.
